Nice commercial. Still absolutely no way in hell a red dot is worth $900. Nope. Not even a little bit. Sorry to all of you that fell for this. If you think they're worth it let's go to the range; you bring your "car payment" and I'll bring my 1-2 hundred dollar (still over prieced) red dot and we'll see what happens. This is just skating the edges of fraud.
It has a forged housing 2:10 I love My Aimpoint Duty RDS and Eotech EXPS. I will never buy another Sig or Holosun Rifle Optic again on a gun my life depends on. I have had not very reliable and durable luck with them.
I don't know how I've literally shot my Romeo 5 with a 12 gauge number 7 bird shot and it didn't crack it and it held zero although that's from the side not straight at the glass throwing it around beat it around froze it in the bucket of water until it was a solid block of ice in a deep freezer. For the scalarworks mount on it that way it's easy to get it back to the correct tightness that I originally put it on and it was still on zero now yeah it was a little dinged up on the exterior from shooting it and throwing it around but it still worked fine and it didn't leak and he wants to put it in the water. So that's pretty good for an eighth the price of an AimPoint. The only thing is is those bikini covers I would like to have some actual good snap covers that had some snow lenses on them like Romeo 7s does and then the Romeo 5 would be great for the price. Sorry you ain't had the best of luck with them it sucks when you get something and it don't work out right. I'm poor and get laughed at because I got a lwrc but then I got a Romeo 5 sitting on top of it on a scalarworks lower 1/3 leap mount 😂.
We use the T2 in the Finnish defence forces with our own ak- variant and it worked perfectly for me and everyone else as well. It does get a little bit loose over a long time but wasn't really an issue if you just tightend the screw once in a while.
Not throttled on my device! I have the mindset of staying in the middle Road on optics…. Most companies have a lifetime guarantee on their optics, so I have a tendency to spend money on good triggers, and the fuel that feeds the fire😂
Ive seen Romeo 5 shot with a 12 guage #7 birdshot from 7 yards. Still worked and held zero. Then frozen in a bucket of water and it still worked fine. Was quite impressed.
When Coch speaks, WE LISTEN! I find Iam more likely to click a tactical Hyve video if Coch is the star. His advice is confident and doesnt make me as a weekend warrior wannabe feel less because he wears a 🔱 and I dont. Such a great humble teacher.
T2 is definitely better than the Duty RDS. The question really isn't T2 vs Duty RDS. It's Duty RDS vs basically any decent Holosun. The Duty RDS is feature starved compared to all these new "budget" red dots that also manage to be very durable and now with the Ukraine war Holosun can claim they are "battle tested" as their optics have very heavily been used by both sides of the conflict.
@@gator7082 I would chose the Aimpoint T2. Otherwise I don't think the answer is so cut and dry. I've owned numerous Holosuns and even some Sig Romeo 5s that because they were cheap i didn't hesitate to use extremely roughly. They've been dropped onto concrete, used in sub zero temperatures, bumped around a whole bunch, i've ran Romeo 5s with the same set of batteries for multiple years without changing them with no issues. The gap between a budget red dot and an aimpoint is smaller than it ever has been. For that matter the new Sig Romeo 4T pro or whatever the high end version of the 4t is called is absolutely and unironically "justasgood" as not only a T2 but it may actually be BETTER. Even the Night vision performance is on par or superior to the T2 PLUS it has multiple reticle options. If Aimpoint simply introduced multiple reticle options then I wouldn't consider anyone else. but the Duty RDS kinda sucks. The glass is extremely blue when it doesn't need to be quite so blue and it sits at a weird height and requires a weird tool to adjust. Every other T2 sized optic manages to deal with all of these short comings but Aimpoint of all companies is unable to do so?
How does the RDS look under nods now? I remember when it first came out it had a bad blue tint that made it really hard to look through according to some reviewers
Really appreciate you and the information you provide. Especially with the costs of some things that are useful but don't break the bank. Seems like everyone else is pushing to have the best of everything and I definitely don't have it. Everyone going Night vision Crazy right now $$$$$- yeah right. Guess, I won't go out at night. Thanks Coch!!!
@@bearrage80 They normally aren't carrying their rifles. But you can set it to have 8 hour auto off. So you just push it on at the start of shift. 🤷🏼♂️
The Aimpoint premium price used to be justified. For some people it still is. For me, it's been a long time since I felt the need to pay the Aimpoint price to get the performance and reliability I need.
Have both, plus comp m5, t1 and pro. The t2 is my favorite. Had a comp m2 on my duty rifle for years and no aimpoint has let me down yet. Eotec not so much....js
Agreed. Had multiple issues with battery life and holding zero on my Eotech. Ive never had a single issue with any Aimpoint product. If you run a rifle for a living, I think Aimpoint is the way to go. If you're a weekend shooter and don't necessarily have to rely on your weapon systems to get you home every night, don't hesitate to go with a Holosun or one of the other hundred budget options.
Let me see... $900 for an Aimpoint or $150 for a Sig Romeo5... how much is military nostalgia worth to you? Seriously these military contracts make manufacturers so arrogant.
I have both, and the Romeo5 has been nothing short of outstanding. I have it on my AK with an Ultimak rail ... and after spending two days in Tennessee shooting it in the heat, it held zero and withstood the abuse. The battery life has been exceptional as well. I do have the T2 on my bedside rifle... but would trust the Romeo5 as well. I think it is a steal for just over $100 bucks.
Sig Romeo 5 is the best bang for your buck . The mount it comes on is garbage . I put mine on REPTILLIA 1.93 Mount and I've been running for 4 years now.
I personally prefer my optics manufactured by humans instead of communists, so I’ll pay the extra for that alone. Not to mention while both fill the same purpose, their quality levels are completely different. A Kia and a Lexus will both drive you down the road, but to pretend they’re the same value is absurd.
@@CGR89his made me chuckle. Always prefer the Lexus lol so I’d just rather save it for something that I’d use a lot. If it’s a spare, then I’m fine having a cheaper but the main squeeze will get good high tier stuff. As for cars, I’d rather have a Toyota as a spare than a Kia for reliability. That being said, the entry optics from SIG or vortex are pretty decent. Entry holosun? Eh. All of them are Chinese glass but they’re not all created equal. I’d rather have an American brand warranty and QC. Regardless, the T2 will still likely have some component that came from China. But at close to a grand, I’d rather get a sighting solution that has more capability like a solid lpvo. I’d go gafs for the t2 to save. Cant justify the Gucci price on just a dot. Lpvo’s, while more finicky, are already durable enough and are more than capable for quick target acquisition. It also kinda has less of a discrepancy between the next runner up in the same line, unlike a t2 as opposed to the prices of used t2s, h2s or other mid to higher tier dots.
I have a Romeo 5 and it failed me on the range. It hopped down on its own to the lower NV settings. I hated it cuz I loved the features of the dot. But failure is not an option. I also ditched my EOTech due to terrible battery life. That’s why I’m here looking at aimpoint.
