Its hard to pick a Dylan favorite but I must say that this particular album really got my attention as if the others didn't. And I can listen to his music over and over again and amazingly it never gets old.

I imagine this song being sung in a bar, from the singer to a mutual friend of the woman. He says "don't tell her I haven't forgotten her" but I think he secretly hopes he will. "Oh, he doesn't want me to tell you but he's still burning up over you."

One of Dylan's great "broken heart love songs", someone else already mentioned "Boots Of Spanish Leather" in the comments, I agree. There is an earlier recording of this song, where at the end he sings "If she's passing back this way, most likely I'll be gone. She's better off with someone else, and I'm better off alone", which makes it even more heartbreaking.

Hello Fay! The album is “Blood on the Tracks” and is all about Bob’s divorce from his first wife. Every song on this album has some connection to their breakup, and is at least very good, many are great. Great reaction Fay!

No. The words are correct. He doesn’t want her to know that he is still in love with her. By using the third person to speak to he can reveal his true feelings to the listener while not revealing his pain to the object of his love.

Yes it is a great song. He uses the same third person device on “Girl From The North Country” it works like a charm.
