I think the worst thing I’ve seen from AI music so far was XXXTENTACION’s mother saying his “team” is gonna utilize AI for the next posthumous project.
@@CDTVProductions probably the worst ever. pretty shameful and embarrassing and it never gets better. with every release and decision made it js gets worse and worse and worse.
Everything u said about glorb is exactly why they're the only channel I go to when it comes to any form of ai rap. And the fact that each track is kinda like a new chapter in a developing story makes it go even harder (and funnier simultaneously) for me personally. Also there's also another form of ai covers that are even lazier, which is kinda like mixing ai imitation and ai comedy rap together. For example there are covers of glorb songs but the ai SpongeBob voices are replaced with ai imitation voices of different artists (and the most messed up part is that most of those imitation voices are ones from deceased artists like X and Juice Wrld)
Also i saw a version of sonic, shadow and silver the hedgehog singing "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys and shadow had a really cool deep RnB voice lmao
DOC sounds like he's using it properly. He's using it to release a new album using AI to use his old voice before his voice was irreversible changed by a bad car accident.
At some point, these people gotta make their own art. Lots of AI music is just a beat they bought or that’s free. And an AI voice filter over their voice. It’s art still but like, if they just keep it as their voice, they might make good music Edit: you went over that haha, most RU-vidrs and people legit think the voice is completely made in software. Some people even think lyrics and voice is completely made with ai Edit 2: nvm, ghostwriter can not sing 😭😭
My take on AI is the same as any type of technology advancement... *It's just a tool.* For example, if you told an illustrator and a normal person with no art background to do an illustration for a brand using AI, the person with no background on art will do a worse job than the illustrator. Same with AI songs, applying AI in audio/graphic softwares will help a lot with saving time when creating art. And at the end of the day, you need human imput to sell products for humans.
@@illford You can say that about ANY other tool. Like the Internet itself is a tool, you can use it for good stuff and horrible stuff, it all depends of the person and what the consumers want.
I think most AI rap songs that are bad but I did enjoy Heart On My Sleeve a fair bit when I first heard it. The Weeknd verse sounded super AI but the Drake one sounded good. Maybe that's just cause he's very bland these days who knows?
you mentioned glorb so i wanna bring oddwin and his kash krabs character to your attention. i dont think it's ai i think it's just oddwin or someone else doing an imitation so i can see why you didn't talk about them here but they go hard, actually had a song genuinely produced by BNYX too which is pretty cool
There used to be a channel that did AI Eminem songs, such as if he wrote songs like “My Name Is” and “The Real Slim Shady” in 2021 but for whatever reason the channel was deleted off RU-vid
Glorb is one of my all time favorites and you’re not wrong they are great. I think my favorites are dumbbell Larry has the consistency of a good sounding track and can gangsters cry with SpongeBob
I can’t take joy in listening to AI music because I know that it’ll be abused in the future to layoff musicians. Same for artists and so on. AI is unethical.
@@Tocinos “real job”. Drawing, making music, and so on ARE real jobs. You’re just asking for soulless products and stagnation in culture if you think fake 💩 should STEAL real people’s jobs.
@@Tocinos i… never said that? Did you mean to reply to someone else? Cuz I literally didn’t even mention Drake and his laziness to 💩 out mid or worse projects the past near decade.
I was waiting for Glorb to get dissed but I was surprised, and also not, he's 🔥🔥🔥 Also similar to Glorb is YourBoySponge. I'd say Glorb is better, but you may enjoy YourBoySponge more.
The worst part of AI Music is really how there is no vision or soul in the music and how it feels like it is some random white kid who is making these AI songs on Drake and Kanye and all these rapppers because of how they fanatasize them so much One other area you haven't touched are AI rappers who are rappers made by AI, and not from a cover or existing person. Case in point, FN Meka who was a rapper signed to Columbia last year for being a 6ix9ine clone who was made fully by AI and even has a song with Gunna, but was dropped after some racist remarks with the AI Rapper plus how they wanted to make them like a black rapper which failed completely and the label dropped them. Luckily we have not had another FN Meka in the industry so that is better than anything
FN Meka was never Ai, that's just a gimmick from the marketing team behind him. There's a real voice actor for FN Meka who spoke out about his experience.
