Toc is one of my favorite characters of all time. He is part of The Claw but is also part of the Bridgeburners as an outside attachment but he wants to be a complete Bridgeburner. He knows that the Bridgeburners look at him with a bit of side-eyeing. And, yes, a Toc and Tool sitcom would be rad!

DUDE! I just finished chapter 9 and came back to finish this video! You were right, these books keep getting better and better!! I haven't been this excited about a book in a long time! I'm tempted to start a YT channel to join in on the conversations. I dont even need the explanations I just like having someone to talk to who's as into this series as I am so far!

Good take, very good video. About Shadowthrone, I think his game is a lot bigger and goes all the way back to path of ascendancy and what he found on the Azath. Here we get to see the first move against them by an established ascendant/god. I also think that vengeance is not very high in their priorities and they're more in to recruiting Whiskeyjack and the BB. They want to do a show of power and what better way than to spit on their betrayer in the same move.
Ya, I think Wu got a little emotional and sidetracked in GotM, because if you look at his original plan and the end game in tCG, it wasn't about revenge at all.
@@IskarJarak yes, I think he planned to relinquish the empire but not to her. SPOILER ahead It was supposed to be either WJ, Dassem or even any of the other non ascended fists. I don't think he would've minded that much if it was Surly (even if she was just another noble who thought she was owed power) the one that followed him but she went too far against him and all his people after the betrayal. I also think that his plan needed some amount of control over the malazan military machine and we cant forget that he is the master of shadow, the appearance of petty revenge was also a move imo.
Really enjoy these chapter summaries. I'm in the middle of Bonehunters and this is reminding me of many of the building blocks I have forgotten at this point. Keep it up!

Thanks man. I am just starting in #8. I hate it but I lost # 7 while I was gone for a while and did not get the rundown on Karsa and Icarium and the damn emporer. Got the wiki cliff notes but still feel a little left out. Keep it up and I gona keep viewing
Thank you for these vids. So hard to follow as I'm new to the world. I've been slogging through and now in Book 2. I've read everywhere that memories of ice is one of the best fantasy books ever so slogging through for the payoff that is memories of ice.
@@IskarJarak the early parts are tough to follow but it gets better as book reaches near end. Lots of great characters to latch onto. Magic system is like Greek gods with a touch of ciris (witcher) ability to traverse parallel worlds - i see lots of potential with this. Can't wait to go through all 20+ books.
