Barry Pencek was a Cobra pilot with the US Marines based at Marble Mountain in I Corps, South Vietnam. He participated in Operation Tailwind, a diversion ancillary to Operation Gauntlet in Laos (September 1970). As a Cobra pilot, he provided security for CH-53 helicopters that moved SOG forces (Green Berets and Montagnard allies) into Laos.
