Its just occurred to me... The Air Force is like a 4 year job interview. It can be stressful because you dont know what might be coming, or asked of you. You do know it will end at a certain point. but everything in between.. is generally uncertainty. If you know this going in... USE the Air Force. get a good job skill that you can use on the outside. Staying past 4 years is a mistake. The military asks you sign a 4 year contract, because they know they can not keep good people without that threat. So, go in for 4 years, collect all that you can, and drop the Air Force like a hot rock.
Tech school was awesome! My first school was at Keesler. Wicked cool. My second was well over a year long. Boom school was super cool. However, just like high school and BMT, you get out of it what you put into it. Look up the USO. You show your ID to get in. Follow the rules. We dropped a bunch of people for being stupid. Never forget to have fun, be safe, and study. Have a great career because it flies by. Thanks for joining and fighting for us.
My tech school was 2 phases and 8 total months. Phase 2 was way more relaxed than phase 1. 1 was still really rigid. We also marched everywhere during duty. PT was 4:45am. Phase 2 I had my own room but shared a bathroom. No mandatory PT as long as we passed our tests but we still went to the gym anyway. I didn’t gain weight until I was out of tech school and 2 years of active duty 😂
I am not sure if its still a thing but there is also AFI(awaiting further instructions). There are many causes of it as failing a class, ending a class before the next one starts, failing out all together, and a few more. This happens more in large squadrons and longer schooling. This is where a lot of the duties took place at my school at Keesler. We also had enough females that they had there own hall which no male outside of MTL or on duty could enter and its announced that a male was entering the hall in case you had your door open you could close it before they crossed it. Last thing is some schools the uniform of the day changes depending on what your course work looks like. During theory work it was blues at least a few days. If it was hands on all days were in the utility uniform.
back in the 70s, underage enlisted were allowed to drink beer (only) at what was called The Pinger Palace or you could purchase beer, wine or liquor at the CLass 6 store but it could only be consumed in your dorm room
So my daughter graduates basic at the end of December. I'll be attending her graduation. Am I not allowed to bring her suitcase full of whatever she needs for tech school? So she can fly with it to tech school? 🤔
Irrespective of what school is involved it is paramount that all trainees do well there! Understand that each command has the authority to dispatch derelict trainees to military fry cook school!! And for millions, it's been the fear of being commandeered to the fry cooks that motivates hordes of trainees to Ace these schools. And Sickbay commandos beware!
I finally passed my Asvab exam after all the stress.I thank God for the great opportunity and my tutor Thomas 🎊🎊🎉🎉 All my prayers to those struggling to pass through Asvab cause it hasn't been easy.I hope y'all make it some day too Amen🙏
i just love your videos. you know exactly what you're saying, not only that, but you know who your audience is. of all the research ive done, you are the only one who brings me clarity by the end of the video and not more questions. like before i could wonder wtf is a mtl or uso you already answered that, most ppl speak as if their fellow airmen are watching not civilians. thank you.
Thanks again for another informative video i love your content & its very helpful & really nice to have a picture of what i will be going through before BMT & Tech school! You’re awesome mikayla keep it up!
