Motorcycle tires are shaped the way they are shaped for a reason. The bead and sidewall suck in further than the tread so you still have a good contact patch while leaned over turning. Now remember those stretched tires when your ass is sliding across the pavement watching your grom do the same.
You didn't notice that the rim was way way wider than the tire? He used the strap to "flatten" out the tire so to speak. By pulling the tire in towards the rim he was able to hit it with the compressed air in the tank thingy and that in turn allowed the tire bead to seat properly. He then finished it off with air from the compressor and he slowed down the video to allow you to see the tire bead popping in place
It's almost as if there is a reason motor cycle tires are shaped the way they are and don't have flat sidewalls like cars do. How are cars and bikes fundamentally different? Oh, right, cars don't lean and don't need a contact patch further up the side of the tire....
@@Chopped93VX this will lead to a lawsuit once the owner causes an accident. I know if I got hit and saw some wheels like this on the car I would be a rich man once my lawyer got a hold of my case.
@@lewisderfuss7537 I get stretching tires on cars to an extent, none of the crazy stuff you see on ricer stance cars. But 1/2"-1" of stretch on a car tire can really improve grip. But on a motorcycle tire? Hell no, those things corner faster than the average person would ever want to, and GP teams don't stretch their tires. He's doing it for the form, not function. That's just factual, stretching tires on bikes nets you no gains, unlike subtle tire stretching on performance cars. But you're right, if I got hit by a motorcycle and saw stretched tires. His ass would be in court before he got out of his casts.
@@Chopped93VXThere is stretching and there is stretching. This is over stretching at the max. 1st time I see this with motorbike tyres. Over here in The Netherlands you see them also honda's, vw polo's, ect. 195/50-13 on 10 jx 13 rims. Looks so dumb,imho........
@@Joop.23-2-63 yeah, that overstretched thing the ricer/stance community does, is stupid. A little stretch can be a good thing for traction. But as the old saying goes "too much of a good thing, can be a bad thing"
