Hi Joe, I am concerned about agricultural property relief but I’m 16 and don’t know enough to formulate a good letter to my local mp, would you be able to help me with some points I should use in my letter?
That is what happened to the large estates post war and they handed them over to the National Trust pay the tax. That was also under a Labour Government. There is no mercy from them as they are only vaguely removed from Communists. If you have saved they want it. What nobody has realised yet is CGT is payable over £6000. So if you buy an old tractor or car, do it up and sell for over £6000 you are currently liable to pay tax. It may be this will now become highly regulated. People think they have seen austerity. This was part of the childhood I grew up in. THAT was the attraction of the sixties- colour and independence for the population.
Now then pal pretty poor at emailing but have emailed my local mp will let you know any reply keep going pal farmed round there 14 years ago spuds pigs and arable mate
If a farm is farmed by a family member then it should be exempt. That’s the easy way to solve the issue. That’ll stop all the sharks ramping up land costs and making it literally impossible for anyone to start from scratch. I do get that’s a very simplistic approach but how can farms continue otherwise. Or farmers need to get much much better at succession planning.
Ash, not as easy as lifting peas lol Great video again Joe I hope your fears over the budget don't come to fruition, but I fear our government are really anti farming Their policy seems to support solar and wind farms over livestock, industrial and house building over arable, it's disgusting that they ignore food security, during covid you guys were essential services, but now, pawns in a get rich scheme Take care Geoff
I spoilt mine this time and it felt good even though id bought my daughter up that you can't complain if you don't vote. I've finally realised that voting means nothing. They wouldn't be there if they weren't put there.
