In Marsabit County, Kenya, we are confronted with the ongoing challenge of harmful cultural practices, with the most severe manifestation being the excommunication of teenage mothers or those who become pregnant before marriage. This heartbreaking situation involves the expulsion of young girls, along with their children, while the men involved undergo certain purification rituals. The teenage mothers are often left to give birth without support, or rely on the assistance of fellow outcasts due to the fear of defiling others through social interaction.😭😭😭
