As someone who needs to replace my neutral gray OG lows, I’m so hyped for this release. My outsole has almost no traction left and I’ve been wearing them daily for almost a year now.
Dude absolutely love the Birds Eye "MJO" style for comparisons. It's way easier to see differences with the Birds Eye down cam vs the B Roll Also faint nostalgia back to the OG NW style of just hands handling shoes haha Keep it up Chris we're so grateful!
All OG 1985 jordans with white tongues had a polyester tongue that was woven just like that! All the black 85 tongues had a silky fine woven tongue. Love JB starting to apply these small details
I love the effort of bringing back the '85 but tbh I find the leather quality is still disappointing with a bunch of creases just after one wear with their heavy plastic coating. And probably the shoes need to be worn more but i feel like it squeezes your feet a lot with the extra padding and all.
This AIR JORDAN 1 '85 LOW 'Neutral Grey' is an actual retro because the 'Neutral Grey' was also in low cut, in 1985 so I think they gonna give us what AIR JORDAN 1 (1985) fans want, they about ti drop 1 by 1 all the OG colorway and maybe some SAMPLE ones if not all, but we just have to be patient, I think the Chicago will be dropped in 2025 for it's 40th anniversary, if not, 50th (it would be awesome)
2021 Neutral grey low is my gymshoe for quite some time and haha they are a bit fucked up and somewhat the heel lining got out but without a hole its difficult to discribe but sometimes you can feel the edge of the heel construction. When it comes to looks i prefer the 2021 tbh
Excuse me, did you even see the toebox on the Jordan 1 he wore on court in 1985? Maybe you should educate yourself on that. It was wider and the toe rand didn’t come up as high. So save me that comment. The Travis Scott 1 lows are more like a real OG as far as shape. @@dizzle.1983
Urgh I would love that they choose to use the reverse Black/Red box instead of this White/Red box just have some consistency to the 85' cut series. As an OG sneakerhead, I hate the idea of different colour shoeboxes.
Thanks as always for such an informative review. And a special thanks on the sizing tip - I just got a pair and stayed true to size this time, really glad I did!
I love the comparison that you have been doing. Also agree the vibe shoe with the shape and cream color look more like a dunk. I prefer the 2023 jordan brand version.
@@ThatWrapperDude That's a completely different type of leather & tannery process to ensure it's durable. You want to play basketball in some work boots or do you want the upper to be flexible? When breaking down something for people to learn, you have to actually do it right and with proper context otherwise you end up with a bunch of angry people claiming something that isn't factually accurate. We can't sit here and compare a Toyota Corolla to a Ferrari or a high end luxury vehicle simply because they're all vehicles. They all have a different purpose. Some are for luxury, some are for sport, some are for daily driving at affordable prices. Context is everything.
Have been waiting for this video. The toe shape on 85s looks kinda goofy on feet. The real original 1985s don’t seem to have that banana toe shape. I still want them though 😂
Finally an AJ1 low that actually looks good. Been a while since I felt that way. Especially lately - all the releases have looked funny IMO and I’m wondering where the hype has been coming from. I’m not an OG head nor a historian so this is a general consumer perception opinion of mine, not a technical one.
Already got a pair of these for under retail from StockX and really dig 'em. Hopefully the 85 cut starts to be more available and attainable with coming releases. Have only been able to get one pair of the highs.
Agree these 85 lows are so nice and comfy and I love how the look on feet. I got mine from goat pulled the trigger a little early and paid a little to much but I’m definitely buying a double if not triple up of those 85 neutral grey lows
This is amazing! When was this released? Started the Low OG line in Neutral Grey, same with 85 low line. But I just wish Nike just made all the Lows in 85 rather than giving many names. So confusing
I like the look of those. I’ve had 3 pair of the high 85 neutral greys (sold them all…😞) but these days, I’m feeling lows as of late. Also, the price and availability are to my liking.
they look so off... much bulkier and goofy af. The new colors are also uglier. The old neutral gray ones look much slicker and cooler overall, looks like the whole shoe or sole was thinner to the ground. also the colorway with just the nike logo being grey was way better.. biggest L drop
So are you upset you went 1/2 size down on these? I was wondering about this. I typically go 1/2 down on OG lows. I still don’t know If I should still stick with going down in size
You must be new here 😂 Chris always breaks down the tech of every sneaker. It's what sets him apart versus reviewers that just talk about the colors, laces, and other stuff that's easy to see with our own eyes.
@@Drew.Whitcomb i am new just poking fun. Im sure my little bullsht is irrelevant to him. He is wonderful greatest great. Just polyurethane says it a lot i thought it was funny. Thats all.
Thanks for the comparisons! I love these sort of videos! Makes me wish mjo would post more often ❤ One bit of feedback for the comparison when you place them all down is that it's difficult to view proportions exactly due to the camera angle being different on each of the 3. Not sure what the best way to fix it would be, but I'm thinking maybe a slightly curved surface so the camera angle is the same on all 3, ooor 3 different shots edited together but that's a lot more work 😅
Why do the real og 1's/lows have that bubble shape to the toe box? That gives it the most retro look imo and no retro ever gets that right. These 85's got that pointy toe which i hate. I still prefer viberemakelab and '15 og lows. The 15 og lows leather is meh except the Chicago's which are nice and soft. The quality and silhouette of VRL in hand are amazing. I completely regret selling my VRL black toes, but i just can't be wearing such expensive shoes anymore. Slightly over retail at most from now on for me. Keeping my beat up '15 og lows except the Chicago which are my favorite but they're just too valuable and the money in my bank is more important for me now so hmu w/ offers for size 8.5 m Chicago og low 1s w/no box, buyer pays shipping. Located in Houston
We all had the ajko union canvas lows and the black cement lows WHY THE HELL did we need 50 more pais of dunks and jordan 1 lows in that white/sail/grey color combination they are all a hard pass for me because they're so similar
So if you’re one with wide foot and wear and tts on lows, not down .5 like most… would I go tts still or up .5 on these since 85 cut and the more padding ???
