I think Coulson and AoS set up so much that goes overlooked in phases 2-5. Look how the void was setup in AoS down to the bunker of Daniel Walker being used for the Loki Royal Rumble. There on the World where Ward was killed you see a massive Hydra logo like the 20th Century Fox, Queng towers, Helicarrier , Golden Gate Bridge,… and until the Red Skull’s hot rod showed up in DP3 folks acted as if I were monologuing like Ace Ventura, just bent over with hands on cheeks making voices… Without Coulson there is no Avengers. If he and his crew weren’t there from the giddy-up, Ironman & Pepper would have been killed by Jedidiah. Loki offs Phil and the Avengers assembled 2012, the same year Loki disappeared from existence and is captured by the TVA. Atarah & Sybil, the Chromicoms, appear just to be early look alike devices for Judge Ravonna. The robot built in the 80’s, clearly a preemptive opt for Miss Minutes. Orange writing on the screens in their Quinjet-616 aka “Bus”. But in the 90’s, how did Fury discover the little green men on Earth? Was it not a traffic collision with a city bus which killed the Skrull impersonating the real Agent Coulson who was still at Blockbuster?! I'm honestly shocked ppl didn't know about that. I remember the ep when Graviton was talking to some aliens and infinity war was mentioned with Thanos attacking earth. Plus, it kicks off post avengers 1 and has many mentions to the mcu besides that. We even see Sif in an earlier ep.

IMO, Easter eggs are not official confirmation, and considering that Marvel Studio are clearly now willing to admit that some of the old shows are canon (A.K.A: the Netflix shows) then I will consider the other shows canon when Marvel Studios acknowledges them as such.
Easter eggs aside, the many actors from the movies made an appearance in AoS, reprising their roles. I say, that would be a big factor in making the show (and all the other shows Marvel TV made) canon to the MCU proper...
If anything they should bring back those actors. The show was kinda mid but those actors did good. Plus, didn't Disney own Hulu? As opposed to not obviously owning Netflix? I suppose you can argue ABC but again that was Ike Perlmutter and Kevin Feige hates him

Before the release of Secret Invasion in Nick Fury bio there is a paragraph saying that John Garett was once his protégée. There are several Easter in Far From Hone and Captain Marvel to reference the series.
Corce it is. Characters cross over between the show and the movies. Duh. The real issue is, they don't want to watch 7 seasons. The multiverse stuff is a creative way to have agents of shield not be affected by the blip and still have a series without mentioning it.
Agent Coulson and the extremis serum was a dead give away that it's canon. Plus, Samuel L Jackson guest starring as Nick Fury. They were canon the whole time. It got weird when they copied DC's Legends of Tomorrow and stated jumping through time. There were so many connections. The show was basically what other characters were doing between and behind the scenes. Coulson and his team found Loki's staff in Sokovia. How could anyone miss that?! They even had a mutant in season 1. They called him , "special".

People are thinking way too deep about this. It's always been obvious that agents of shield tries hard to connect itself to the MCU, but the MCU has always completely ignored it. It had way too many avengers level fights happening in it for it to be considered MCU Canon. Every season finale had something that all six Avengers would be involved in, but they weren't. The show acknowledged the movies, but the movies completely ignore the show. The Russo Brothers once said that the only show out of all of the ABC shows that is considered Canon to the MCU, is Agent Carter.

Heck, he even let the cast and crew read the scripts of various movies so that the show could tie in with the movies if possible. The characters from the movies appeared in the show, the events within the movies was litterally mentioned in the show. I feel like making Agents canon gives Marvel a massive amount of continuity to uphold and avoid contradictions. Potentially too much continuity for Marvel to handle, but I'm okay with the first seasons being canon
Actually they did end up back in the MCU proper. Fitz figured out how to create a specific branch time-line in order to grab Quake's sister and bring her into the main time-line. He stayed behind so that he could monitor everything and man the retrieval process. Deke stayed behind to close the door between the two universes. You gotta imagine the TVA showed up and pruned that branch and killed Deke eventually.
Idk the timeline they go back to at the end of the show is way different from our current mcu timeline and the snap not even being mentioned is also a big thing, don’t get me wrong I love the show but after season 5 the show is really hard to put into canon if they ended the show after season 5 it would be a different story

