Just some info about who played & wrote this synth bass: the song is written, produced and played by the great David “Hawk” Wolinski. Check his amazing synth bass stuff on these tracks: Rufus - Party ‘til you’re broke, Quincy Jones - Razzamatazz. Next to that a great synth sound programmer, keyboard player and composer, who has worked with the greatest of them all.
im in a party band and have been playing this song on electric bass and let me tell you, you guys have it way easier :P :P im just starting to use a synth for this part and man it just makes more sense!!
The synthesizer revolutionized bass lines. Back then, a bass player would not have played those octaves. He’d have played them on a single string. Would have been a completely different feel. But may not have mattered much with Chaka on vocals😏
Great as always!!:) I have just bought the Sirius Soundpack for my Slim Phatty:) Great sounds!! I have asked you before but would you mind writing i the description which preset you are using?? I just LOVE your interpretation of this song, Ain't Nobody and also 24k Magic!!!!
This ish only has 603 veiws, WTF????????? Great playing bro, this vid actually confirms that I like the sound of the little Phatty more than the Sub 37///// lol thanks for saving me few hunnid bucks and mos def will be grabbing these patches...
Nice adlibs. Very Funky. I grew up playing this song. One of the funkiest bass lines ever recorded. Now how the hell do you have this posted :) RU-vid would have flagged me before the first view
G Ggg Thanks! It's patch #18 Bass 103 in the Sirius Bass soundpack. Brightened the cutoff filter a hair and set the gate legato to off in the advanced preset menu so the attack would trigger on every note.
