Why is an Air Canada 737 MAX in LONDON for? I know it can fly transatlantic, but why?

It came from YHZ (Halifax), so it could be anything from the airport being smaller to capacity reasons Edit: but it is the only LHR-YHZ flight, and they've been using the 737-8s for a while now on this route

The 737 MAX 8 replaced the 767-300 on this route

They're using them on the Halifax and St John route now. The MAX replaced the A319 on the St John route on 1st May

JJ Skippy All the above correct, Canada’s eastern cities are too small for a lot of widebody service to and from Europe, but the demand is still there. This is why they use narrowbody planes.

1 how can a 737 fly that far 2 So instead of the iconic 777 and 87 we'll have this from now on?

+Aero air 1: YHZ to LHR is about 4-5 hrs (no problem for a 737) 2: of course they will continue to use the 777 and 787's on longer/higher demand routes!

If 300+ pax use this route a week, why would they send 777 on this route? That's like sending a380 5 times a day to Manchester. Halifax is not even daily service

@@AB-im4bz halifax and st.johns are both daily in the summers
