The way I look for AI is the VERY specific style that all ai has. It’s glossy and somewhat blurry, and they can’t draw dynamic poses. It’s actually really easy to spot if you look for the right things.

i’ve been accused of using AI SO MANY TIMES and it bothers me sm because not only do i hate AI generated “art”, i put my blood, sweat and tears into those drawings. like i did NOT spend 17 hours rendering for this 😭

What makes me really annoyed is the fact that they train ai with PEOPLES art like if ai was only using text to translate into pictures it would probably look worse or really disfigured

Short story time. I was working on a company's logo for free. It was an extra curricular event. I had done a bunch of concepts and even some finished products, but they just couldn't make up their mind. In the end, they took one of my finished logos and ran it through AI to make it "better". To remind you, I did this all for FREE!! If they wanted extremely professional art, they would commission someone. I put so much work into this because I wanted to see my artwork on the face of a company. Afterwards, I was never even credited for the design or mentioned at all.

Speaking of people accusing artists over stupid things, people online are being paranoid about certain popular users online being groomers and commenting stuff like "I hope you're not a pedophile" and sometimes target this to people WHO ARE MINORS THEMSELVES

Honestly, it's terrifying how AI generated 'art' is getting more and more unrecognisable as time goes on. It is an extremely quick evolving process that's going in the wrong direction too fast. For instance, those ai speedpaints. It's genuinely saddening because some artists now get very overwhelmed by the fact that they can't prove themselves enough to people's accusations :((

I know someone who had been told their art is Ai. Turns out the accuser didnt actually think it was Ai but was salty about something the artist told their friend?? idk 😭

Im glad someone is addressing this situation , some actual undderated artists take HOURS for their work .And it ends up super good . but people assume you use ai just because you're not popular..

it's actually sooooo annoying and it's the ONLY reason why I rarely my drawings online because of these people accusing artist of using AI

I used to have a friend, who was genuinely triggered by "messy" art. They would see "messy" art, and would cringe and say 'It Just SO messyyy!!! i hate it soo much!!!'. This made me very mad- especially when they said that about MY art. Especially my sketches, which is stupid because it's a sketch! But I, personally, like "messy" art! It's what I've been aiming for- and my "Clean" art makes me feel bad about my art! It wasn't constructive criticism- it was just shaming me for my artstyle. Sorry- just wanted to vent about my anger for a second.

Considering all the jobs I want in the future are art related (maybe animation, character design, blah blah blah, comics ???) AI is a constant thing that keeps me up at night while daydreaming about my future. And I haven’t been able to escape it. Last school year, in a school with a WHOLE art class, in a school where students got MULTIPLE art related awards (not even just from the school itself sometimes from the whole district), THEY USED AI ON THE SCHOOL VIDEO😭 At first it wasn’t that obvious until I looked again, it was for some event they were doing for Pi day and the mini pi symbols were merging with the others, and there were a lot of them that any human would find tedious to draw😭 About ai accusations, they’ve really gotten worse and I definitely agree with the point that it doesn’t make much sense to use hands as a reason an image is ai if we ourselves complain about how difficult hands are. It really makes no sense. I think I did watch the video you mentioned on how to tell if something is ai before, it was pretty helpful!

Back when I was on the hell hole known as amino, we used to do “layer tours” where’d we’d just have screenshots of they layers as proof we made the art

something else that's annoying is now I second-guess everything drawn in certain styles because it reminds me of AI. AI has ruined some awesome artstyles for me and I hate it

I agree with you Bre, those who accuse artists of using AI are just bad at drawings, if they all saw the work behind these drawings, the AI is incapable of perfectly generating hands, sometimes in using AI to make the hands there are several with missing or even deformed fingers, they do not have concrete proof to say which artist used AI, if they see a defect on the hand they will say that it's due to the generation of an image made by AI, but what they don't know is that some artists don't know how to do the hands or even that they have difficulty doing them , but otherwise very good video and thank you for including my fanart in your video 🫶

And AI can make speedpaints now. a lot of us dont post our speed paints anymore, which leads to more accusations, but ai, like you said, steals art and frankensteins it together. thats what it’s doing with speed paints :(

ai is hella scary. it’s honestly why i don’t really post my art at all in fear of it getting stolen and im just flat out insecure in general. and im a beginner too! and i swear the more i think abt it dead internet theory is actually real. years ago the only threat to artists was tracing but now ai bros can practically run the art thru ai and practically claim it as “theirs”. not to even mind the fact of how many bots run comment sections nowadays. there’s even bots arguing with each other. ive been hella paranoid about what’s real and what’s ai and i honestly can’t take it anymore. im too scared to post my art even though i know i wont have any ai accusations under my belt. it’s too much pressure and im hella demotivated, not to mention schools coming in a few weeks 😓

I got banned in a server yesterday for putting my own art through ai and I sent into the general chat bcs I thought the image was funny, my friend said they tried apealing for me and gave the admins speed paints that I don’t use ai in commisons and any art in general. The admin said i was a liar and to get me banned from other art servers. 🤕🤕

the thing that really pisses me off is when people think that because they use ai, their automatically an artist too. they are not. if anything, the ai would be the artist, and even then that's debatable.

Getting accused of using ai is just as annoying as getting accused by ai

Anyone who claims that someone's (real) art is AI is not an artist themself. Or, at the very least, is a beginner artist. It is extremely easy for any artist to tell what art is AI and which isn't by looking closely at it. Non-artists don't know how art is made, so they can't tell the difference between fake and real.

The fact that I was super hesitant to post about my art because I didn’t want to be disliked because someone accused me of using ai with absolutely no evidence tells a lot about the community

The most annoying thing for me is when they scrutinize every detail and say "a real human who knows how this thing works would not make that mistake" and a lot of the time its just a random misplaced stroke, or the real human artist legitimately just don't know how that thing works. As someone who is scared to post their art online for these reasons, I needed to hear this. I can definitely imagine how annoying it must be for artists to get accused of AI for minor mistakes. It’s as if people are now expecting human art to be flawless, when that is definitely not the case most of the time. But that’s what makes art interesting imo 😓

AI "art" will never take over and possibly die down. Art is something you do for fun, and according to some articles AI is becoming so expensive and so much of a money dump that most websites will either be paywalled or shut down

i got into this paranoic state for six months about not posting my art because of ai and just generally got really unmotivated, but then i learnt that like, creating is cool, the process. like i can do it for myself and my own enjoyment. isn't it funny how we all keep forgetting this, anyway also people have been stealing art for a gajillion years but they can't steal my joy and strong sense of self 😈😈😈
