to anyone switching from wrist to arm aiming one suggestion is not to only play games while aiming with ur arm but also navigating your desktop and the internet it can help alot it helped me
Something that really help me figure out my sens was trying to play 3 different paced games (CSGO,OW and Quake) trying to figure out a sens that works in different paced games, keeping in mind FOV and viewspeed.
Just a tip to people changing sens because i went from 1200 dpi and 10 sens to 800 dpi and 7 sens which is a big difference and made me arm aim instead of wrist aim. Since i knew i would have to arm aim i focused that i dont use my wrist at all, because if i just played i would still use my wrist and only moved my arm if absolutely necessary. This helped a lot and after 2-3 weeks i felt like my aim was pretty similar but my tracking got worse. Then after focusing on never using my wrist to adjust faster i used my wrist again for fast adjustments when tracking. This really helped me because im pretty sure if I wouldn’t of forced myself to stop using my wrist it would of taken months.
something i also think is pretty important is making sure your aim style in game matches up with your mouse sensitivity on the desktop out of game. if you use wrist movement for everyday computer use and then use arm movement for overwatch it's going to be harder to adjust and take longer for you to warm up
I’m suffering with that now, even going as far as watching this video. It’s genuinely frustrating going from 3200 to 1600, and going to 800 feels exhausting. I spent years doing the slightest mouse movements with a high sensitivity and wrist movement.
I wanted to to get into arm aiming, because i usually wrist. You said 2 weeks to 2 months, which makes sense, and i went into this knowing that. in rainbow six siege, i used to use 800 dpi 24 sens to 400 dpi 9 sens, with a large mousemat. I spent about an hour playing T-Hunt (in r6 siege, its vsing AI), then i spent time against actual people, then hopped into ranked. In about a day (about 3 to 4 hours of playing) i adjusted to arm sens :D
Tim For a warm up sure, but it teaches the bad habit of immediately quick scoping at your enemy and not moving the crosshair. Ana is a very low-mobility hero so you can get away with this in Ana paintball but if you really want to improve your aim you need to challenge yourself. Practice aiming against harder to hit targets than what you usually are up against so when you’re actually playing instead of practicing aiming the hurdle of consistently tracking and/or aiming will be easier to cross.
If anyone wants to master all sens, i chunked my learning into 3 chunks: finger, wrist, and arm aim. 12/6/3 sens respectively I actively sought for tricks that would help with my shortcomings like: moving to correct aiming, moving into my targets, or moving to boost my mouse speed It's helped me realize that I need to problem solve holistically and that sensitivity isn't an issue that big. Dafran can play at 20 sens much better than me at 1
Holy shit I never thought I'd have to worry about too much iostux! Seriously thought your videos are actually so helpful. Everytime I thought I plateau'd your vids would help me realize and learn how to work on all the little things I forget to pay attention to. Someday I'm gonna buy a session. Until then, keep up the great work and thank you Daddy Stux!
It was over a one year process for me to change from +15,000 eDPI down to 3200 eDPI. I did it slowly, which is the opposite of what this video suggests to do.
i've switched from aiming with my arm in csgo to wrist aiming in fornite and overwatch, well when i first started gaming on my pc years ago i was on high sens but i lowered it for csgo, grinded for 4000 hrs and now am trying to switch to games but it requires high sensi
for a game like csgo sure, but something like overwatch where its faster paced it should probably be around 360 atleast. Depends on mouse pad size of course but still
@@solace4717 yeah thats true i used this method for csgo but i sometimes struggle in ow because im running out of mousepad. It depends on the heroes you play though because i never have problems with widow or ana its mostly when i play tracer or mcree that i run out of mousepad.
I changed from arm to wrist to hybrid but over a year, but in general im much better than i used to be at aiming and play around roughly 30cm/360 where i use arm for turns wrist for flicks and tracing,it might have taken me a whike but now aiming is more of a natural thing than it was before so it wss worth the transition
I wouldn't say copying a pro is bad. rather harder to get used to since you go from quite high, to very low instantly. for people who do try it, I'd suggest to slowly lower it. go from 30 to 25. 25 to 20. etc.
I don't see how copying a pro config is bad. Many people have too high sens and bad keybind positioning. At least with a pro config, it's likely optimized and you can safely adapt to it. I've done it for Fortnite, and now I wouldn't go back to my previous config (which I thought was my "ideal") Sometimes we just aren't aware of our"ideal" config !
My problem is I can do pretty well in deathmatch with new sens pretty quickly, but then I go into a ranked match and I do terrible. How do I fix that? It’s very infuriating that u can tap ppl like a god in deathmatch then become noob right away in a real match 😰
for me i tend to find that i think more in deathmatch leading to me killing people easier. While in real matches i stop thinking as much on movment or aiming in general so my aim/movements is worse
So here's my problem, everytime i change to a new sens my aim is godlike, so, i think to myself " this will be my perma sens" but after time passes by, my aim starts to get poor for no reason. And thats why i always change my sens.
