There is no reason why a large group of people coming into a restaurant should expect to be served at the same time,without prior reservations, or menu selection. Is this just ignorance or a plan to overwhelm the restaurant?

If the restaurant had advance notice that a party of 30 was coming, that group needed at least 4 wait staff to serve them. As a former waitress, I would have had a nervous breakdown if I had had to serve them by myself. That party (and waitress) deserved better treatment than that. What horrible management.

Being in the restaurant business for 20 years I would never book a party of 30 and allow separate checks . Also would have a pre-fix menu for the party .
This is honestly a failure of management- I’ve Delt with events like that before all you need is an extra server and a dedicated runner or host. Separate checks obnoxious as fuck but you suck it up and deal-

We,in the restaurant business would call this a" cluster fuck" ha ha! Huge mistakes on the part of the management! Why didn't they schedule servers for this party and why didn't they acknowledge their mistake before the police were called and staff disappeared leaving everyone in "Limbo"? No one server can take care of a party this large,especially not knowing if they will be tipped or even paid.Why do the people involved always blame the server? Another case of poor management.

I'm throwing a party , when i get to the restaurant i then say it will be 30 separate check's ? As someone who was a restaurant manager i would have said no , it's too late to get extra staff on duty to avoid confusion and mix up's in who gets charged for what . At this time it would be 1 check or leave .

Go figure now One person's idea of service can differ from another's,as can the meaning of " fully serviced" These were not separate parties and details should have been handled by the manager in advance. Obviously there was not a clear understanding of what was desired and what could be provided.

Don’t know why a restaurant would allow a separate check party for over 30 people and then staff the area with only one server. Certainly people, black or white, could easily order and leave under those circumstances. But the restaurant should have foreseen the situation and put in safeguards. ... That happened to us at a Restaurant in Arkansas...Hot Springs...the waitress was overwhelmed, for what we don't know...that was 6 years ago and we never went there again and i never ever will again....Red Lobster

Well this restaurant lost business. And this was a year ago. I bet they wished they had these people ordering from them. If I feel like there was bad service I don't go back.

Blue Sky Grill is in the WRONG, if they agreed to have 30 people served, they needed to have enough staff to handle them in a timely manner. The agreement stated that it would be separate checks, then make it separate checks, do not call the police for this unnecessary harassment of paying CUSTOMERS.
I agree! You never refuse money as a business, obviously situations where you have the right, but separate checks? Ok, my daughter is an assistant manageress at s restaurant, and shed just have put at least 4 people on that table, allocate numbers to their seats, and pay accordingly. Yes it's more work, but that's what you do in work. Work. And personally, I don't eat much at all and I'm usually driving so no drinks, many times I've been in situations where I'm expected to split the bills evenly, with people having 3 course meals with fillet steaks, when I only had a starter!
Tess Watkins,It is not the fault of the restaurant staff. It is the fault of the owners/management for not clarifying all the facts. If 30 people order from the menu,at the exact same time,even then the kitchen would not be able to produce the food in a timely manner.
I would never book a party of 30 and do separate checks. I’d outline a menu for them and have it all cooked and set out deli style for one lump sum. 30 people on top of regular patrons is too much for a restaurant on any given day.
I would never do business at any establishment racial profiling anyone. That is a stab in the back for anyone who has gone through that. What a pure shame.

Once the restaurant kept declining any response regarding its decision to be rude to this group then you did not need to look further for its shady practices
