Could you do a full bike build video? Explaining (what all you cut off the bike, painting, wheels, tires, etc? Would really appreciate watching how these bikes come together start to finish. They all look great! Love the style!

Its so crazy how much RU-vid has changed.. Back in 2008 I loaded the different ways I set up my 1954 to 1962 Stratocaster...Showed my Procharged GT40 MKII SBF 427 ROUSH build from Shelby/Superformance,MY clutch replacement on my FRB Ferrari 430 manual non paddle...NON F1 trans. Importing AND the 1st start of my dads 55 Vincent we brought over in 08 from Epsom Surrey where he left it when we moved to the U.S. in 1985.. My 54 PanHead K Series build.. I still dont record much because I dont know where or how these cats find time or even have room to record no matter how small the cameras are....i ha e tons of interesting things.. Hell i own 3 fully legal Cannabis Dispensaries...I respect that cats such as this dude CAN Share content!! people have forgotten how much easier guys and gals have made projects. its a simple click and there are videos that help u fix a crazy problem in just a few minutes! back when I was recording and posting.. no one was making $35,000+ a month on videos.. This guy actually is giving out REAL advice but people would rather sub to some car idiot who knows nothing... one name comes to mind and its sonething virgins... im not giving out that tools info. his old man is a billionaire.. shit is easy for silver spooners. my hands stay dirty and im proud of that. i hope this guy keeps up his good work. he ACTUALLY knows about a 4 stroke combustion engine and how i.important it is to be balanced in not only intake and exhaust. good luck man.

Well I want you to know I hace a lot of respect for rhe info you pass on that was truly all your R&D.. You took the chances and you made it work. RESPECT. Ive been lucky and made a little monet. NOT a lot but Ill honestly say ...I grew up VERY poor and HAD TO LEARN TO MAKE THINGS WORK BECAUSE IF I DIDNT....WELL OT HUST WASNT AN OPTION. Im 42 which isntvthst old but ask most 42 year olds how to the gap and dwell on their points??? lol. 99.9% think setting points are probably a headlight issue and that the condenser is only part of the AC IF THEY EVEN KNOW THAT... Cant really blameva generation who grew up without having these certain things vut ya know what? Im PROUD I in fact grew up where I MUST know the gap on my plugs and hpw to use a feeler gauge.Knowing how to set up my Solid Lifters.... DAILY.. The importance of oil temp on a transmission and NOT JUST A AUTO..To me I think one of the truly saddest things that truly seems to be a very limited hell i shoild call it an art because thats whatvthey call things once theyvare a VERY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE....That would be .....Knowing how to properly drive a manual transmission vehicle...I dont mean..jerk-stall..jerk-stall JerkJerk Jerk Jerk lunging forward violently until the car moves but RATHER getting in the vehicle..KNOWING what the steps are just to crank the engine and go like 2nd nature. ive NEVER owned a auto or even dual or single clutch E-Gear or Tiptronic type. Ive driven them all and I was lucky enough to buy a 06 Ferrari F430 with a beautiful GATED 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION... THE SADDEST PART WHICHBI STILL CANT BELIEVE HAPPENED DURING THE EXPERIENCE.. THE SALESMAN MADE ME FEEL FORCED TO BUY A F1 BOX CAR..I HAD ZERO INTEREST IN A PADDLE SHIFTED VEHICLE.. HE INSISTED. LONG STORY SHORTER.. HE HIMSELF COULD NOT DRIVE A MANUAL MUCH LESS A GATED MANUAL. THAT DAY I REALIZED... HOW IMPORTANT PASSING CERTAIN INFO A LONG WOULD BE FOR ME...I STILL TRY TO SHOW EVERYONE I KNOW THE THINGS IVE SPOKEN ABOUT IN THIS TEXT...WHY? BECAUSE INFORMATION IS BEING LOST SO QUICKLY. YES YOU CAN GOOGLE IT AND THERE IS YOUR ANSWER BUT THATS BOT A REAL WORLD ...ACTION.. ACTIONS A FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN BOOK KNOWLEDGE. ALL THE YPUNG GUYS OUT THERE THAT HAVE WATCHED THIS VIDEO....KEEP ON BEING INQUISITIVE. KEEP ON WANTING TO LEARN.. TO THOSE THAT READ MY RAMBLING.. THANK YOU AND TRY TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY THAT PEOPLE LIKE TO CALL "OLD SCHOOL" KNOWLEDGE IS POWER AND THE ABILITY TO SOLVE A PROBLEM OR OPERATE MACHINERY FROM THAT LESSON I IS BRILLIANCE. NEVER FORGET THAT BECAUSE ONE DAY IF A HOT GIRL DROVE THROUGH SOME WATER AND HER CAR IS BACKFIRING AND HAVINGBAN ISSUE RUNNING AND YOU MAGICALLY APPEAR WITH A CAN OF WD40 AND ASK HER IF U CAN HELPANDCSHE SAYS OMG YES THANK U SO MUCH AND YOU KNOWCWHAT TO DO WITH THAT WD40 TO GET HER CAR RUNNING WELL ENOUGH TO DRIVE AND DRY OUT.. YOU JUST MAY NOT NEED TO USE TINDER OR SOME CREEPY CRAIGSLIST AD FOR EVERY DATE. KEEP ON SHARING BANANAPANCAKEMAN!!!! Keep on sharing and hope they try to continue learning..Cheers man..CB

