@@blasianbombflower8828to be fair the warriors didn’t have a enough good big to run two man with cp3 which is why we knew that fit wouldn’t work ….cp3 with Steven Adam’s and Ayton made the playoffs it’s safe to say he can make the playin with wemby
@@mr.bojangles9820we would’ve just kept Dillingham who is a better option if spurs wanted a scoring gaurd with poor defense ..we got cp3 castle vassell and jones now at the guards we are set we should go for a 2/3 who can defend and shoot Gary Trent Jr is a great pick up
@user-yt7uc2rm2p spurs are known for developing players and could benefit for a low risk high reward player. Even if they want to trade him in the future
@@mr.bojangles9820 ok so lemme explain this so even a toddler can understand . Bones Hyland is under contract so they would have to trade for him which creates risk that makes no sense when you could have just kept dillingham not to mention you have devontae graham on the roster..We don’t need Bones 🦴
@user-yt7uc2rm2p that was aggressive and offensive for someone giving their opinion. In the end are we both affected by these outcomes? Since we know that we aren't, just chill out brother. Respectively
Y’all missing the point CP3 when on the court statically he makes the TEAM better plus he’s one of the BEST facilitators in the history of the sport they’ll learn from him and Wemby a sleeper for mvp this upcoming season CP3 could get 10 ast just to him
I dont think people understand how DANGEROUS the SPURS ARE NOW. CP3 is probably THE BEST PICK AND ROLL PG I've seen. As a die-hard SPURS FAN, he upset the Spurs so much since his New Orleans days w Tyson Chandler then lob city with Griffin and Jordan. BUT the Spurs 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS revolved around the PICK AND ROLL offense w Parker and Duncan. They literally just brought back the ORIGINAL SPURS TYPE OF PLAY W these 2 players only....
CP can give a good 25/30 minutes a night playing at his pace. They'll have to put a lot of long, athletic guys around him. If they could switch well and shoot, the other pieces might decide how far they could go Glad they'll have mainly just one backup point guard now as well for CP. Instead of rotating 2 below average starting PG's
@@olimercer835 Well, the good 20-25 minutes is quite relative tbh cos how good can he get right now? We saw him at GSW last season and his legs were literally gone. The pace at which he moves at is very slow.. they should have gone for Trae Young instead, don't see any significant improvement CP3 has to give them, the best they do is win more games, they ain't finishing higher than 12th.
@SmartPsychopat1 LOL He was ALL NBA season before last... All he need to do IS PASSS THE LOB and control the offense! Players today dont age like the 90s players did. HES GONNA BE JUST FINE.
@@Indigo3.7 Yes he was an All NBA player before he joined GSW but that's how quick a player can turn especially if you are In your late 30's.. CP3 legs are gone, he is absolutely irrelevant defensively & offensively, there's now limit to what he can do cos he is now easier to cover than his previous years... Spurs won't have any "significant" improvement.. they should have gone for trae young
People forget bc wemby wasnt in the playoffs but hes the most dominant on both sides of the ball, possibly all time if he can do this for a decade or so.
man, these commentators just insert their baseless thoughts into their statements like they're fact. Victor didn't want to lose, but no one in SA was expecting playoffs. There was zero disgruntled feelings from the players and staff about not meeting some kind of expectations where the team could've contended on any level. ESPN is so in love with adding drama to an organization that always went at their own pace
# of people who think adding a 40 year old dude who played 58 games for like 20 minutes last year is going to take a 20-win team to a play off birth is wild. cp3 as veteran presence is huge but spurs have another year before greatness.
He played 20 mins because he was playing for the warriors and they were experimenting.... Cp was playing terrific game, with literally no turnover, making shots
@@tonberrygaming3267 bulls protected pic next year. That’s likely not gonna convey anyway. Bt agreed that should be enough since Lauri is on an expiring deal
Klay has a chance to knock down a lot of shots… playing with two other offensive threats who collapse the defense. They could def be in the finals again
Good signing and CP3 can be more like a coach. CP3 will be injured most of the season and playing 18 minutes a game isn't going to suddenly get them into the playoffs. This isn't the CP3 of 5 to 10 years ago. Not going to make as big of an impact as people think. Potentially him and Pop might not even get along lol.
