After Life - Season 3 (Episode 5 & 6 ) REACTION!! 

Lisa’s speech/ poem at the end. Sobbing!!! This show is beautiful. Loved every minute of it. Ricky did wonders with this show.

They made a lot of this in my home town, the very end killed me, my heart just broke. The tears were uncontrollable

There's me, watching someone watching my favourite series ever. I'm a 64 year old man. Must have become a bit of a softie getting older for I more or less cried like you cried and made more or less the same comments, to myself or outloud - in French though - except I cried 3 times at the very end. One for the ending, two because I ALWAYS shed tears over Joni Mitchell's "Both sides now", three for the overall scene. And man, it's good to cry sometimes. As good as to have a laugh.

The ending really got to me, specifically when the dog disappears before Tony. For me that was a look into the future, Lisa has died, then the dog will die and then eventually Tony will die.

Severely underrated show. Ricky Gervais is a genius

I quite like that they didn't get him into a new relationship. It shows that you need to be ok on your own before jumping in and trying to fill a hole in your heart. That's not fair on the other person OR yourself.

Ricky in an interview said the ending meant life goes on, no matter what you're feeling, no matter what you got going on, it goes on regardless. You should do Derek!!

Liked your reaction. Had seen the show but went through it with you again. Ricky shows he is a brilliant actor. Not many actors you see cry in real time. No cut or edit. It should have won the BAFTAS and EMMYS but because he is so independant I think they are snubbing him in a way. I hope season 3 will get at least the BAFTAS. This is one of the best shows in the last years. Shows his kind heart. He has told that there were many carers in the family and he got ideas for Derek and I suppose After Life too. Just saw Toast of London with Matt Berry (IT Crowd). On Netflix. Absolutely brilliant absurd comedy. Soo good. Would like you to do a reaction on that. The poetry lady is in it.

New subscriber here. I was looking for a reaction on this incredible series, and there were very few which is unbelievable. Anyway, I chose yours Kev and definitely chose right. Watching you go though the same emotions as I did was lovely. I had stage 4 lymphoma and was given two months to live if I didn't have chemotherapy. It's been three years now since I finished, and every day matters. My girlfriend has been my rock, watching my children grow is the best thing ever, and my grandson a blessing. This TV show has to be the greatest achievement, comedy and tragedy, only Ricky could come up with such an idea, and make it work. The part that had me was Cath saying she was lonely, my god, don't know why but many parts brought a tear to my eye, but that just did it. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but my take on the ending after watching a few times now is, as he walks away, his wife stays with him for some time, then his dog dies next, before he actually does. The seasons change as he is walking meaning over a period of time. Great reaction Kev, I highly recommend Derek if you haven't seen it as it has all the same characters and it also has a fantastic story.

Yes!!! I'm so glad it isn't a love story. Life doesn't work that way. When you lost the love of your life you don't wan't to get with another one after. This is much more realistic. He enjoyed Emma's company, but didn't want to stand in the way of her getting what he had with Lisa.

Yeah I think the ending was that all the trees and the grass and the and the fair is all still there. It was there when he met his wife and with his dog, and it’s there when him his wife and dog aren’t there anymore in life. But everything is still the same the same park and fair and everything. Life moves on “after life” he watched a number of people’s journeys only starting in love.

I was feeling just the same where they went with Emma and Tony. Seems like a strange kind of message to see on TV, essentially Tony won’t ever find anyone else and that’s okay? I guess.

It might help if you watch some of the tutorials on how to make a video! You seem to have recorded music from a radio or TV in another room and because you are using some awful compression software, it has made this low audio to the same level and louder than your voice. You should always check before posting videos, then it gives you time to correct mistakes like this. People expect better quality. We do not want to hear your radio or TV on in the next room when you are recording! You would be better ditching that huge old fashioned microphone and wearing a small clip on mic and the audio will be of far better quality.

Afterlife is so mawkish and poorly written. I really can't understand why its so popular and this is coming from a big Gervais fan. Unfunny repetitive use of the C word, 2 dimensional characters, repetitive episode structure. Not to mention the stupid straw man characters that only serve as a way to make Gervais' character look smart and the female characters to fawn over his greatness. Usually I keep negative comments to myself but its such a contrast to the nuanced Office and Extras which were both great and had genuinely touching moments.
