Hi.. So if a foreigner buys a lot that is larger than 300 sq meters, say the larger one you showed that is 1290 sq meters, is that still considered just one plot that a foreigner can purchase???
Hello Walter, The 300 square metres depend on the zoning of the area. However if one is buying morethan the accepted number of square metres as a foreigner then they are required to obtain an investment certificate. With an investment certificate it means that you are buying the land for investment purposes and you should therefore present an investment/business plan to be approved by RDB. You can therefore buy morethan one piece of land for investment purposes but not for personal residential use. Thanks
@@tumukundejoselyne ok i understand that part about needing to register as a business if buying more than one plot, but my question is am I allowed to purchased a larger plot of say 500 meters or more. Like some being sold?
Hi, Are foreigners allowed to buy land in Rwanda? Yes, foreigners can buy property in Rwanda. How many properties are foreigners limited to? A foreigner can buy one residential/household property. Should they wish to buy morethan one piece of property, they still can do that however it will be regarded as investment property. One therefore has to obtain an investment certificate inorder to be able to buy morethan one piece of property as a foreigner.
