I have coached Qbs a long time and studying Aidan in college, I was blown away how accurate he was in his back pilon throws. I have never seen a Qb so consistently accurate on those tough throws. I sure hope he works out for the Raiders. His processing skills is impressive as well. Raiders no doubt made an incredible choice in the 4th round.
@@jordideraiders5013the pylon (correct spelling) is the orange end zone marker that marks the corner of each End-zone. The back pylon is exactly what it sounds like the back corner of the end zone .
Dude can thread the needle and run a complicated offense better than it's architect. Draft DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE and let the 5th most expensive offense cook man!
Our defense is actually good this year. If Aiden can play consistently we’ll be good for years. Just keep loading up on talent to take over for aging stars and those who leave
@@Direwolf9818man if the defense keeps up this level of play I hope whoever the new coach is keeps Patrick Graham players are gonna be even better in it going into the 3rd year instead of learning a new system
He can thread the needle but he also had a couple not great misses. Sailed them both if I recall correctly. So hopefully he can learn to step into those passes better and really drive the ball.
Considering how he killed 3rd and 4th stringers in the pre season, I am not surprised he did well vs starters. When the game slows down for him, he will be a great QB. Only time will tell.
It's amazing how good a QB can be when McDummy doesn't cap their limitations. Aidan was quick to release the ball under the rush, and when he had time he hit his progression. Loved it.
O'Connell had way more snaps in an offensive scheme in college where he had more asked of him than the QBs taken before him. It's nuts that a walk on nobody ended up breaking all of Drew Brees's records at Purdue.
He has some challenges ahead of him but he just needs more playing time and I think McDaniels would have kept him from playing and caused him to regress. His time is now, our next great QB like Lamonica, Stabler, Plunket, Gannon, Carr and now, AO'C!!!
@@oldschoolgrower420if you think Carr wasnt a great QB for this crap franchise and bottom of the barrel defenses his entire tenure, with different coaches and multiple schemes to go along with it and no consistent personnel, then youre delusional and dont know football.
Ok, just found you, and I was impressed. Nice analysis. I'd like to offer a couple of comments. Consider upsizing your pen width. It's a little hard to see, especially on a small monitor. Also, I would have loved to have seen a few plays where he made mistakes. So that over the next weeks, we can see what changes or improvements, or lack thereof, he has over time. I noted a few throws that had way too much air; maybe look a bit at his leg and foot placement between throws where he has a good angle on the ball and on ones where he doesn't. Also, identify where his reads could improve. That way, when we watch, we can look for improvement with a knowledgeable eye. At first blush, he appears to be a Rothsenburger mold with a bit more of a step. It would be nice to see if he has that statuesque presence or if he is more of a house of cards. It may be that the Raiders finally have a quarterback that fits their mold. No knock on Carr, but Carr never was going to be that guy, especially post-Gruden. In O'Connell, they have a Stabler or a Plunket (or with some very typical Raider bad luck, Jeff George). Anyway, Brovo.
He certainly has potential. He clearly already has a pretty decently high floor. He has a good enough arm, good anticipation, good mental understanding of what's going on. He played with a lead against a bad team. Now he did make them look bad, so that's something to make note of. He looked bad against the Chargers, but that was a different Coach and it was his first start. This was clearly a vast improvement. I'm curious what's next.
Aidan is processing the game well. Obviously it’s only two starts and defensive coaches have the chance to check his tendencies. But O’Connell has announced that he doesn’t care if you double team Adams. He will get you otherwise. And unlike plenty of other QBs, he is performing well against man coverage and making good decisions. The Jets defense WILL be a challenge and I expect AOC to get a bit exposed. It’s how he responds that will determine how he turns out.
And he did solid !! They showed the top qb performances and his stats where actually fairly better than thee other qbs mahomes Josh Allen hurts and Herbert
I think Tucker is going to be a heck of a WR at some point and even though I was thrilled they canned the coach I wish they kept the GM I thought we finally had something positive with our drafting.
Just subscribed. Great content. Excellent breakdown of aoc passing and reads. If aoc keeps this up he will be seen as baby snake.....son of Ken stabler...lol. for a rookie aoc played amazing. I believe that is why devonte gave him the game ball. He even said it is the most difficult position in football. In a way I'm glad aoc lost to the chargers because in that game he learned a lot and used his experience to refine his reads his play calling his quicker release of the ball which helped him shine playing the g men. Hope he continues his winning ways with da jets this Sunday because if he does he just might be the Raiders next great qb. Like ap says.....Raiiiiìiiiiiiderssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
His comp right now and Jared Goff, really similar strengths and weaknesses. As we see now Goff can be very successful so hopefully we see the same from him
he looks like Brady in the pocket to be honest, and I agree with the Unitas comparison. He holds the ball high and tight in his chest, and I don't know if that makes it harder for defenders to see where he is throwing it, but his delivery is very accurate, fast as its coming through his chest and arm. Stands tall and poised in the pocket, great micro adjustments on almost every drop back. he really turns his chest through the delivery of the ball and just seems to have great placement of the ball with its with him. Like all of these play actions he created so much space from the PA fake because he holds the ball so well. Some of these throws were bad decisions, but you have to say they were all on the money. Great accuracy.
