I agree. I genetically connect with Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Bajans and Jamaicans. Still trying to find the exact ancestors but learning about each other is definitely a start.

Nope I'm fine with being Black American. If anything the diaspora including Africans tends to look towards us to find their "black pride"

Really now? Abakua is not aba-ku-a but abakwa. And Carabalí is not Cara BA li, but CarabaLÍ. Rumba is ROOM-ba not RUM-ba. But otherwise well done.

😍 loved this. Cuba made a trong impact in America and even other continent music. There's so many rhythms made with the Cuban conga drums and bongoes. Also we got an ancien African rhythm that was almost forgotten and we brought it back to life. Our ancestors brought the Cuban Clave, that was an ancient Nigerian rhythm, that's the base of all Cuban music geners or the most of them, also the modern afro beats. Cuba influenced to music like rumba from Congo, that is actually a cousin of our rumba, our music got to Africa and they lived it. Is like they got back a part of themselves but with the Cuban flavor. Salsa has touched the world..and Cuba is the country mother of that music and dance. And also there's so many music around the world that people don't even know is ours 😅. As Cuban, I really love the fact that Afrocuban culture is opened to the world, and make us part of every culture the same way Africa does. As another Island daughter of Africa..like the other Greater and lesser west indies countries...We are proud of our African culture. We are all part of Africa, even though we might be different, speak different languages, we all feel the african genes running through our blood. And also all afro diaspora all around the world ❤❤❤

Exactly..i met a girl here n new orleans..cuban descent..shes a so called die-hard christian, who loves Salsa and after i told her the history of Salsa..rumba and the drums..she started cursing..saying rumba music wasnt born out of the african slaves and Lukumi..she said it was Spain,i let her go with her Christian beliefs
