A lot of the early pre-Winter Soldier episodes get either small tie-ins like that or big payoffs in later seasons. It's a really neat thing.

Well I mean that introduced to a larger extent, the index which came to become a large plot device for season 2, plus it has a ton of character development and was our first look into May's backstory, not that useless of an episode. It was also the first episode Agent Davis was in, even if it was just for a quick scene.

It's funny because they are referencing 1x09 which is the episode the episode where Davis showed up for the first time and now he's here. ;)

Traveling between dimensions turned out to be an applicable concept to Ghost - the villain in Ant Man and the Wasp

@@bifa5414 Everything is "science based" because science is isn't about what your looking into or what exists, its about understanding it. Magic would just be studied and at most become its own field of scientific study. Magic and science are not at all the same and therefore do not exclude or conflict with each other.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Daisy got shade this episode, but it more Fitz baring his own insecurities than Daisy's character being blamed.

@@Rida-il8nq - Well considering that the Sorcerers where in existence for thousands of years on Earth, we cannot say that it was limited to Asgard; only that what we could call "mainstream humanity" had forgotten magic in favor of science. But, as Thor specifically mentions Science and magic are "one and the same" (The Ancient one reinforced that notion when she mentioned that spell were like "programs"). Contrary to the DC universe who, at least so far, seems to be going with magic being it's own thing which is opposite of science, the MCU has maintained that magic and science are interchangeable (... And before a DC vs. MARVEL nerd-war begins, let me clarify that I am NOT saying that one is right and the other is wrong; only that they are different and that MARVEL's approach has been consistent from the beginning)

I feel the same. If there was one thing I was “meh” on in season 4 it was these ghosts.

Everything can be scienced. Science isn't bound by any rules that mean it can't explain selling your soul. I mean thats just a transaction with another being. The nature of the being hardly matters and is merely more stuff to study. Science is just us figuring shit out. The whole point of science is to explain "magic" if you remember its origins. Instead of stories of Thor you get understanding of lightning and thunder. In the MCU you go from a mythical god to a flesh one who can be dissected. The truth and "magic" didn't change, you just understand it better now.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

From a fairly recent X-men comic a time travelling young Beast with Doctor Strange's help managed to use magic by seeing it as equations meaning Magic is something in the Marvel universe akin to Physics it can be studied, understood and replicated thus it's just science that most of the universe doesn't understand yet.

If you want a scientific explanation, the thing inside of him is a being that comes from another dimension that has different rules than ours.

Not that much of a spoiler, really... the 616 Patriot, while sharing the same name, wasn't an inhuman, in fact he didn't even have superpowers... he was just a guy in a colourful costume punching nazis back in WWII inspired by Captain America, at times affiliated with the Liberty Legion and, after the war, the All-Winners Squad. He was the third Captain America (if you don't count Isaiah Bradley) from 1946 to 1950, taking the mantle after the death of the hero previously known as the Spirit of '76, who'd taken the shield after Rogers and Barnes vanished in 1945.

Right? Fitz has been through a lot but up to now he's always come out winning (he got Jemma back, he recovered from his trauma). Daisy's arcs just involve her constantly losing a shitton of people even when she wins, with her parents and Lincoln. Not to say Daisy's necessarily right for turning away from the team, but if Jemma had actually died between S2 and S3 I think Fitz wouldn't have reacted too differently from Daisy. Say what you will about Daisy, but at least she isn't actively risking her own teammates' lives and health. Fitz's method of saving Jemma in S3 involved him jumping into a portal, essentially forcing Daisy to keep the portal open or risk losing BOTH her friends, and he did it despite knowing and seeing that having to keep the portal open was seriously hurting Daisy. The point of Fitz's outburst wasn't that Fitz was right or wrong about Daisy's "bullshit"; just as there's no right or wrong way to handle trauma. Fitz's outburst was to highlight how vehemently he personally reacts to what he sees as betrayal to the family/betrayal from people he let in, and this sets up his character further for things that later in the season.

and just the season before her mom tried to kill her and she watched her dad kill her mom right in front of her. Like cmon guys give my girl daisy a break. plus she thinks robbie is a serial killer so its obvious she gonna think hes a bad guy.

@@gevorg1989 yeah but lincoln was her boyfriend and died for her (she feels guilty). Also, Lincoln didn't matter that much to the rest of the team as it meant for Daisy.

And for Fitz, when things changed (like his injury) he just wanted to be back and part of the team. For Daisy, she's trying to cut ties because she blames herself for hurting the team and thinks they'll be safer with her being gone

@TylerBoedecker no, he has not. Just because his reaction is different from hers doesn't mean everyone has to act like him. At the end of the day, she just left, like may did once. Fitz was still in a shield because he didn't know if Jemma was dead, so he still had hope, but the second he thought she was dead, he put his life at risk and entered a restricted area. So, their situations are not comparable.