I keep googling but this seems like the only decent intake mod ive found... A lot of forums say pod filters arnt good for the cv carbs. All I found are Velocity stacks, I plan on daily driving this a lot though. Makes the drive to work everyday a lot funner. I have a 1992 shadow 600 i'm wanting to do this too. Lots of headaches trying to find a intake online for it
@bannanapancake

Pod filters are an easy way to go I would, however, recommend more of frequent oil changes (at least in the 2000 mile marks), It's not necessary but, anything that lets more air in will let more dirt in as well overall. Even with a well-oiled filter. I would make sure to keep an eye on what color my motor oil is doing, that will give you a good idea of how much faster you're bringing in the dirt and wear.

Hey boss, great video. I’ve been building a 2002 shadow spirit 750 bobber with help from my buddy. When I bought it , it had the cone filter setup but was running badly (too much air). My buddy got me the stock intake/air box setup and now it’s running great but after seeing your video I realize we just had to increase the fuel flow to carbs. How would I go about “re-jetting the carbs and tuning them”? Please help with any info. The bike looks pretty ugly now and the peanut tank won’t sit right anymore.
@cri8tor

Was thinking along the same lines. Can't stand the stock box on the side of the bike. Pods look way better. I've been working on a 2003 Shadow ACE. Too much chrome on the older bikes. Don't know which jets to replace the stock jets with, but will have to figure it out eventually.

Sorry to add on to the long list of comments, but I was curious if doing the pod filters but not removing baffles on the stock pipe would be enough of a change to require rejetting. Let me know if you have any insight.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 5 лет назад
Sorry for the late reply (holidays). Yeah, more than enough to re-jet. Carbs are kind of a presise measurment of air and fuel, if you create more than the other youll suffer in the range of power somewhere.. DYNOJET makes a good kit with great instructions that a 5th grader could do. I use them on a lot of the builds I do.. takes a lot ot the guess work out of it. hope this helps

