Hey, it’s devastating to see how this engine turned out in the end.., would be cool to see running properly, I have a few ideas that might help.., I’ve made a v4 2 stroke before almost the same way you have, However I use steel angle and 3mm plate and welded it together for the crank case..,using the original sealed bearings from brush cutters.., But for the ignition I used a cdi system from a 50cc scooter.., easy to install and use.., one magnet on flywheel and you set the individual pickup sensors around the flywheel where the matching cylinder is at tdc.., Best of luck with your future projects 😊
Man, that's a shame. There's nothing wrong with welding a second one together and running it that way, really, just have to keep the staples and junk out of it this time lol! XD
that is an awesome idea Dennis! hearing you explain a 2 stroke v8 from weedwhacker engines made me chuckle that I didn't think of it before hahaha! good luck getting it going again, would love to have heard it fire, hopefully you can get it mastered some day, third time's is the charm. I saw some people suggesting CDI ignition from a motorized bike kit, you can use magnets on the flywheel and pickups to sense crank correlation and trigger CDI.
Love to all my friends from Germany the best engineering in the world comes from your families! my 2 illegal in america Porsche 928's and my old CLK 6.3 keeps a @timsane smile on my face😁
I agree my friend but it failed before the camera shot, but the sound of this filled my veins with a fire in my nuts to bring it back and keep it alive😁
I'd like to take a shot at making a distributor for you. I know quite a bit about cars. I am a gear head. I'm 53yr and on disability, and I can't wrench on full size anymore. I'm a little familiar with what you want to make. I'd just need info from you on sizes and things you know you want. I can get you Gmail, fb messenger, or cell number. I'm from Pa.