Spurs are a year away from contention. I really like castle and they stocked up on picks so nxt year they can draft another top 10 pick and maybe package picks and players for a big name star tocpair with their young duo
All this crybaby, miserable minded talk from Klay is ridiculous. The man got paid MAX MONEY for 2 straight years he was hurt, he wasn’t miserable then tho wasn’t he? The guy had a down year this season. Get over it and play better next year. This is all mostly because he didn’t get a better $$$ offer from GS. Cause if had got it, we wouldn’t be sitting here thru this bs talking about him being sad and miserable this season. These athletes always preach and talk about their “struggles” getting to the league and how it made them mentally stronger but then forget about those struggles when they don’t get the contract they FEEL they should get. Cry me a river. Tired of these max money players always complaining about something.
Doubtful, CP3 getting washed. Bro was All-NBA in 2022, then top 40 in 2023, now top 100 in 2024. He'll be mid by 2025. The only reason Spurs could make Play-In is if Wemby becomes an MVP candidate the way Giannis was in 2017
Your ESPN. 4k quality should be expected. Want to support the content, but the quality is lazy. If broke streamers can do it there is no excuse. I'll start watching ESPN again and subscribe when they tighten up. Ridiculous in 2024....
@@Shortballa11 keep jock sniffing. Dallas was worse than them before Allstar break and the last 2 months of the season Wemby was unstoppable. Beat Denver Boston OKC and Wolves by himself
@@iguesss whose jock am I sniffing exactly? Spurs won a total of 22 games last season. If you are trying to prop that up, then you can literally do that with any team. They arent going from 22 wins to 50 wins in a season unless they complete this Lauri trade. Even then they will likely just be in contention for the playoffs in the 40-45 win range
Coach Pop …. Please sign Gordon Hayward on the veteran minimum and trade Johnson/Champagnie/Bassey/1st rounder for DeAndre Ayton … I live in San Diego but I love the Spurs! Time for deep playoff runs again!
There is a limit to what a 39yr old CP3 can do with this San Antonio Spurs tewm.. Yes, he's a point god who has a track record of improving teams but i don't see a much improvement from them. They won't even be in the play-in spot, the best they can do with this roaster is finih 12th on this table.
FOH!! the spurs are still years away from making the playin tournament 😂😂 they’re still sorry asf! And playing in the western conference nope! Maybe they’ll get 26 or 27 wins the most
😂😂😂😂 they are NOT making the play in… cp3 is terrible. He was dead weight in Golden State and will suck in San Antonio. He can’t play any defense is slow and always outta shape and injured
Take pressure...OFF POPOVICH? ARE YOU ON DOPE? Theres no one in the league with more security than popovich. They could lose in the 1st round or win 15 games and each is a victory for this spurs team longterm
Question is which player will have bigger impact on there team? So if it is Klay I'd expect a guaranteed title... I have to agree with Perk... I know cp3 is not gonna be producing good stats I got 3 players from the spurs who will have better stats than him except assists but on and off court he's gonna be a gem, but also I have to go with pg13
Am i the only one who thought this move was dumb? This gonna be another waste of a season. I wanna see cp3 COMPETE for a ring not prepare the next generation. He couldve chose anywhere else.
It’s funny how some of the greatest players never got over the hump. Think about a guy Patrick Ewing a monstrous player of a person, great player but never won a championship. Chris Paul will be a great mentor in San Antonio.
lol y'all act like this is 2005 CP3. Dude has been falling off AND missing considerable amount of games every year. He went to SA to end his career and get into coaching.
Sometimes Nostalgia is so toxic, this is a competition and if you don't perform well in a team sports, you're bringing everyone else down with you (in the biggest stage of all, for that matter).
This is more about CP3 mentoring Tre Jones, Vassell, and Castle than Wemby. With that said, the biggest impact if healthy will come from PG 13 as the third option in Philly.
Who TF thinks he's winning a title with this move? No one, not even me, and I've been a huge CP3 fan day 1. It's about him helping the future of ANOTHER organization. This means by the time he hangs it up, CP3 will have seriously positively impacted 6 franchises (albeit without having won a chip): NO, LAC, HOU, OKC, PHX, and the Spurs before retiring. That's wild.
@@SamuraiFoochs CP3 was in OKC for SGA's first season there, definitely impacted his development. He can do the same for Wemby. That would be two MVP candidates in a few years who he helped. Setting himself up for a coaching job in the future.
So JJ has two head coaches as his real coaches 🤔 what’s the over/under on one of those vastly most experienced coaches replacing him before the end of the season???