Where did you put your battery when you took out your battery box and installed the ice cream maker? @bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 5 лет назад
Hey man, thank for the comments and questions.. The battery is kind of a tricky one, there's not a lot of room on that bike or bikes in general, so if the current won't work, then you gotta think a little smaller:) Micro batteries are a good option on bikes these days, being small they pack a punch in the amps and can fit into tiny spaces that a normal battery won't... The downside is that they'll cost you almost double of what a normal battery would. I'm unclear of what shadow you have, but if its a 750 spirit, that bike is composed of squarer tubing (Frame) if you can find the down tube that runs behind the engine, but before the rear wheel, you'll notice that particular tube (square). You'll need to do a few things at this point, you'll need to weld on a small tray (make sure to disconnect your existing battery entirely before welding) at the bottom of that tube. There is enough room for a full-size battery under there, I have mounted one before, but it's really tight and makes changing them out a real pain. the smaller battery will give you the extra room to work around them a bit. after you weld on a small tray to hold the battery, you'll need to glue on some foam or a chunk of yoga matt or anything that will absorb the vibration for the battery. After all that is done, just plan on lengthening your battery cables at least a foot, because if you remember the battery used to sit higher and closer to the ignition, so you'll need to lengthen them for sure. The carbs on a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 are a dual carb split to feed the v-style engine, I skip all the drama and go with a kit from DYNOJET (you can get them from almost anywhere). KEEP IN MIND though, certain mods REQUIRE different kits.. you mentioned that you'll be taking the stock exhaust out and running pods? so basically straight in and straight out... you're going to need a kit called a "T-1183 STAGE 3." There's a chance you "MIGHT" need to get another jet size (There dirt cheap) from DYNO or JETSRUS to match the airflow. the size of jets you should have for a HONDA SHADOW 750 SPRIT with airpods or velocity stacks and straight out exhaust (no baffles) are a 134 and a 138.... 134 for the front head the 138 for the rear. DONT MIX THEM UP! your needle will be on groove 4 for both carbs, just make sure to take a Dremel and trim off the top of the needle to make room in the slide valve, do this just after you install the e-clip to keep any metal from getting in the carb. If you follow the instructions in the kit to a "T" you should be fine at that point, just don't mix up the jets on different heads. all that info I gave you was for the shadow stated, any other bike or mod on a different bike than stated won't work... just gotta say that again hope this helps!

Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of the country, can't remember on that one, the easiest thing to do though would be to take your stock air hose in and just find the right size of pipe that it will fit over it. You want the hose to stretch just a bit to make the best seal possible on its own with the pipe, that way when you do put your clamps on it, it will be that much better

Sorry for the late reply (COVID) if your hearing a ticking? and it's prevalent? could mean a few things... 1. Low oil level 2. a sticking valve/adjustment 3. worn out chain/loose Those are usually the candidates. I'd start in that order. if oil doesn't fix it? make sure to check the cam shaft surface (yeah lift those rocker arms) if theres any pitting, might wanna think about replacing it Hope this helps

A shadow 750 uses a 134 for the front and a 138 for the rear, but that will be different for your 1100 since your bore size is bigger. DynoJet makes a ready kit to basically plug'n play sort of thing, It will give you basically what you need, however sounds like your running a stage 3 kind of set up, so If I were were you I'd call DynoJet in Vegas and tell them exactly what kind of set up your doing (ei- pods with a hacked exhaust with NO baffles), a Honda shadow 750 will take a T-1183 jet kit with a 134 and a 138 (extra and not included) for hacked exhaust and no airbox. If you call them and be exact in what your telling them they should be able to hook you up. Thunder Mountain sells those kits as well.. hope this helps

@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
There's no right or wrong way to do that sort of thing for sure, a canister idea like we have made for those 750's won't work for the 600's, there's not enough room, not to mention that when the shock compresses it would crush a tin canister. check my other video out on the black and gold 600, we used a small vintage coffee can to put most of it in. LEAVE YOUR RECTIFIER OUT OF THE MIX!! its made to have a flow of air around it. Everything else you should be able to fit into a small space, it will take some serious patience and trial and error on how to do it, but it can be done. I wish I could say the blue wire this, and the green wire that, but it was all free lanced until we got it right. sorry I couldn't help more. It's mainly about consolidating everything to fit into a small can or whatever you use, some wires you might have to lengthen, some shorter until you come to a bulk of wires in a specific spot. sorry I couldn't be more helpful over the net

HI, questions..1. what's the pod filter on the bottom, where is it connected? ....2. what did you do with the extra (small) vacuum hoses that are connected to the stock air box? 3. Can you share the link for the exact pod filters? Thanks in advance.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 6 лет назад
Hey, the pod filter on the bottom is the crank case breather, thats the same hose that you're wondering about (#2). I don't have a link for these pods, the best thing to do is to get a pair of calipers and measure your fitting that your trying to attach the pods to and measure it and then get a pod thats slightly smaller (the rubber on the pod will stretch some) that way it will create a nice seal with a hose clamp. those pods are all over the web in all shapes and colors. hope this helps some.

