also when you disconnect your battery, your ecu will reset and your car will have to re-lern the throttle mapping so your car will drive like poop for 500 miles. nothing is broken so don't freak out
Every front pipe on FT86Speedfactory will fit the BRZ/FRS/86 regardless of year. I have the Berk HFC Front Pipe, but the PLM Front Pipe is just fine. If you want to pay a little more the Motiv is great too.
It doesn't add an amazing amount of room. There's another aftermarket wheel that looks very similar to the stock one that is a 350mm wheel instead of 365mm that could help you. If i remember its name I'll update this. I'm also in the market for a new wheel as I'm 6'7" however I'm waiting until I get a new seat.
@@Phymatic I was looking into seats too. The speed shop that I go to suggests Braum for both tall and bigger guys. Thanks for the info regarding the steering wheel.
I can't look it up now but I believe they're Cusco wheels. Few different styles available that retain the airbag at 350mm. I believe the SpeedFactory ones are 365mm but there's not a lot of info on their website about specifics unfortunately. Goodluck with your tall man - small car life. I know them feels.
@@andoniades Thanks mate. I live in Australia so our laws regarding seats are pretty strict. I'd have to look into seeing if the Braum would pass our standards.
I have a question for the 2017+ steering wheel when you're taking them apart and take of the plastic bit with the buttons, are the buttons stuck on the plastic or can you remove them to paint the plastic that is connected with the buttons, mine is silver and I would rather want it black, that's why I'm asking if I had to tape of the buttons or if I could remove the buttons from the plastic to paint them?
@@zeffke008 I think the toyota OEM Black steering wheel trim that cost 30$ is only fro 2013-2016 because the 2017+ looks different because of the black buttons, but I still want to know if I can take the buttons of because I'm gonna spray can paint them black myself when I get the time to do it
@@zeffke008 if you google 2013 steering wheel and 2017+ and look at the middle part and see the difference.... there is a huge difference, I own 2018 and I have had SOO many problems finding front lip, spoiler and stuff for the 2017+ because there is so much that does not fit between facelift and prefacelift versions :/
So I recently installed an after market steering wheel on my 2015 FRS. First timer here, followed all the steps to install and realized once I turned my car on it feels looser than the original. No lights come on though. Should I be worried?
Can’t get my aftermarket wheel to line up even after following the instructions and keeping everything straight after removing the stock wheel. Any ideas or tips?
I just saw the price for that awesome looking steering wheel and it is $499 OMGosh 😲 😲 😲 Way out of my range and after I import it, it will be twice that amount 😔
This might be a dumb question, but if i have a 1st gen frs/brz that didn't have buttons on the steering wheel to begin with, would i be able to use this steering wheel and have the buttons function properly, or no?
@@FTspeed I'm interested in upgrading my 17 base to lcd cluster, would I do this but instead of removing the wheel, remove the 2 screws for the button trim and replace the buttons and plug and play? Really not trying to mess with the clockspring and wheel assembly
@@jedifar To remove the instrument gauge cluster you dont have to remove the wheel. Watch this video to see how its removed - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SzcI2piuojs.html
Does anyone know if it is a straight up swap for the base model 86 steering wheel, to the gts steering wheel, I would like to use the control buttons to operate the stereo.
Does anyone know if you can get the black steering wheel button trim by itself? I know it comes on certain models, but I'm looking to change it out on my 2019 BRZ PP without having to buy an entire wheel from like a tS or something
Does anybody know what to do if my yellow clips for the clock spring are broken off and there’s still bits of it left in that don’t allow me to remove it?? 😐
I know the steering wheel specifies 2017+ but is it by chance still compatible with the 2012 86 GTS? I'm looking to replace my head unit & getting a steering wheel with media controls on it. Was hoping to stick with the OEM versions if I could but might go after market if it's easier to get/find here.