AI is a fun tool for creative projects but why the hell are people thinking it's going to replace real people? It would be like if everyone was worried the mechanical pencil would replace people back in the 90's or something.
Listen to the 4th dimension. It’s a full ai Travis Scott album and it scary how good it is. It is really good and has good production and good ai voice. But it feels wrong listening to it bc it sounds too much like Travis
AI rap is cool when its just people using them for fun and they're being transparant about it being AI (the end results may still suck but its innocuous in concept at least) but tryna pass it off as performances by the actual artists is scummy. I also have no doubts that labels are gonna use AI to make posthumous albums for dead artists which is even more scummy. On one end, AI voice filters are cool (depending how they're used at least). On another end, its kinda scary that technology has actually advanced to that point lol.
I could tell right away from the second that that AI Ye started rapping on that First Day Out freestyle it wasn't a real verse from Kanye. ft. Kanye West wasn't even put into the video's title when it first dropped, and I could just tell that Kanye didn't rap like that. I could tell it wasn't his real voice.
I agree with a lot of the critiques of AI but I'm glad it exists because DOC (the guy who helped write a lot of Chronic for Dr Dre and had a classic album in 1989 called No One Can Do It Better & he's a hip hop legend) is going to use it to replace his voice and use the AI to copy his voice from the 80s because (and a lot of people reading this will already know this) he had a very serious car crash and his voice was irreversibly changed and it essentially ended his career. I think this story proves that the tech could have a positive impact... the laws surrounding it needs to be worked out to protect artists first and foremost, though.
One caveat to some of your issues with the first category is that currently, the people who are using these AI tools to make fake Drake and Kanye verses are almost all lazy, creatively bankrupt clout chasers. Their music would likely be derivative and unoriginal even if AI tools didn't exist; the tools just give them more of a veneer of legitimacy. What both intrigues and terrifies me is the future of AI imitation, when people with a clearer understanding of the artist's music will use these same tools to make truly convincing soundalikes, ones that may even be well-written and produced. I can easily imagine a "leaked" Kanye song going viral and garnering consistently high praise from listeners, only for the person who made it with AI tools to reveal themself. Or more frighteningly, the estate of a deceased artist could release a track "from the vaults" that is really an AI doppelganger. The morality wouldn't be much different from current AI rap songs, aside from intentional dishonesty perhaps, but the music could still be enjoyable and have admirable qualities. Personally, I would still avoid listening to these better songs. I don't have a problem with using AI to supplement the creative process or improve certain qualities, but when you get into pure copying of another artist, you've lost me.
I feel like you miss one category, the one where they use a AI of a celebrity that never makes music. That's another one that for me falls in the comedy/parody cause you would never expected otherwise that famous person to actually make a song.I do agree that people using the voice of a AI for create new songs is fucking stupid and takes away especially when an artist is dead it comes off as being disrespectful. The last category for me doesn't make sense to me also why should I listen to a AI voice of another artist when I could listen to the original song done by the original artist that is so much better.
I think what makes Comedic AI songs feel better to listen to is because: 1. When it comes to memes, the makers either dedicate themselves to an absolute shitpost or a masterpiece 2. It isn't intending to impersonate real artists for money/fame so it is much less guilty to listen to
it’s definitely not, it’s even been removed from streaming platforms and youtube. when i started making this vid a few days ago it was there, now it’s not.
It will be scary once you can have a drake voice rap in say busta rhymes pen style. Cos then it would be technically innovating a new mix. new meal if you will. Busta/drake would be the most elaborate and fast whining you'd ever hear
I mean, if all this stuff was used for was shitposts most people wouldn't really care, but the use case is only half the issue with Generative AI, the other half is the means by which this technology is even developed in the first place, which is ethically dubious at best. This stuff is just straightforwardly evil to be honest, it's really not complicated, anyone who thinks it is is either ignorant or just searching for a justification to be a leech. I'm not saying AI can't be socially integrated in a ethical way, but if you want to have that conversation you need to stop working from the assumption that AI in and of itself is neutral, because it isn't.
It could be a fun creative writing exercise to write a verse like Drake. It's neither creative or writing to ask Chat GPT to do that because you're too lazy to do it yourself.