It really all depends, do those cobras have baffles? any kind of baffling? that will make a difference. We usually run a straight in and out, pods with pipes clear of baffles, and use a 134 on the front head and a 138 on the rear, the clip is on the 4th groove. the bike is also around 4000ft above sea level in the US that will make a slight difference in tuning as well. hope this helps

Hi, sorry for the late reply..I use a "DYNOJET" kit called a T-1183 "STAGE 3" kit for a Honda Shadow Spirit 750, you might possibly get them on ebay or amazon by now..the kit needs to have the jet sizes; #134 for the front head #138 for the rear head (head closest to the rear wheel) the e-clip will need to be on groove # 4. These kits come with everything you'll need to set it up however I have received them with mixed matched jets before not to often..(someone at the factory just gets in a rush sometimes) but I still feel they have the best explained instructions out there. If the kit is POSSIBLY mix matched?? you can go to Jetsrus.com and find the correct size jets to finish it up. jets are super cheap, I usually just order the kit and get the correct size jets from Jetsrus just to make sure...jets are super cheap. I would also think about getting a carb kit since your taking it apart anyway? change out the old O'rings and gaskets.. might as well:) I hope this helps and I hope Poland is staying safe:)

Sorry my mechanical knowledge of motorcycles is very limited.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 5 лет назад
The best thing to do is to get a pair of calipers and measure the diameter of your intake hose or whatever your using... get a size just a smidge smaller (the pods should stretch over your intake some). the smaller pod is for your crank breather hose, typically found hooked on the back of your stock air box. Id go with a DYNOJET kit "T-1183" stage 3 kit.the jet sizes should be a 134 for the front head and a 138 for the rear, THIS IS FOR A STRAIGHT-IN AND OUT set up, meaning pods or velocity stacks and NO baffles in exhaust, or hacked of exhaust, as long as those baffles are gone for this style of kit.. jetting is re-establishing a measurement of air and gas for your modifications, so in your case, your hacking the exhaust and increasing airflow... think of it as getting rid of a straw that you've been using to breathe with running a marathon, more the air comes in, the more fuel you'll need to compinsate, and of course adding less restriction in getting the exhaust out. hope this makes sense

could you put a washer with a hole in it between the pod and the carb to act as a restriction so you wouldn't need to rejet? just thinking out loud here
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 6 лет назад
I know that has run around through heads before, its been through mine, but rejetting is a measurement thing with fuel, so having a washer in there would starve the bike of air, hence having to rejet for a washer (restriction of air) if you were infact to accomplish this, your bike would lose power over all...less air, less fuel, less power... hope this all makes sense. thanks for the comment as well:)

@bannanapancake 6 лет назад
k, a bunch of things:) I think you got me confused with "Tj' Brutal Customs" shop, I don't retail much, not like he does...I can't take credit for his work, nor will I:) Jet sizes greatly depend on what your doing...are you running pods AT THE moment? do you have hacked off pipes? or pipes with no baffles? that's greatly going to affect how it idles or runs for that matter. A removed air box with straight out exhaust (NO BAFFLES) on a Honda Shadow Vt750 around your year, would run around a #134 jet in the front head and a #138 in the rear head carb with tuning of course in your fuel screws. Shouldn't need to mess with the pilot jets to much, then again I'm at 4000ft above sea level in the USA so you'll have to tinker with the fuel adjustment some... As far as the needle goes for a set up like stated above (Air pods and hacked exhaust with NO baffles) usually the needle would need to be on the 4th groove and typically you would need to cut off a small chunk of top of the needle just behind of your "E-Clip" so your plastic needle spring cap (little plastic screw that sits on top of the spring and needle head that you fasten into place at the bottom of your slide valve) will sit properly snug when its twisted into place. that way your needle can sit at the best height for your throttle engagement and not get shortchanged with the extra length at the top of the needle... A small height difference in the needle will make a difference in working in conjunction with the jets... I hope this helps some, Its hard to say exactly what your circumstances are without being there. I apologize if it seems like im down talking you in anyway,I tell people ALL THE TIME... I have no idea what your life is how much you wrench!!! k man, its like 1:00am here so I'm out, if you have any more questions that I can help you wiht just let me know. Thanks

