There's 3 études realistically that people want to see; 24, 45 and 60. All 3 are here.
For étude 60 (0:05), it failed to get the trill right, assigning it all to the pinkie (dexterity 200) which I subsequently corrected. It also tried giving some of the notes from the left hand leap to the right hand, as if it didn't have enough to do already.
For étude 24 (2:52), it got the fingering right given a separated MIDI, but the hands do go through themselves (not as visible from top camera, but still noticeable). There is absolutely no way the AI was ever designed (or thought) to play like this, so glitches are more than understandable.
For étude 45 (6:59), it... it tried its best. I left this one completely uncorrected to show where it failed completely or had a bizarre fingering allocation.

Wait did the AI come up with its own fingering? The start of op 45 seems kind of weird, with the rh doing the upper lh notes, and shortly after in the tremolo it splits it between the hands instead of doing it with rh and doing the jumps crossing over with the lh Also the repeated notes at 7:50 with only one finger? What's going on here?

Yea it's indeed the AI trying to figure out how to allocate the fingers. Part of the charm of these uploads was seeing the ridiculous ideas it came up with, some defying human abilities (such as the glorified 1 finger trill).

@@HubertMCovers ooh ok i guessed as much. I tried to use the same fingering in the initial run (with rh thumb taking care of the middle E) but the original fingering is already in muscular memory lol. I suppose that the AI should eventually come up with the most optimal solution though, even if it might be different from the original. Can you tweak it by restricting that stuff that makes it impossible, like ruling out repeated notes with one finger?

@@BarackObamaJedi You couldn't do general constraints in that fashion. Rather you could manually re-map notes to different fingers.

They’re playable, if you look up them up you will see at least one performance of these pieces…the last one is next to impossible though but people have pulled it off

@@variableboar6789 it's literally impossible "at tempo". only remotely possible with small keyboard like in mereaux's day. seonyong can play an 11th, i can play a 9th, and when I try to play it at his speed i literally cannot move my hand back and forth that fast, even without playing notes.

I slowed the MIDI down purposefully because I knew the hands would look super glitched. I could've had it do it at tempo but my screen would probably lag out.

No one says you have to play it at that speed. Unless there's some tempo marking. Liszt, Alkan and Szymanowski wrote harder études to be honest. Even Sorabji and Ives and so on.

Lol that AI's hands remind me a little bit of my own hands when I have filmed myself playing. I don't have a very good technique so I guess the brain tries to be efficient by moving less as possible. I guess the AI does so too. It can not be as free as say Rubinstein playing De Falla lol.

These aren't concert études, I think they're written in the old sense of an étude (think of say an étude for violin) where you train technique without actually performing it in front of crowds. As such they're a bit exaggerated, and it is given that they won't be played perfectly. I'll link a video discussing this later.
