No, it wasn't Bro. Both Eric B. & Rakim and Public Enemy released their first albums each in 1987.

Started a Radio show at the college with Hank Shocklee. Flav was a guest. 84 Rick Rubin Heard and approached Chuck who was known as Chucky D to make a Solo Album. Chuck says in his Autobiography that all the Rhymes on "Yo Go Bum rush the Show" was written in 80. But the group wasn't formed until 85. But that is totally different from Eric B and Rakim which there beginning Was 12 months before there release. Rakim was Eric's second choice. Wow

Took the rhymes record back then, put them to New beats and production from Def Jam. You choose out of 25 songs done to pick which ones make the album and what order. Nic picking Shit about nothing. It not what was said or how it was worded, the point is if Knuckles was home Eric B Would not have met Rakim. I'm sorry I'm not wording thing to YOUR liking.

You made a major claim, and if you are going to make a major claim on social media, where millions of people are going to read your content, then you HAVE to be specific about what you say and you have to be accurate, otherwise, people are going to check you and correct you. Universally, people can only go by an official release date that is documented and put out on public record for ANY artist and ANY of their publications. Anything that goes on or went on "behind the scenes" you have to be specific about that. That being said, Rakim and I were both born in January of 1968, so he could not possibly have been writing these lyrics in the late '70s and Def Jam was "officially" formed in 1984. So, no matter how you slice it, to say that "this was recorded 8 years before it was released" just could not be possible. If that hurts your feelings, then it's too bad. Learn to write and word your sentences better.
