I’ve worked with elderly people before and most of them were nice, awesome individuals whom I have tons of respect for. Yo mum Yo mum it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re dumb but it’s proven that knowing more than 1 language is beneficial to the brain and studies have shown that knowing a second language helps works the brain and helps delay the onset of things like dementia and Alzheimer’s. I’m not saying people are dumb for only knowing one language but I do believe that those who do know more than one language definitely have an advantage. Now, do I consider the ladies in the video dumb? Absolutely. From the video they seemed to be very closed minded and intolerant of others. Knowing more than one language is awesome and takes a lot of hard work to be able to communicate and understand languages. I love hearing people talk in different languages. It’s quite fascinating to me.

Nor does it mean you are from Mexico or a Spanish speaking country. It simply means you know how to speak more than one language. To add to this matter. United States does NOT have an official language since it is a "melting pot" with people from all over the world. We are free to speak any language we choose to use. I understand that it is important to learn and use English for people that only know one language. It is unnecessary to be rude to anyone. Cheers.

Some US citizens can afford to travel to other countries. Some stay as expats. Some open businesses. Sometimes in non English speaking countries outside the US you'll actually hear staff and patrons conversing in English, maybe reminiscing about the good ol' US of A, also chit chatting about the pros and cons of their new environment. Sometimes globalization sucks. Sometimes it's cool. But one thing's for sure, if I went into some restaurant, say somewhere in Asia, and I found out a staffmember came from an English speaking country and I started talking to them in English, and some local came up to me and demanded I don't speak English. Yes, I'd immediately bow down to them, beg for a thousand apologies, never utter another word of English, hang my head in shame and scurry on out of there. Yeah right, I'm sure that's what I'd do. Not.

There are about 60,000 words and senses in Spanish that these woman don't even know exist. It is one the richest languages in the world, deriving its vocabulary from Latin, Greek, French, Catalán, German/Gothic, and classical Arabic...It is the third most spoken language in the world after Mandarin and English, and is spoken across 2 continents. Instead of being curious , aware and interested they choose ignorance and prejudice.
