Kat's singing and performance is effortless, not forced and so incredibly MUSICAL. She never over sings or tries too hard and her tone is sweet and easy on the ears, but still soulful and dynamic. This is probably Kat's best one. These guys get some of the best singers that each bring something unique to the table. IMO, Kat is the powerhouse, Pina is the most versatile, Nikki's voice is like a lullaby and Sarah has the Broadway/Disney princess voice.

There's nothing to NOT like with HSCC - they're all fabulous. One of the things I really like about Kat is that she sings. She doesn't belt everything all the time. She has great dynamics with all the songs she's on. Kat was a late bloomer with performing and singing, but worth the wait. Well done Kat and the HSCC.

Check out Muscle Shoals Documentary! Looks like 5 white accountants from the 50's. When I found out they were the musicians that played on the Staple singers I'll take you there, I almost fell down. Lead singer has a voice like vintage Lisa Stansfield, in her prime. Grandpa is actually doing a very good job holdin' it down on the percussion in the back (congas and bongos.) It's clear that this band practices and performs A LOT, to be this tight (including their sound engineer.) Please let us hear some of your original material.

What I meant to say was that I could hear the influence of Lisa Stansfield in her vocals (as well as Chaka Khan and Teena Marie.) I didn't mean to say that she was as skilled as a vocalist as any other these iconic women. (Few singers on the planet are.) However, for a cover band that copies other people, each of their members are pretty good at what they do.