Remember last season purdy got hurt? 49ers looked like crap right after regardless of their star players. AOC is the nucleus of the Raider team. Some people may not realize it but mark my words he is perhaps the most valuable player on the field. Hopefully the jets won't get to him like they did Herbert of the chargers. Yet something tells me ap is going to release mad maxx and the rest of the defence against the jets and cause them to ground all their planes turning their jets into broken down propellers.
Re watch the bomb to tre trucker. O’Connell did not over throw tucker, tucker tripped up a little bit and had to dive for it. It was a perfect throw and would have been a walk in TD
Came to watch again because I need my football fix for the day Lol. Now that AOC rookie season is done, we've gotten a good look at what he can be. Personally, I like him and think he can be successful if he has good protection. He did good agaimst NYG because they were single high the entire game. He knew the coverage, and he's really good at picking up the blitz. No problem at all locating where pressure is coming from. Where he has trouble is when he doesn't know the coverage and he has to decipher WHILE AVOIDING PRESSURE. But, I think if we can give him just a little more time to throw, our offense can have some success
AOC is the answer to what exactly? As a life long Raiders fan I know not to get hyped over any rookie QB coming in, especially a 4th round pick from Purdue. Remember the last time we got hyped over a rookie QB? Anyone remember Jamarcus Russel? Thing with Jamarcus was that he was an absolute stud in college who played for LSU and came into the NFL right after winning the national title. With all that upside to Jamarcus and the cannon of an arm that he had he went down as the biggest draft bust EVER! We need to stop getting hyped over rookie QBs and putting expectations on them that they more than likely won't hit. AOC had more upside to him if he sat for a few seasons and learned under a guy like Carr but that isn't gunna happen, hell I don't want him learning under Jimmy g cuz he's just gunna learn how to get hurt, throw into, and lose his job to the next up and coming rookie. Stop placing these expectations on AOC cuz every time we've done it in the past with other guys it blew up in our face. Well be lucky if aoc is half as good as Care cuz honestly I don't see this kid being "the guy", I just don't. I'm a realist, AOC wasn't anything special in college so what makes anyone think he's gunna be special in the NFL?
Aiden is the answer for sure, he plays like a 4 year vet with that poise. We all know he has the adversity with being a walk on at Purdue which is part of the raider way. With more development (better footwork mainly) aiden will be insane. The sky is the limit for aiden o Connell.
AOC4 is who I wanted to start since the beginning but the clown McDaniels was holding this team back heavily and now they are showing what this team can do under an actual HC and OC. Hopefully they continue to do well
Just found your page. At :36 mark of video, a dope into, with music and graphics would be perfect. I think you're about to grow fast on RU-vid. Keep it up, time to watch the full video....
He would have been a first round pick two years ago and give a man a fucking chance he has all the weapons so if he dont make it its all on him this year
If you watch that game against The Chargers. AOC threw a bomb to Meyers in triple coverage that was called offensive PI. Which was a terrible call. That pass was pinpoint and completed.
His footwork and throwing motion look so much like Kirk Cousins! If you put them in a side by side screen, probably won't see too many differences! Aiden looks the part!
@aaronmartinez377 Arm strength isn't about length of throw. All NFL QBs can throw deep. Velocity, throwing in wind, tight windows, or outside hash/across field. Doesn't mean he can't be successful, but this is why he was a day three pick. I hope he is successful, but there are still huge questions about ceiling.
He threw 2 in both his first games the one in the bears game he only played like 7 min and gifted the defense his college stats show he throws alot of picks.
Now that the trash/ basura for our Hispanic friends has been mostly removed. There is The renewed hope. Let me see 2 wins in a row and I may jump on the wagon. For now just enjoying the win
You said Kolton Miller was wrong on the play to Renfrow but the play before you said the Tackles need to take the inside guy. Miller took the inside guy and let the outside go and you said he was wrong. I don't get how it's right one way and wrong the other way.
It’s amazing how much better the entire offense looked without McDoofus and Dumbardi Let Hunter be Hunter, he’s a quarterback’s best friend on 3rd down
Didn’t the Ravens win a Superbowl with Trent Dilfer under center? We have a dirty defense that is going to make it very hard to score. 13-15 points per game for opposing teams. Watch.
He has a 19.7 qbr !!!! But based on the comments of this video you would think we just saw the second coming of tom brady. 1 td 2 int hahaha you are all delusional
