And even after the gentleman told her several times that he lives at the property plus showing his keys to her, mentioning the names of the managers/agents or building owners, all of these are not enough for her to let him go? plus him saying i am on the 4th floor? She could have called the building security if she had genuine suspicious feeling (that is not racially motivated) instead of trying to play heroine. To cap it all, she stood there and watched him open his door with his key (after stalking him to his door step) and she did not show remorse or made effort to apologise by explaining to him that she was only being security conscious bcos of say X..Y..Z.. experiences that she may have had in the past. But instead she called police and gave his flat number. For you to suggests that we are not sure who called the police means that you have chosen to defend her action by all means. Judging by the video there was no third person around and neither did their body language(s) or what any of them said suggest that there was anyone around there. So that assumption is irrelevant as evidenced by the video. If her action is not racially motivated then she needs help as she may have some serious psycho issues that we are yet to find out. She may need some medical help and firing her is best so she will have time to sort herself out. Also maybe she thinks being famous for racially motivated act makes her more accessible to job.

In Bloomington il Lincoln towers you have to have a key to get in nobody else can let you in unless it's the person your visiting. It was freezing people in and out but would not let me in.

Something similar to this happened to me. An older white woman asked me WHO I WAS upon entering the building. I said I'm Drew and I live here, as we entered the elevator. I was carrying something, so I asked her to push the PH button. (Penthouse) She was on the 2nd floor...She then decided NOT TO EXIT st her stop, but instead, to ride w me to the top floor. Then she got out after me and followed me to my condo. I asked her What are you doing? She THEN said to me that she was a member of the HOA, and she wanted to make sure that I BELONGED in the building. So...I asked what her name was, and at the next meeting, I had mentioned that incident to the rest of the fellow tenants and NONE of them had any kind of run-in with her, so therefore, it must've been harrassment. I got my lawyer, (a bad mf) to send a letter to the HOA and had her position vacated. I didnt make a scene or nothing. The PEN is mightier than the SWORD!

Yes, there are legitimate reasons for strangers to be in a home. They are pet sitting, picking something up for mom, etc. Yes, you as good neighbors can and should meet and greet. But it’s “ hi, I’m Tanya X. I live in 2b. Are you new to the building, I’ve never met you before”. And if they say “leave me alone” you do so. Not your business, then. And to call the cops. The guy could've showed her his keys, and it would've been over. The guy obviously just wanted a confrontation, KNOWING that his condo building rules explicitly said to not let strangers inside the building, and instead of proving that he indeed lives here by just showing her his keys, he kept refusing to prove that he lived there. What the woman did is literally what she should've done and what was asked of her by the building rules : don't open the door for strangers to enter. Just showing her his keys would've prevented all of this, and considering the amount of effort that would take, it's pretty obvious he just wanted to record a video of this woman and get views after posting it online. Honestly, I don't understand how people are so oblivious to this pretty obvious manipulation tactic by the man.

@@salkewl I've been looking for someone else to notice this. I agree that he could have easily avoided the escalation. He refused to show his key fob. This could have been avoided if she would have just closed the door and he would have used his key fob and/or pin to open it again which would have demonstrated he had proper access. That would not have been an unreasonable step to reasonably ensure the security of the building. If he would have demonstrated that his key fob and/or pin worked, then that should/would have been enough for her. So, I lay part of the blame for the unnecessary escalation on him. Was it racial profiling? Probably, but that's difficult to prove. We'd have to observe her behavior with white men who live in the building with whom she is not acquainted under similar circumstance, which isn't practically possible.
Its very simple. One person, one entry. Carry your fob, let yourself in, close the door. Next person, do the same. No one comes in behind you. Like every other apartment complex in every city

OK all, let's remove the polarizing factor--race. Let's assume that this wasn't a case of racial profiling and re-review the events. She kept him from entering the building for no legal reason--that's loss of liberty. The when she eventually let him into the building, she got into the elevator with him. That's menacing and stalking. Then she repeatedly asked who he was going to visit and requested he show her his fob. That's harassment. All of these actions are illegal and he CHOSE not to press charges. She was lucky to be fired instead of jailed.
On the flip side let’s say he was a criminal. She would then be putting herself in danger instead of having going to people who could *actually* do something. Essentially locking herself in the elevator with him and then following him to his “target.” So she’s both extremely lucky that this man is kind enough to not press charges and lucky she was wrong otherwise she’s an idiot.

I constantly had trespass, strangers Air B&B guests(which by board policy were not allowed) in the 35 floor bldg, parking garage. 🏢🌃🌆🚔. Many times these nut bars or drug addicts would crow about racism or false arrest but they were not registered tenants or authorized to be on property.
