AFL - Bill Belichick (full)

In the 2009 season, which marked Belichick's 35th consecutive year in the NFL and the Patriots' 50th Anniversary season, NFL Films documented sides of the three-time Super Bowl-winning head coach few have ever seen. While his unmatched record as a head coach makes him no stranger to the NFL record books, Belichick made history in the production of A Football Life by becoming the only coach to ever be wired for sound for an entire NFL season.

His humility walking through the old giants stadium really gets me. That’s how you become the greatest. Always working your ass off, studying your craft, admitting and working your mistakes, and staying humble.

My friend's dad was an all time great in lacrosse. Belichick came to a game that had a ceremony for him in 2010s. Belichick started asking a bunch of questions to him about lacrosse and strategy. My friend was there and was thinking omg he is asking my dad questions about sports.

I can Bill Belichick felt weird losing those two Super Bowls to Tom Coughlin and the Giants and knowing that on that 1990 title team that Coughlin was also the wide receivers coach and Bellichick was also defensive cooridnator. He said that he always felt welcomed back by the Wellington and Mara families. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GXFfVf-7Itg.html

Nothing beats Belichick screaming at his defense when they give up a meaningless touchdown late in a blowout of the Jaguars. This is one of my favorite clips of the coach because I believe it reveals a lot of what makes him successful--play 60 minutes. Most coaches couldn't care less if their defense relaxed a little late in a blowout, but most coaches don't win Super Bowls.

blowout games in every sport are difficult, how do you keep your guys focused and engaged, on top of that, treating it like live practice to fine tune your own tactics and plays. You want your guys to still be able to execute. Just because it doesn't matter in this game, doesn't mean it won't matter next game.

If you want to understand why Jamie Collins was traded mid-season last year, the answer is right here in 2009, the lowest point in the Patriots Belichick era. The team chemistry was horrible, the culture of hard work and preparation was in tatters. Belichick wants no part of that in any way again; every player is accountable to everyone else on the team, and if their actions on the field don't back that up, they are gone. Forget the talent level. Perhaps an untold story in light of the seemingly continuous dominance of the Brady/Belichick Patriots, is the resurgence of the Pats following 2009, and how Belichick and Brady both overcame huge obstacles to elevate their greatness to the unprecedented level we see today in 2017.
@MattProtrains
@MattProtrains 6 лет назад
I agree. Brady's comeback year was memorable, for mostly the many horrid happenings. Lose to Rex and a rookie QB in week 2, lost a close one in Denver, 4th and 2, New Orleans smackdown in the superdome. They just crawled into the playoffs, and they had their (rear) handed to them by the Ravens. Such a great disappointment for all the hype they put in for Brady's return, and to have a lackluster year. Some people even thought it was the end of the BB/TB era after that season.

I believe this is the only time I ever see Bill get choked up on camera. I live in an area where there is a split between Giants and Patriots fans. I have always been a Patriots fan but have much respect for the Giants franchise. Parcells started it in 1993, then Belichik brought everything he learned during his time with the Giants and found his own way starting in 2000. Why do you think the two Patriots/Giants Super Bowls' were so great? Two coaches from the Parcells coaching tree going at it and literally one or two plays separated the Patriots from another two Super Bowls. I see it as karma giving back to the Giants for what was taken from them. As much as they hurt to see, I am grateful for so many intense and memorable moments during this era of Patriots football.

So Surprised he agreed to do a documentary since he hates press conferences,lol. Even more surprised that ha has done a couple other documentaries as well. Plus this is longer than most football documentaries that ive ever watched. I watch "a football life " and it was first time ive seen him smile,lol

He doesn't hate the media, he hates stupid questions. Im not surprised he did this, he loves history and football. This is a good way for him to add to football history.

og jenny he likes NFL Films he hates all other media except for his friend Chris Berman. That’s basically it. He also knows everyone at NFL Films and occasionally spends time at their New Jersey office watching tape

The build up to the Titans game is hilarious when you know what happens during the game.

Still can’t believe Randy Moss never won a ring in his career. It’s just bad luck for him to have such a good team and QB but missing the ring by one damn year

I still laugh every time I see Bill pestering Welker about Wally Pipp after Edelman takes a punt to the House. Bill had decided in that moment that Welker and his contract were now dispensable. He was confident that Julian could do the job, and he was right.

The most inconsistent year in the Brady/Belichick era. Could have easily gone 12-4 or even 13-3 if not for the Broncos, Colts, or Texans games

They say it takes10,000 hours to be good at something. Bellichick probably has over a 300,000 hours.
