(The I want to **** 2B phrase is formatted that in every localisation, in every language, so it could be fuck or kill. Lots of points in the game correlate love, pain and murder, and 9S' madness being that A2 stole his kill. All depending on perspective.)
From what I've read, it was intentionnaly left ambiguous wether the word was kill, fuck or love in the languages in which these words had the same number of characters; but in the languages in which this is not the case, such as Italian and French (and I can confirm for the French version since I played the game in french and speak natively French) the word that was chosen was fuck (6 letters in French, and 7 in Italian).
@@cryguy0000 I'm not sure, i'd say it was meant as a possible interpretation, even though the speech's subject was more indicating the intended meaning would be closer to "kill", but the translators had a choice to make and took this one, leaving "fuck" the only interpretation in those two languages (maybe even more, and maybe other interpretations in other languages, I don't know)
waaait a minute... this isn't the - 2 Main Characters perspective (where a third one is announced late into the game), - multi-ending, - highly philosophical, - written by a wacky game director game review I was expecting from Ramzaes!
I had the same experience. Played half of 2B’s experience, hated the game, came back and ended up really enjoying the rest. I’m currently doing a second playthrough and it’s still great
Fun fact: If you are low level enough as 9S during the final fight with A2, you actually arrived at her item menu. Probably stopping her from using recovery item. I hate how this neat thing is optional, I actually missed it and had to watch it on RU-vid.
I remember me and my dad playing nier on different save files. I originally got it for me and he loved it and started playing it while I was at school,so he was further ahead than me. I just beat the second play through with 9s and went to bed. Then, I went to school. Once I got back, my dad apologised to me. He said he thought it would only delete 'his' save file. Ao yeah, all my effort was wasted and I never got around to finishing it lmao
It may have taken you a while to get to this game, but hey, at least you got to experience one of the all time greatest games of the 2010s. :) Heck, it's my second favorite game of that decade after Breath Of The Wild. Not to mention that they both came out in the same week, and pretty much act as perfect compliments to each other.
Finished it on pc a couple of months ago, after getting stuck near the final boss of route c & d on ps4. One of the few games I completed entirely. Now playing replicant and it's amazing to see some of the area's again and see the context in hind sight, which is also a weird experience.
there are recurring areas? im playing replicant and ive finished my first run through and am on my second, i figured there wasnt going to be any recurring areas though?
@@simonbarnes7378 Have you finished Automata already? (Judging by you being on this video, I'm assuming you have). The library in automata at the end with all the history and the library of replica are one and the same. The area below the shopping mall, where you find the field full of flowers (and burry 2B, or at least a memento) I'm wondering what else will return as I'm very early in the game (just met kaine)
I really hope he played the sidequest where you help an e unit yorha recover her memory, one of the best quest to subtly foreshadow the most emotional plot twist in the game imo… also world building
Narratively there's still a lot that needs to be resolved even after the final ending, so a true sequel to Automata would be nice. Iirc there's the group on the android's side that was responsible for YoRHa, and even if the removal of the Red Girls made the machine side far more harmless, the android side would have to continue the fight or otherwise reveal that there are no humans. A sequel would give an opportunity to reach a point where neither side have to fight, and the remaining androids can come to terms with them being able to actually live how they choose, something the machines kind of already discovered.
We probably wont get any direct sequel, but if you want to know hows the afterstory went, Yoko Taro made several ending , or at least script of it, forgot where i watched it, but im sure can be found easily.
I don't want a sequel though it's just going to be way too depressing for me. Can we get a spinoff where 2B and 9S desert the army and decide to go fishing like in ending L? I'd love for that to happen.
@@cringeconnoisseur6037 Look up the epilogue to Ending E. Yoko Taro hid it in a concert. Long story short: 2B wakes up after end E but 9S doesn't. She keeps waiting around trying to reboot him, she manages it in the end but he can't stay on and deactivates permanently thanking her for being there. Then she basically dies on the spot and remains there endlessly unmoving. ... OR SO YOU THOUGHT! Yoko Taro decided that the people who were gonna watch the concert needed some good ole trolling so that's the script they got with the tickets. The real ending continues from there. You can find the script and the performances online if you want.
RAMZAES NO WAY. I’ve been wanting to experience this game again but it’s on an account I no longer own, so I couldn’t replay it. This is the next best thing, if not better
I would argue the other way around Yoko Taro's devs were victims of his madness. No other monster would request a sudden rhythm game boss fight. They all suffered together. That's why he gets along with platinum games so well They've both seen game development hell.
@@vestal3430 As someone who dabbles, I totally get the feeling. Working alone is great because you can go as wild as you want. But working with others introduces you to new angles to attack from. Drakengard 3 is a great example of unfiltered Taro Nier Automata is a great example of filtered Taro.
@@TalDSruler i made a story where people feed off stars and the antagonist tries to fuse himself with god to create a new world for him, maybe i do need control...
This game is a masterpiece. I have several minor gripes too but the payoff is more than worth it. You can feel the passion behind the development and in the process carved for itself a place among the classics.
Such a coincidence PGR is doing a collab currently with Nier Automata and I'm hyped about it and now RU-vid recommends me this 7h old vid? Privacy was never an option
@@krimsonkatt I just remember from someone who knew more about the series of me saying that yokotaro said it is the official third entry to the series But regardless a spin off is still a sequel
@@xexat Playing it and trying to reroll for Nier Automata character like 10 times and still not getting any of them.😢From the look of it, there is no pity system and the currency is very expensive. The gameplay is like an auto-walking simulator. There is no skill needed for this Nier at all.
Yeah they're optional add-ons basically and apparently the Androids can simulate pregnancy too, without actually being able to have children. Crazy stuff
Reincarnation is fantastic so far. If you like the designs just play it. It doesn't matter that it's not on console because it looks and plays like one. The story is obviously on going but with each chapter of the 2nd 'route' we're getting increasingly heavy lore dumps about the nature of The Cage which is very exciting. Its also primarily a visual novel so you could just watch in on RU-vid I guess.
lovely video on a great game! i'd love to see replicant as well. i'm not sure of which one i prefer either! ps: head up to the fact that the nieR reincarnation soundtrack is incredible and some of the tracks can rival the other nier soundtracks (in my opinion)
Hi RamZaes, so I'm pretty new around here, I've seen a couple of your vids so far (all good stuff, did make sure to sub). Just one question thou, where is your opening jingle from? I swear I've heard it before but I can't remember where and it's bothering me. (Like getting a consistent itch that's just out of reach) lol
Awesome video like always. I wanna recommend you some games. Look into "Baba is you" and "Outer wilds". Both are puzzle games in conceptually different ways, but both innovate. Outer wilds is an experience you can only have once and I strongly recommend that you play it completely blind. Baba is you is the final boss of puzzle games with unmatched difficulty while maintaining high quality and intuitive puzzles.
Drakengard 3 sure is maximum trolling of who ever made that game and there is even a last challenge where the screen goes black but its still not over and if you mis time it you get to start all over again
Honestly, the movement and combat in Nier Automata is so good, I wish they made it as good in Nier Replicant, but instead they tweaked old combat system that ended up being ok at best...
a2 is not actualy a e-unit thats not what it said all that log told you was that e-unit is based on a2 and no that she is a e-unit it is 2b on the other hand is realy a e-unit
So cool that you made a video about Nier automata. I want to erase my memories and complete it all again, like first time. This game made me feel good, off course after the depression it caused. Any ways this game is absolutely a masterpiece! Glory to Mankind! Also nier automata soundtrack perfectly suits Apex legends character selection screen. Thats all i wanted to say. Thats it. 😊😂😂🤣🤣