@TheOne-ed5ul There is a very simple explanation for the snap not being mentioned. Season 6 took place a year after the snap & the events of season 6 only took place in about a week where they were dealing with a lot of stuff before they jumped back in time for season 7. So there was no reason to mention the snap because none of the team was snapped & they were dealing with things that weren't related to it (Coulson's death & rescuing Fitz).
Honestly, I've always felt it's canon up to the end of Season 5(ish). That's just how I've always seen it. Like, the series to me always ended there. Even tho the show continued for a couple more seasons, but I didn't care for those lol.

I fail to see how any of this is proof that it’s canon to the MCU referencing events from the movies and other shows doesn’t prove anything it just shows that the events of the movies happened in the show if the movies referenced events from the shows then it would be considered canon as then they’d acknowledge each other that their events happened but having it be one sided proves nothing
@@budgiecat9039 He did died after the events of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 and was later replaced by a LMD version of Coulson and since the LMD Coulson took the real Coulson's place, only he can return in the MCU.

If anyone haven't watch agents of Shield I would advice the first couple episode going be bad but after a certain episode not going spoil it that it get really good and I would recommend watch it and I would love see old characters come back and I heard kevin feige hate these show, that why he didn't want them to canon and see us tell him we want these show canon I hope we see these characters in the movie

That's fan service for you. lol. Here's what fan service really amounts to... Loki never killed Coulson. Thanos never strangled Loki. Thanos never wrecked Hulk. Thor never killed Thanos. You went too far on your explanations, the simplest example would have been the darkhold and Ada the artificial intelligence which was something adapted from Ultron
The whole "when they did multiverse stuff they went to a different timeline" doesn't work nor does it make any sense, they went back to their original timeline at the end of the show and the light house stuff was a potential future that got erased that also ended with them back in there original timeline. Its not "they were cannon until this point" its either they were always cannon or the never were.
As much as I want this show to be canon the last two seasons just make it almost impossible for it to be canon at least to the sacred timeline, yes the show is most definitely canon in the marvel multiverse but they can’t put it in the sacred timeline because of season 6 and 7 they don’t mention the snap at all despite season 6 being set 1 year after season 5 which would mean the avengers wouldn’t have even undone the blip yet so it would definitely be a present plot point if it was in the sacred timeline, secondly when they return to their timeline in season 7 that timeline is completely different than the current mcu timeline we have now, the triskelon was rebuilt and shield is a big organization, but in the movies shield is never shown to be back together unless nick fury was leading a small group of former shield agents. The only two options for this show canon wise is either 1. The whole show takes place in a separate timeline that is basically the same events as the main sacred timeline up until thanos coming to earth that event goes differently and the snap never happens or option 2. The show was set in the main mcu sacred timeline up to a certain point where they eventually move to a different timeline, there are many time frames in season 5 that this could’ve happened, it could’ve been when they got transported to the future thus putting them in a different timeline, it could’ve been during the fear dimension arc where all the monoliths combined maybe that took them to a different timeline
The show jumped into a separate timeline at the end of season 5, due to bringing deke back as a paradox from a different alt timeline & daisy super charging & killing gravitron while the avengers were in wakanda. In the sacred timeline, they either got dusted or were killed by gravitron during infinity war. But instead of doing that, gravitron is dead and they found themselves sliding into a new timeline branch daisy created. Seasons 6 and 7 only exist in a separate timeline so that they didn't spoil anything from endgame. AoS's season 2 has a direct impact on the MCU and is the cause of Age of Ultron, and was explicitly stated as canon & on the same timeline throughout all 7 seasons of its run.
The fact that Misty Knight (from the Luke Cage show) was mentioned in Cloak and Dagger and both characters (cloak and Dagger) appeared in Runaways, I would say that is definite proof that both shows are canon to the MCU continuity. Especially since the Marvel Netflix shows are officially made canon
The people in charge of the MCU have determined that AOS is NOT canon. That fact, supersedes the obvious hooks it had to the MCU or just how great a show it was. ( It was a great show IMHO) So, IT IS NOT CANON! Until those people wake up and see the value in AOS, we are all just wasting time and energy thinking/hoping/wishing that we will see AOS characters in a future MCU project.
I was surprised they put all the Netflix shows like Jessica Jones and Punisher in the chronological MCU timeline on Disney Plus, which I always keep an eye on - they usually kept all that stuff apart from the chronological timeline section. The Netflix shows have a lot of connections where they were active, if they are bringing them back to be canon or at least acknowledging them - great, hopefully they make it make sense for the timeline. Update: they have a movie timeline and then a complete timeline, the one I refer to is the complete one.
The people in charge of AoS had no idea what Marvel was planning with Infinity War/Endgame. Besides the five year gap has been ignored by the mainline MCU due to it barely being fleshed out. And nothing that occurs in AoS makes it so it doesn’t make sense within the five year gap

