Great vid I’ve used airlift for years I installed them on my first motor home I have them on my 97 F250 7.3 they are extremely helpful. Airlift has been around since the end of WW2 they were early sponsors of NASCAR in the 50’s running the sand at Daytona Beach.

AutoEdits I’ve got a 2013 10a jku and just went 37s gotta regear, brakes, driveshafts and axle shafts. How is your power stop brakes holding up I’m thinking of getting the crown big brake kit and running power stop pads on it since it takes ram 1500 pads.

I'll be honest with you... I drove the Teraflex big brake kit on a Jeep back to back with my Jeep with the Power Stop Z36 truck and tow kit and for the price difference... mine was every bit as good. No need to spend that kind of money in my opinion!

I know where that is. Couple friends have race shops out there. One even works on "Wild Pony's". ;-) Now I just need to figure out where your hill climb is? Haha If these bags don't work out off road, Carli sells some 12" long travel tapered sleeve Air Springs. You could probably source just the air springs and build your own kit a lot cheaper, since you already have most of what's needed to install them. Been thinking I'm just going to run some Timbren bump stops instead for simplicity.

They make air bags for the 2500 truck with a solid front axle but nothing for the IFS trucks like this.

I have a 2012 1500 4×4 with a leveling kit. Because of the leveling kit as soon as I put as little as 150lbs in the bed it noticeably squats. Is this product something that would work with a leveling kit?

Yes, for sure. This makes so much difference when hauling stuff or towing. Mostly when I go camping off road with all my gear. I love the airlift setup

Do the airbags basically replace the springs? If you take out all the air ..except for the recommended 5lbs, do the stock springs still work?

No they assist the stock springs. I run them at 5 psi around town for a nice smooth ride and only add air when I’m hauling or towing stuff. Plus when I’m camping they help a ton for leveling the rig!

Hopefully you still check the comments. Was just about to install the Icon rear springs on my ram and it's detailed as giving you 1.5" lift. Was curious if you installed spacers on your airbags or if you just installed them with the parts that came with the airlift 5000+? No issues with bag stretch I'm assuming?

That was a tricky question for me. I didn't want to limit the uptravel by putting the spacers and at full droop in this setup really put the bags at the stretch limit but they have held together fine all these years and are still functioning well.

I just bought my first ram and have a 4 inch front 2 inch rear suspension lift and I just bought the airlift and it’s on the way. Will the 2 inch lift in the rear affect the airbags to where they won’t work?

I'm not sure... just make sure the bags don't stretch too much at full suspension droop. Otherwise should be fine.

Unfortunately, you did the wrong test with your new Air Lift setup...IMHO. The leveling of the ride is what they were designed for, so no surprise. But, taking them off-road with and without a load would be the test! How does the truck handle the off-road...and does the new Air Lift reduce articulation? Rebound? 4wheeling abilities? Still...enjoy the video! The system is TOP of the line...and now you have a compressor on-board to air up your tires when you're done off-roading... lol!!

Unladen it really shouldn't be any different with the bags at ~5psi or so. It won't limit compression as the bumpstops limit uptravel and assuming the internal bumpstops are comparable in height to stock ones, it should be a non-issue. Regarding full extension, the bags can stretch a bit if need be so they won't limit droop, either. Now, that being said.....lugging something heavy through rough terrain could be interesting because the airbags are effectively increasing the spring rate, but the damping is still being done by the same shocks. I agree, it would be an interesting experiment!

Good question... I just tested that the shocks would limit the down travel and they do (just barely) enough to protect the bags.

Nice. Could the airbags while inflated for max ground clearance handle getting through a short rock crawl? ...let's say about a few feet and not a crazy difficult terrain

I’ve taken them off road and might have even jumped the truck a little with the bags and they seem fine... I don’t recommend that but the point is that they are very durable. I’m going on a huge trip into Baja Mexico with the truck right now so I’ll let you know how they do!

Awesome video, so how did you hook up your 5000+ with the 72000 remote, I'm looking at the 5000+ and I have the 72000 already from my last truck, since the lines of the 5000+ lines are Stainless Steel? Also, where did you install the Shrader valve or did you just ran the SS line to the wireless 72000 pump? '

I ran the lines right to the cool little manifold that the remote operates. You can use the stainless as far as they reach and then go standard lines the rest of the way. It was really easy and I'm loving the setup for more than just towing and heavy loads... they help when off road camping as well. I haven't yet plumbed in a schrader valve for emergency fill if the compress goes bad... keep meaning too.

@@AutoEdits I was thinking of doing it that way but I have the 72000 wireless remote, I will most likely put the valve some place also. Now I was thinking about the 5000 plus what different do it make to have as hoses when you will eventually attach the regular lines to it. To me it don't make since, to use the ss line, you can't use them if you are planning on using the remote setup Now if you run the ss lines from the bag to out back with it you should minimize leaking. I think that I just get the 5000 and not the +.

@@bishopgeorge1333 I have the wireless remote. The stainless lines are more durable and look better for routing around the axle and suspension bits. Driver's side went right to the manifold and I had to extend the passenger line about 2 feet of nylock line. Works perfect. 5000 + offers internal jounce bumpers and I use the heck out of those when I'm off roading so if you drive your truck like a truck... get the + if you can.

How much travel do you lose? Looks like you lose a little compression travel before contacting that new bump stop.
