This was quite the enjoyable episode. I wasn't even aware they had made an X-COM board game, so this was a pleasant surprise. Also I quite appreciate how Beej is dressed, even if he wasn't playing the central officer role.
I love how this captured the spirit of Xcom so susinctly: World is a fuck, everything's unfair, light up the skies and just keep throwing bodies at the aliens until our tech catches up.
This game got a major need for good techs to get out and usable early on, otherwise you are gonna loose. You literally need salvage and tech-improvements to survive. Just like in the game.
11:04 that just kills me, i love that kinda banter x''D "I don't think your taking this alien invasion, seriously." Hey! Hey, we are the *BEST* the world could manage. We're fucked!
1:05:46 (missed a ufo in orbit?) Seems suuuuuper easy to do w/ the time restriction. 1:06:44 ayyy chat gotcha :). 2:52:46 I used to hate potato salad, until my wife's recipe turned me around on it. There is good potato salad out there, I promise ^^;.
As much as Ian is wearing a scientist outfit in the video, I would presume yes. Cam is the Commander of the game, so I think he would have at least thought of wearing it beforehand.
Yeah, except Ben is Bradford, Ian is Shen/Vahlen, Beej is "the Commander," and Cam is a... Squad Lead? I miss the old days where cam would play 12 hours of Xcom as the Cammander.
I see, I started with enemy unknown since the original games were before my time in gaming. You still have to appreciate that they try to follow the game in the aesthetic sense at least.
