Thanks for the detailed response. In further listening this morning I have petty much settled on the TRI Clarions for sound over the S&S. Slightly more expansive and special :) However the S&S are more comfortable.

What is "demagnetizing my audio signal path" - Is that the description of 'burn-in' of the IEM? or going by the context of your usage, the cables, am guessing.

@@Maheshutube I want to be cautious of starting a massive debate on Stephen's post here but the demagnetizing sweep tone that I have used for about two decades now came as a test tone track, along with a "burn-in" pink noise track, on the AudioSource LLC5 sound utility CD that I own (and have made digital). The demagnetizing sweep tone track plays a sinewave tone that sweeps gradually from low to high (20hz to 20khz) and is supposed to demagnetize any magnetic buildup in components and copper wiring (and maybe even other types) after many hours of use. Again, a lot of this to a lot of folks will seem like audio industry "snake oil" but to my ears, I do hear a difference after playing the track. I find that it somehow removes bass bloat/smear in my audio signal path. To give an example of what I mean, it's like applying a filter going from a warmish, thick audio sound signature to a neutral one. This is then done again after about 100+ hours of music being played to "reset" things again. Again, ymmv and this is just how I perceive it and what I have done out of habit. I will leave it at that. If you want, there are a lot of "heated" discussions on the topic from either side (believers and non-believers) on the web that you can search and read into those comments. I just wanted to respond since you asked and also to add my two cents in on what I hear, which I think is a necessary statement to include when talking about new things with others. As an end note, just keep enjoying the music and neat gear if anything...

@@infiniteuniverse805 thanks for the detailed response. I remember these demagnetisers floating around in the 80s..TDK brand (in my country) iirc for the tape cassette decks. Interesting.

I had to get out my Galileos after your mention of them. To my ears, not even close! The bass on the MagicOne is both deeper and more “solid”. The Galileo might be as loud but it is mushy by comparison. Mids are much clearer and cleaner on the MagicOne and the treble is smoother and stronger. And the sense of space is just way better on the MagicOnes. I like the natural sound of the Galileo, its strong point as far as I am concerned, but the MagicOne sounds to me to be even more natural, and a lot more fun :) They might graph similarly but they certainly do not sound the same.

@@StephenIngraham btw do you use a DAP or run off phone. I use apple music. Phone battery drains with dongle on phone. Thinking of hibyM300..

@@Maheshutube I have a Shanling M1s for use on planes etc but run through a dongle or desktop dac when streaming from my iPhone and Mac Air. Never direct from the phone.