What didn't help was the S5 finale happens at the same time as Thanos' attack on earth and it's explicitly referenced and shown on TV. I'm not sure if they weren't aware, as Loeb said they *chose* to ignore the snap I think.

In AoS, they didn’t skip to 2023 like the MCU did in Endgame, which means that Punisher S2, Daredevil S3, and Jessica Jones S3 all canonically take place within the Blip, but they never reference it and those are now considered canon to the MCU, by the time the series finale comes along, they return to the point in time where they left to the possible Kree future in S4 and they confirm they return to their original timeline and seasons 5-7 with the exception of the finale occured in a branch. It all works out either way.

Only Punisher s2 and JJ s3 were released in 2019, so you could easily retcon it to be set in 2018. In my head canon, the show is canon until S5, where they likely end up in a different timeline. I think Enoch's intervention caused a branch timeline to form. It's possible in this branch, Thanos failed to get the stones.
@jorgeneedssleep7978 The Netflix shows actually appear to take place at or after the first Avengers movie, but before Infinity War. There's no blip action. Aos takes place between Avengers and the beginning of the multiverse saga. When Thanos attacks Earth, season 5 ends and Coulson's teams starts time traveling. (After they deal with the shrikes)
Clearly the early seasons were intended to be canon, but later seasons they were kept out of the loop about Infinity War and Endgame, which made them unable to plan for future seasons.
Feige's forward and the lack of history for Coulson in Marvel Studios The Marvel Cinematic Universe An Official Timeline is still a bit comedic, considering how much he was confirming that Agents of SHIELD was canon to the MCU all those years ago. With Coulson even starting out as an MCU character, the fact that it has led to this is bound to be questioned by long-time MCU audience members. Canon or not, the world can still relive every season of Agents of SHIELD on Disney+ and through Blu-Ray/DVD.

I don’t want it to be fully canon to the sacred timeline… AoS was not that good, in the first place… in the second, I think they would almost have to make inhumans canonical, and I would much rather see them rebooted instead of screwed for all time because The show was crap
The big ones for me is, nick fury, sif, the council member from avengers 1 showed up in the earlier seasons. Phil coulson was in entire series. The Glenn Talbot was from Incredible Hulk,they had the crossover with agent carter at end of the series. They also had mention of the sakovia accords and thanos in the later seasons. Those are the big ones I remember but it has a lot connected materials throughout and I will forever say it’s cannon also abc made it which was the Marvel Disney company.
Lmao and in various multiverses Dr Strange looks the same in many of them as well as Wanda, Loki and of course KANG, so the idea of an Agents of Shield Multiverse Nick Fury still looking like MCU Nick Fury, not to mention Lady Sif and Agent Caulson isn't an impossibility 😂
