Age of Sigmar Lore: Clans Eshin 

This is a clan that could do with some new models, like what they did in total war Warhammer they added a unit called death runners to be a glass cannon, they could definitely give then a shadowy wizard and sum wired tech for them to use and maybe some of there own artillery and higher up leader options as well as monster, maybe a version of a rat oger or wolf rats, definitely a centre peace model would help them, finally a bunch of assassin variations would be good like what they did in 40k.

Some of the interesting lore can be found in snippets, Clan Eshin has influence all over the place and not just in Skaven society. In the Warhammer Community site they do mention that Eshin has spies in all places, they even have a personal gnawhole the leads right into Sigmar's throne-room. They even witnessed Sigmar's plans to reconquer the mortal realms and shared it with their secret master while all the other Chaos gods remained ignorant of the coming of the Stormcast Eternals. www.warhammer-community.com/2019/02/26/26th-feb-lore-of-the-skaven-gnawholes-101gw-homepage-post-2/ There is also a story in the Malign Portents story "The Great Black Pyramid" where a gutter runners and assassins undermine Nagash's ritual which causes the necroquake. malignportents.com/story/the-great-black-pyramid/ It appears that in every course of major events in AoS lore, the Clans Eshin have been a mover and witness to all of them.

Even if a Skaven wasn't interested in becoming a Death Master for political reasons (however unlikely) I'm sure that they'd want to become one just for that sick-ass cape the Death Masters have.

Loved Clan Eshin ever since my brother started collecting skaven back in the day (6th edition if I remember correctly), he was more of a Moulder/Skryre guy though. As far as favourite models go, it probably has to go to the Verminlord Deceiver, but that's mainly due to the fact that he's the only plastic model that isn't outdated. Completely agree that they should get a bigger model range and if not their own tome some kind of supplement or something. Because a faction of ninja rats sounds completely nuts for all the right reasons. A bit sad that they didn't get any new toys, I had some hopes after that one skaven enemy from silver tower. Oh well, if the rumours that GW want to move away from resin by 2022 are true, then we're bound to get at least new gutter runners and deathmasters sometime in the next few years. Also, as far as lore goes, maybe we will find out some more as Ulgu is explored further as a realm, Malerion is in Ulgu and I assume he will get his faction of aelves at some point, fleshing out both him as well as the realm in general.

i just realized that there is an aspect of Skaven that fits with all the other chaos gods,, reflected on one or two big clans.

Eshin was always my favourite Skaven clan, especially because of Snickh (or however you spelt the assassin character's name lol)

back in the day you used to also have Night Runner tunneling teams and netters as well as slingers. One of the best things that's in Total War Warhammer but not ever actually been in Warhammer are the Gutter Runner shuriken throwers.. they do A LOT of damage. Oh and assassins and then Deathmaster Snikitch. (I miss special characters) There was a really good story in the old book that talked about how a Warlord or Grey Seer was overseeing a battle and an assassin stepped out of the shadows behind him without him realizing it and spoke right into his ear (issuing orders from above) and he let out a little musk of fear and then just as imperceptibly the assassin left before he knew it while the Warlord/Seer was still talking to him. And then when he realized he was alone he wanted to scream out and cuss him out but he was too afraid he might still be there or another may be lurking in another shadow... so he kept it inside and silently cursed Eschin. Really great fluff story that shows just how the Skaven react to them.

Imagine a tv series/series of novels about a human orphan raised to be a Clan Eshin assassin. "X was originally meant to die by the paws of Squeakmor's spawn, as a hard lesson on how not to grow too attached to their pets. But when the whelp had not only managed to survive his childhood, but also singlehandedly wiped out/subdued all 13 of his adopted siblings..."

Some people say that Clans Eshin seem unusually skilled and intelligent, but I say all the other clans are as much so in other ways.

From a game design perspective I think the night runners are what give you wiggle room. Since they are rookies that can't sneak well you can say they are serving as a distraction unit while other units could have special rules to either hide in terrain, enter the board in unique ways, or perhaps hide in night runner units much like fantastics in gloomspite do. Your opponent is left wondering where the hero killing units are going to pop out at while fending off the hordes

To best way to create a Battletome for Clans Aragon is to write them like the Alpha Legion, particularly from the Horus Heresy. That book is the best way to portray an army of lies and mystery.

Am I the only one thinking that the Eshin's bonuses are weak? Is there something I am not seeing? this is personally my favorite clan, but I can't seem to make them competative on the tabletop.
