Annex competency tile seems like a powerful one, and all of the players took it at some point during the game.

Regarding the "Schools" innovation tile at 1:34:39 There's a response on a BGG thread from Helge Ostertag where they clarify that the school is built first, and then you get the competency tile. Not the other way around.

It's also been clarified that when taking the "terraform and build" action, you have to build on the hex you terraformed. (If you terraform multiple hexes by splitting 2 or 3 shovels, you build on the first one)

Looks crunchy and interesting from a gameplay perspective but I am worried it might be a bit too dry for me. Gaia Project had somewhat more interesting theming. This one? I have no idea what anything is supposed to represent. PS: the blue hand on a stick pointing at things was cracking me up during the teach :D

Played it yesterday and I felt it was too abstract themingwise for my taste. Im a mechanism type of gamer so no issue with that aspect but the arch/story of the game is so har for me to grasp. Played all TM, GP, TN and this once. I feel the same about all. Great games i just dont get what the heck is going on haha

GP has more of a spatial awareness/manipulation aspect to it. while sometimes i think needing movement is cumbersome while playing i think i prefer it to this. unless im missing something.

At 2:23:00 -ish, how come Ken gets a competency tile when he built a city?

The competency tile comes from building his university, which was what caused the city.

I appreciate you going for the draft rules that were used and favoured by the playtesters. With the draft already being the advanced variant, I don't get why they changed it in the rulebook to make it simpler at the expense of game balance for the advanced players, without playtesting it first.

Palace tiles gets drafted and added as well ? I thought You can get those only when palace is built

It's an alternative drafting.

@@matissmatiss3126 You're right for the regular rules, but the draft variant (p.18 in the rulebook) has them be drafted instead. Sadly, some specifics of the draft rules were changed from those tested and liked by the experienced TM players that playtested the game.

At 1:03:15 : didn't Ken do two actions in one turn? First a special action to cycle power and then a power action to get money?

Ok, at 1:13:19 Edward addresses this, but I don't get it. He definitely used the special action of his faction to cycle power and immediately took a power action to get the money or am I missing something? To be clear, I'm not talking about the scholar he took for 3 power. That happened later.

Never mind. It's because of the special action of the Psychics. They can immediately perform a second action. 😅

Hey Edward, Besides the books and the change from priests to scholars, how is this different from Terra Mystica? It looks exactly the same mechanically (at least up to this part of the video - I am currently up to 1:05:29). Thanks.

One of the bigger innovations (pun intended) is uncoupling faction with color and palace IMHO

not trying to be a debbie-downer but this is just terra mystica with several added things that are just more of the same..nothing to add just rehashed mechanics from TM so my question is....i luv TM so should i spend 80$ on this game when its essentially the same game

Sorry to say but watching 1h of this video made me hate this game before even trying it and i'm so tired i need to go to sleep. Almost 40min for just a setup and picking up "nations". After 70min i have no idea how this game works, no one explain a thing and all you do is analysis paralis for every single action...
