the Anvil of Apotheosis character generation has existed for a little while in narrative AoS. The rules have been included in a couple of previous publications, so it's already a known entity. What is cool about where they are heading to 4th ed. sounds like specific Anvil of Apotheosis rules will be baked into the indiviudal battletomes, giving room for very flavorful character generation, as opposed to universal rules for the whole of AoS to use. Check out the Thondia book and the General's Handbook 2022-23 for the prior editions of Anivl of Apotheosis.

Ah okay interesting I never realised they had already sort of done it already in handbooks etc. I’ve never seen them mention it for a new edition straight off though which is pretty cool. Like you say looking forward to seeing how much they can build on it then too.

I'm almost surprised how exited I am about spearhead. Especially considering how little I could care about combat patrol. It just sounds like a good time. I already know I'm gonna grab that Flesh-eater Courts box after 4th edition comes out.

Since Slayers are in TOW and, so far anyway, GW seems committed to keeping AoS and TOW separate... I wonder if Fyreslayers are long for AoS. They’ve not much rules and model wise, as you point out, but I don’t know how you expand them into a full army without a major rework.

Yeh it’s sad really. I think they will keep them as there are still a lot of models in there that they wouldn’t want to scrap. There are a few things they could add. Cavalry sized Magmadroths for one.

Dwarf Slayers and Fyreslayers aren't the same and are distinct. Same can be said about High Elves & Lumineth. FS never had any WFB model in their range. I don't worry about them, FS isn't the army with less amount of models

I am very very cautiously optimistic about Spearhead. Its very likely that GW won't update them after release and that means all the competitive players and RU-vidrs will drop the format like a hot potato.

Yeh that is the only thing I forgot to mention actually is that they likely won’t update it. But we shall see.

Im excited for spearhead, seems pretty similar to 40k's combat patrol. But yeah im not gonna get too invested into the systems becuase im sure 6 months after 4th ed launch people won't care about it anymore, kinda like combat patrol

@deadmo8425 it’s a nice entry point but you I wouldn’t invest long term.
