Im new to iem. I only own 3 for now. And i think burn in is real at least to an extent. After 50hr i can hear my iems become more cohesive and the sound being tighter. The sound separation improve due to that.
Excellent and interesting review, I have the EA500 and am reasonably happy with them but my preference is for a slightly warmer vocal Do you think the Mei would be better in that regard? Your opening shots shows how far cameras have come, amazing detail. You may like to know that Mei is pronounced May
Thanks for the pronunciation tip. I was going by what I have heard others call it. :) I am not sure I would call the Mei “warmer” than the EA500. The bass is more present by a bit, but the overall sound of the Mei is “clear and clean”…not “cold” mind you…but not lush and warm either. ??? If you are looking for a warm rich sound, among the iems I have tried the Kiwi Ears Quartet comes closest to that…but I am sure there are many others that I have just not heard. Check some reviews of the Zero Red.
@@StephenIngraham hi I bought the original Zero, it was my first foray into the world of IEM's, "cold" and soulless is how I would describe it. Thanks for the tip on the Kiwi Ears I'll look into it. I used to live in New Zealand, the home of the Kiwi, it would be quite apt if the namesake was what I'm looking for.