Hi, Thanks for reaching out, the vids are old yeah, but the info is still way relevant. It depends of the bike and a few other things, but since you watched this one, i'm assuming you have this Shadow 750.. The setup on this particular bike is a kit called DYNOJET (las Vegas). The kit is a T-1183 stage 3, You'll need (pretty sure you do as you'll need just a bit bigger of size then even that kit has) to purchase a few extra jets on top of the kit itself...the jet sizes are as follows: Front head - size #134 Rear head - size #138 This is for a 2007 Honda Shadow 750 Spirit with pod filters and straight out exhaust, which means NO BAFFLES in the pipes, that will require a different ket set up. This bike is also in the USA at around 4000ft above sea level, so that will weigh in just a bit with tuning so you know. Hope this helps, if you have anymore questions, I'm around.

The thing is I have a 750 ACE and need to sync well enough the air mixture screws on the carbs, I followed the manual, started at 2 1/4 turns on both and started going half a turn out on each. Got to a descent point, but I hear like a pop on the carbs when I ride it and starts to choke on me so it looses power, any advice on setting it right?
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
Javier Gallegos - the manuals can get you fairly close, but sometimes drastic elevation changes can make a difference. ALSO!! I hate to be judgmental, but are are emulsion tubes all hooked up right and tightened up or capped off?? Is your carb seated all the way down and tightened?? You can check it by running the bike at idle and spraying some starter fluid around the carb boots, if the bike surges, that could be your problem as well (vacuum leak) I'm assuming your asking cause you rejetted right? Sorry man, I know this might seem like "yes I did all of that" but I m not there;) another thing some people don't do is rebuild with fresh gaskets on the carbs that can be a big deal too, take some starter fluid around the bowls of the carbs as well.. Jet size will make difference depending on what you did to the bike, I'm assuming the manual came from a jet kit?? USUALLY (not all the time) but you can get away with a 138 for the rear cylinder and a 134 for the front with spacers and the needles on groove #4 (with the top of the needle shaved off for clearance) for a 750 twin if you have a pod filter and straight out exhaust with no baffles if that all makes sense? If you have any other problems let me know I'll be around;) thanks

I went with a DYNO jet kit (google them) great company. there are different stage kits you can get though so be careful if your not familiar with them, this particular set up has a "DYNO JET T-1183 kit" its a stage "3" kit... which basically means that it has a pod filter set up, AND a straight out exhaust (no baffles) so if your running any type of different setup than what I metnioned call DYNO JET and explain to them what, and they will tell you what you need. As far as the pod I.D and dimensions dont remeber off the top of my head, but you can just measure the diamiter of the intake on the carb and get a filter thats close. the rubber on the filter will stretch some so it doesnt have to be perfect.

k sounds like you a stage 3 set up, there are some small contingencies to be careful about unless I had the actual carb in front of me and looked at your bike I would hate to lead you astray, TJ does do that video about vacuum setups like you were saying, but I don't know if I could do a better job explaining just over the net. I will tell you this though, running velocity stacks and cutting out a lot of things that were meant to run with the bike DOES lessen the life of the engine. I used to do a lot of that myself and I can tell you that it will lower engine life....all that crap on there is to help it run better keep it cleaner and communicate to the computer what your throttle and what is doing, I have since left almost everything on all my other projects and the ones currently for the most part. however they will work with out it though, and that's why TJ. does those sorts of things (he knows what he's doing for sure) I'm sorry I couldn't help you more, the net can be tough to explain things like this unless we hung out for an afternoon. The best I can tell you is to re- watch that video and take your time with it, experimentation always works too, if you unplug something and it runs our starts to run like crap then you know what you can get away with and what you cant:) it's what most of us started out doing anyway! You didn't even change the front engine cover. (Diy tip: The left side rear cover can be bolted to the front right side when you remove your stock intake. You just have to cut a spot to accommodate the exhaust and then you dont have to look at that ugly shit.) Of course you have to be able to find another bike to remove the cover from though. lololol
