Stunning countryside. You conquered the heat and the undergrowth.

Thank you, only just though. The heat became very draining by the 40 mile mark. I opted for paracetamol and a caffeine gel which seemed to help a little, well enough to limp over the line!!

Hi. Thanks for the film. I am currently umming and arring about entering having DNFed an 80 mile route last weekend. Looks a spectacular course and through my favourite of the Dales in Swaledale. Well done. 💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Thank you, we loved this low key event. Cheap as chips and aid stations too. What’s not to like!!

Can't believe what a small world it is. I've been watching you guys since lockdown. Thought I may bump into you on your travels. I met your mum and dad instead. I service their boiler. I love your dogs, got loads of kisses. Lol

Haha, small world indeed! My mum was telling me about you earlier! Thanks for watching, appreciate it. She said you love the Lakes like we do, how can you not?!

Well done for taking on the run and the heat. Lovely to see God's own in all its summer glory! Have your boys shown any interest in running? Not that distance of course!! Keep getting those miles in.

Thank you Tim, much appreciated. The route was very scenic indeed though hard with the heat. As for the boys running, not yet!! 😂

Well done both! That looked both lovely and brutal. I don't fair well in those unprotected hot conditions. I hate flies as much as you! The further you go and sweatier you get the more they come at you! Well done.

Thank you, appreciate it! I’m surprised I got to the end to be fair as the heat started to play it’s part around the 40 mile mark. A couple of paracetamol and lots of fluids helped. Just not built for running in the heat but hate to give it and as for those pesky flies 😡 😂

Great work. Arm sleeves seemed to work well. Must have been punishing for you both all the way🌞🌞. Camera fottage is excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Stephen, surprisingly they do work! It’s crazy how adding a layer can make you feel cooler but must be something along perspiration being soaked up and dried quicker - or something like that 😂

Well done on completing that in the current heat we are having, that was probably much harder than it should of been! Amazing views and scenery! Hope you did breathe in too many flies 😊
@TrailRunningCouple
@TrailRunningCouple 2 года назад
Thanks Karen, ~50 miles is no joke no matter the temperature but on Saturday it was definitely a different kind of struggle. Still, glad to come through it though took its toll by the end. Those pesky flies were horrendous!! 😂

@@TrailRunningCouple 50 miles should not be taken lightly at all, and it’s an immense amount of miles to cover, but you both should be so proud and elated at what you have achieved 😊

Not the best weather for running but I know from doing running events myself you have to roll with what you're given on the day for any event. Very well done for doing it tho. I had to laugh at the bloke on one of the summits giving you a funny look as if to say "What, running, are they nuts?" ha ha.

Thanks Paul, getting used to the looks we sometimes get now. I think I’d have given the same look if I were him! Tough tough day out 🥵

Hi guys. What are your names again, please? I think it was mentioned in my run when you were talking to each other. I can't believe how effortless you make it look running 51 mile in this relentless heat. I would've baked alive, you hardly had any shade anywhere. Was it on Saturday or on Sunday. Sunday was even hotter. Did you know that route or were you allowed to use GPS devices, or was it paper maps only? Weldone you two!!!!
@TrailRunningCouple
@TrailRunningCouple 2 года назад
Thank you very much Olga, we both appreciate your comments. My wife is Cheryl and I’m Gary. It certainly wasn’t effortless but I’m sure we all try and put our best faces on for the camera! It was Saturday and whilst not as hot as Sunday it was still very hot and uncomfortable. So glad to make it to the finish!! No didn’t know the route and GPS devices are fine. They hand out the route as a GPX file so no messing around with paper maps but many still chose to use them. It’s a fine art and we’re not masters of it!!
@OlgasBritishFells
@OlgasBritishFells 2 года назад
@@TrailRunningCouple nice to meet you (vertically for now) Cheryl and Gary. Yes Saturday was still hot too. Oh so they actually give out GPX files?! That's cool. You seemed so confident, like you knew where you were going. I can't even imagine in my head doing such a long distance. Respect!
