IMO, having no defenses against Saito in the final somnium is way scarier than desperately trying to fight him off; he slowly, but surely, takes over your mind, taunting you all the while, and there's NOTHING you can do about it.

ah, the PC version. I remember at least at launch how the PC version would commonly crash in Iris' somniums on the right side and the facial animations would occasionally completely break due to a common bug.

It was about 2/3 of the video in when I realized I have no clue what the hell is going on, and when the last storyline hit I somehow got even more confused. But thanks to your strange yet charming humor, and obscure references I actually managed to understand the plot (eventually). RamZeas, you magnificent bastard, you've done it again.

It's very consistent sometimes and it only randomizes when the somnium starts (so, loading a save won't randomize it again) results are different depending on the time left too. The randomization has a bias to ensure you always have time left or you have a certain amount of time left

I remember when you made your original videos on and I liked them and said I may get into this game, and then I forgot about it. Years later my friend who had an Aiba pfp remind of the game and saw it on sale on switch so I picked it up and started playing it and from then on I was hooked. Honestly I have to thank you for introduced me to this game which is now my favorite games of all times :D.

The upcoming sequel is easily my most anticipated game. It's unfortunately delayed two weeks until July 8th 2022 in the UK and Europe (still June 24th 2022 for America though), so I'm going to have to spend the first two weeks after the US release avoiding all spoilers until I can play through it myself.

YES I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME'S SEQUEL this game is wild haha. an absolute ride. mizuki is the GOAT

A comment pointed out the third game should be about the soul of a person. Based on this, I think it should be the new story. The new serial Killers's victims should appear with holes spread all across the body, with whatever is left of it being completely rotten. The method ? Somehow the killer absorbed the majority of the victims'mitochondria from the cells of the bodies. The people on the case are Bibi, Mizuki and Ryuki with their respective partners. But here's yet another strange detail. While a strange woman (Tokito) appears out of nowhere, causing strange phenomenons to happen in order to keep Bibi and Mizuki from getting to the truth (this is a test), Tokito pretty much gives the answers, even if in a cryptic way, to Ryiuki, as he's ready to reach Moksha. By the way, I think Shoma should return as an assistant to Pewter, having joined ABIS because just like the detectives, he feels something is wrong, because of all the nightmares he's been having. And I think Date's case should be trying to find out if this mysterious woman truly is the missing Tokito.

This game really keeps you invested in story! It would've have been 100/100 if not for overusing porn mag joke in almost every fight scene and Mizuki causing people to go in stormtrooper mode... Anyway still very enjoyable game!

Massive spoilers 52:40 this is probably the most important bit of information needed to try to make sense of the entire case. For large parts of the game, you see so many characters seemingly act really differently and out of character in different routes, with iris being a dork in one route, but a manipulative killer in the other one. It helps explain why there’s so many different culprits as well, since it was really hard to imagine why so many different people were working together and then killing each other in a weird way. Legit was one of my favorite moments since it was one of the last pieces of info that made everything finally fall into place. Ooh man, I really love this games story ❤️

the first time I heard of this game is when a youtuber named Pat Stares At started a full playthrough... after his first episode gave it exposure (I instantly started playing it myself), I think it set off something of a chain reaction until the game became relatively popular. And, what the youtuber said he didn't know until after a few episodes, was that by coincidence, the sequel Nirvana Initiative was scheduled to be released within a month... so, the random timing of the playthrough nicely primed players for the sequel btw, I would recommend the game Deadly Premonition to fans of this game

Also, @RamZaes, the driver is probably Uchikoshi pulling a Tarantino... meaning, the driver is Uchikoshi's cameo... that would explain why hes the only character without a name.

I don't know the context to this part of the game, but I wanted to point this out, but it could mean nothing. Boss: "What if the pumpkin's name was Bill?" Me: "The pumpkin head?....Name is Bill..." Get's it. "OHHHHHHHHHH! Ahhh....I get it!" I didn't know there was a reference to the horror movie, pumpkin head! Just going to not say the whole plot of the move or how this happens, but there is a character named Billy in the movie, and yeah he becomes pumpkin head.

Played this game during lockdown when I was able to get the special edition for like $20. Absolutely loved it and flash forward to now awaiting to get the cool special edition with Aiba figure for the sequel.

I did this in the opposite order as ramz and let me tell you, boy does the game seem even more fucked up with the knowledge date may be a serial killer and the gruesome evisceration of a Vtuber, but also made saving them seem more meaningful by comparison ramz playthrough was a whole lot more comfy until the sucker punches near the end

Saw this video in my feed. Remembered I skipped out on it despite Spike Chunsoft making it, so I bought it. So happy to have a game that engrossed me again to keep playing. Spike Chunsoft just knows how to have damn good mysteries, twists, goofy humor, and still be emotional. That said, my first route was the annihilation route and seeing everyone drop like flies while thinking it was just a main timeline drove me insane. They really made a Shadow the Hedgehog style game of branching realities and yet fixed the problem by making them all relevant. Chef's kiss. Side note. It's really interesting attention to detail that you can frequently see Saito's hand fidgeting around when he's possessing certain people. And having Aiba, who is played by the same VA as Kaede in Danganronpa, using the rube Goldberg mechanism to roll a huge ball around and trigger the gun to fire in Saito's Psync is such a nice blink and you'll miss it touch.

I played this last year around november and I totally agree with everything you said about AI and just like you, the story intruiged me so much to the point where I played it almost every night for 3 to 4 hours straight because I was just SO INVESTED IN THE STORY🤯