I adjust fast but then I start to choke and I become plagued with bad aim It's like a curse or something I adjust very fast do insane shootouts on the first day with new sens but then the very next day I suck
Your video is really helpful, but somehow I can't decide what sensitivity I should stick with. I used already(in CS) 6.47/4.47/3.59 and now 3.87, I always have good and precise aiming but I just can't decide which of those are for me the best. I even played for a couple games 2.77 and I just did things, I couldn't even imagine hitting xD
I currently play 25 in game sense and 800 DPI on Cod Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare. Here’s the thing I do insanely good sometimes, I also only snipe I can 360 with literally only one small swipe but I notice sometimes I play inconsistent I’ve been on this sense for about 5 days now. Will I eventually master it if I keep playing? How long would it probably take? I play quite a bit everyday.
Hey iostux, do you have any tips for how to not transfer over the aim qualities of one hero to the aim qualities of another hero? For example, I was really good at landing roadhog hooks at one point because I basically only played him, but now I've started getting into Reinhardt and have been playing him for about a week now, and I've learned how to perfectly place his firestrike. The thing is, when I switch back onto roadhog, my hooks completely suck now and I figured out it's because I started aiming with hook like the way I do with firestrike. Another time this happened with me is when I used to play a lot of McCree, but then I wanted to learn Hanzo, and of course going from hitscan to projectile it completly through off my aim with McCree.
So I'm new to mouse and keyboard about 5 months in, play CoD and have a 40 cm per 360 sens. It still feels a little fast and my ultimate goal is to go to about 60sh cm per 360. Should i just go there now?
I somehow still cant track smooth and idk if my dpi is too high or too low. Since I'm a gm player and play in a team I am scared to change it and see if it gets better or worse. Also I'm asking myself if flipping would be affacted by that change :/ (1450dpi/4mousespeed)
I just changed to my old half wrist half arm sensitivity after a year using arm sensitivity and I got better right after it hmm I think I leave it for about a year and than i look if I get better
They already mastered aiming. The better you get at aiming, the less noticeable these changes become. The "Aim Secrets: Accepting Inconsistency" goes into that. The Tl;DR is that the mechanical ability of pros does degrade when you change their sensitivity, its just that even if they have a bad day, its still ridiculously good. But its going to take a Pro time too to get fully used to it.
ioStux Coaching | Overwatch heyy I hope u will reply , I ady practice a lot with my current sens , but I just realize it doesn't suit me ... Will I lose my skill / muscle memory ? Cuz I trained a lot
Is it problematic to have (not much) but different sensitivities across games ? Some like quake require higher sensitivity than csgo For games with hip fire and ADS, shouls I practise both aiming equally ? How much time to practise daily ?
some would tell you otherwise, but, in my opinion, sticking to 1 sens is better. There is a site called w w w .mouse-sensitivity .com/ It lets you convert sens from any game to another :D You may need premium for some games tho, it costs $2.99 tho soo
but what if i can from csgo, 6khrs actully where i play the equal of 400 and 3.33 in ow. ive tried to up it somany times but after 1-2 weeks i just hard give up
Its good for mechanics on dps. It is unfair a lot of the time but you don't need to care about winning. Just think of it as aim practice with muhc more realistic targets. Shooting at real targets does so much more for you than bots or targets in aimhero.
+Spunky McGoo That's kinda what makes it perfect for sharpening mechanics its absolute chaos and if you can perform in that chaos a structured match will be easy.
It’s great for 1v1s too. I’ve gotten so much better at 1v1s against McCree’s and Hanzos as tracer since I started grinding FFA. Those skills can definitely transfer to comp games since there’s a lot of times the McCree or Hanzo is separated enough from their team that you are forced into a 1v1.
This is a significant problem. You switched to a new sense. It takes two months. But your aiming is still worse than the previous one. And then the question immediately closes - do you need to change the sense again? This is where the biggest difficulty lies - not to fall into endless attempts to find this one’s “perfect sense.” It is important not only and not so much the speed of getting used to - it is important not to fall down and be sure that this particular sense will improve your results.
remeber, always play lower than what u think u need if ur a noob. everytime i teach someone how to aim their like "im comfterble with this sens that 0,1% of good aimers use" playing a lower sens is always easier
Everything about this video is inaccurate. Also, it's much more beneficial to your aim if you are consistently changing your sensitivity. Please do more research before misinforming tens of thousands of people :)
It depends on your life choices... I'm guessing that you are not wanting to become a professional Overwatch player. They can make over $100,000 a year.
Kalahatze well I guess it depends on if u have any other hobbies, I personally only average about 3-4 hours a week. And whoever mentioned playing pro that is like the top 1% of all overwatch players so unless you're in the top 500 already best of luck to you.
gangstalishis Most people don't have any other hobbies other than games. If you're only playing 3-4 hours a week I'm not sure why you care so much about improving to be subscribed to Iostux :p
