I'd recognize that voice anywhere. I've got one of Lorry's skid plates on my Gen 1 KLR and it's stood up well to a couple of pretty hard hits from a newbie rider!

Just ordered these for my '18 ATAS not only because of your product rave reviews but the video was the clincher. After dropping my bike for the third time (twice on pavement and one on grass), it was time to get serious about my crash protection. Thanks for making such a great product!

Hahaha sweet! Looks like you guys had fun this summer. I've crash tested my identical setup about 20 times this summer over 16,000km. Pretty much similar to the speeds of these drops usually while turning around or coming to a stop, due to my short legs and old beat up mx knees. A bit of paint and they'll be all good for next season!

Brilliant test these look great, just what I'm looking for. I have the original Honda bars, and managed to bend one plus scratched an engine case falling off on soft sand, good job it wasn't concrete. Hopfull I can find these in Europe
I've had these on my AF for about a year now. Haven't needed them until last week when my parked bike got knocked over by a van. The bars saved the bike any damage. Proof if any more needed that these do the job they're supposed to do. My only very minor gripe is that the DCT protection bar can get in the way of my booted foot when braking. It's not too bad, but if you're planning any refinements that would be on my wish list of changes.

I could hardly bare to watch, but it really illustrated the need for crash bars, while the lack of damage to the bodywork is an obvious advantage, with out them it's easy to break something that will leave you stranded.

Dropped my 1100l today despite the full set the frame is scratched bij the crachbar both pegs mirror heatshield and handduards are also hit the only thing it protected was the tank. Farr from all the shown test results. Was a slow slip on a wet road while turning richt after a stoplight so no hard crach yet more damage.
Sounds like a bigger impact than what we achieved in our video. There are hundreds of crash scenarios. Perhaps our crash bars still saved you a couple of grands.
Outback Motortek soooooo I ordered full set of crash bars and centre stand from you guys based on this and watching other guys reports 👍. That was brutal but proved a point, when I buy a new bike crash bars are the first thing I bolt on. Always buy a quality item they are worth their weight in gold.
These bars clearly work and protect the bike - probably necessary as I've read that the standard bars on the adventure sports model bend easily and damage the bodywork.

Nice work guys! I think its fair the mirrors are removed and lever attachments slightly loosened. (an old mx trick to save levers) Make these in a titanium color and I'm in!

I think your questions have been answered in the video. We have literally hundreds of happy customers with the same setup I used during the crash test.
It looks like a nice product, but it's a bit challenging to ascertain the damage in the two seconds of relatively close up footage. I see scuffs on the upper and lower bars. I really liked your first design; what is the primary reason for adding upper bars and do they protrude further from the bike when laid down?
Quite true Sir, my apologies for the mixup. You are the only one performing real world tests on your products and I applaud you. I see scuffs on the engine bars; do you think the bike would have contacted the ground without this additional protection? Would an OM skid plate and lower bars alone have performed as well in this particular test? Are upper bars still being considered after seeing how well you lower bars protected the tank and plastic? Again, I like the weight savings and lower CG of your original system while still being made of extra strong tubing.
Thank you for your kind words. I like to stand out the crowd and demonstrate how our products work without beating around the bush. The engine guards are highly recommended for the Africa Twin 1000, since the engine's very wide and protrudes. Once the bike is on it's side, there's contact especially if there are no crash bars and hand guards. We're manufacturing upper crash bars because there's demand but as with a lot of things we do, our upper bars are entirely different from the competition. I cannot say at this point that they'll perform better than the "other guys' " but certainly are mounted differently. The setup I drop tested is called "The ultimate protection combo": lower crash bars, engine guards and skid plate. This setup will protect in your Africa Twin properly in most scenarios.
Thanks, Dennis. I cannot tell you if upper bars are needed or not. In the scenarios where I tested our crash bars, it was not necessary but having tough aftermarket hand guards makes a difference.
Wow that looked brutal :) Good stuff! And what better voice-over could you get than Tyler's ... the guy's synonymous with ADV! If I ever get an AT it'll have your crashbars on it.
Unfortunately in such a crashes one of the most common problem is the handlebars that can be damaged as well as the fork clamp. The plastics are of course important but there is still the rest that can have damages. By the way brave test!!!
Not a single drop on the right side? I have seen a cracked casing and clutch cover on the right side with simple drops. I was hoping to see if these would solve the problem?
