Regardless if you acted or not, this is how I imagine French people talking about their designs. I don't know why they have such big face though, especially after the First World War and after WW2. At least us, Hungarians wasn't even a domestic design to be proud of, we didn't have much and all of them were outdated already when entered service. And the 39M Csaba is just gone from the collective memory of the people. I didn't know it existed until it was added into the game eventhough I'm a tank enthusiast so that's saying something
I quite like the accent, actually! And I promise, I will get back to grinding the French tech tree. I'm researching both the early MBTs and jets, but I haven't spent enough time spading the whole of either tree. I'll return when I'm done with Italy... and China... and probably Japan...
Little fun fact, french and german aviation history shared similarities in fighter categorization during the interwars of thinking single engined nimble fighters are a thing of the past and wanted to opt out for more "elegant" in their mind multi turreted heavier designs that would be used as gunships. The result of this was the Potez 630 and Bf 110 respectively, while they "condescendingly" regarded their single engine fighters as light fighters, hence there was only a certain amount of development put into it. Hence the Bf 109 only was started to get replaced or faced competitors after the massive failure of the Bf 110 over the Battle of Britain, where at last the doctrine of multi turreted fighters was deemed ineffective for the main role.
people don't play the french tech tree 'cause they suck, chads play the french tech tree to show others how good they are at the game (get it? cause one entire rank takes 3 - 5 months?)
I love the italian tech tree. I am currently subjecting myself to hell and grinding out the G.91 preproduction with only module research bonuses. so far I am 25k in so I am a quarter of the way there without doing anything.
The G91 is my objective, it has been my childhood, I’ve seen it in countless museums in Italy, my grandfather helped design it, it has always been dear to my heart, seeing it fly for one last time at the 100th anniversary of the Aeronautica Militare Italiana was amazing, I sometimes go to see it in museums and it’s gorgeous, not far from my city too! It looks amazing, it handles well, it was the chosen aircraft for the Frecce Tricolori before the MB-339 and it looks “happy” and funny, I have a bond with that aircraft.
For the Sm.91/92, I personally prefer the 92’s maneuverability and roll rate, and is a bit stronger, unlike the 91, who can’t even last long im arcade without losing its tail. The 92’s back gun is basically dead weight, but if you like playing Bf 110 C/F, you’ll like the SM.92
I also want to mention the Cr.42. The top of the line in biplanes. Very fast while retaining agility, so much so that in air RB, I’d consider it more of a boom and zoom fighter. The 12.7mm MGs help, being able to take down enemies many BRs higher than yours, like the P-47 from 4.3 that I one-shot. Same machine guns on the Cr.32, if you need a slower, more maneuverable version. Lastly, a fun fact. The Cr.42 DB, a special variant fitted with a Daimler-Benz inline engine was the fastest biplane ever.
I feel it should've been mentioned to any prospective players looking to get into France that for tiers 1-2 you may get 20 mil cannons (only 60 rounds), but only ONE per plane mounted through the engine. I'm actually amazed this wasn't mentioned. Trigger discipline is absolutely paramount to your success with these planes!
As a french guy I have to say that a was not able to understand what you were saying without the text. But it is clear that I had fun and you explained as a real french guy would do it, merci citoyen !
As a proud and unapologetic Italian main, I approve! Couldn't have said it better, in fact. Low-tier and mid-tier props are some of the best fun you'll ever have in Air RB, and once you master them, you'll feel it like never before. Fighters are lean, attackers are mean, and bombers are... okay. I think they're actually pretty good, just very poor defenses. Speed and bomb load made them very smooth and simple grinding. Jets are unfortunately not as good, but we do get some interesting options, including some not added yet, like the AMX ground attacker. I had one hell of a nightmarish time spading all of the planes up to top-tier though, let me tell you about the F-104S stock grind before it had countermeasures... F-16A ADF won't stay one of the best for long, but it'll eventually get AIM-120s. AV-8B gives us AIM-9Ms, so there's that. Typhoon... someday!
YEEEESS NEW VIDEO I Always loved and Always will love your videos man, your guides helped me learn how to play WT and I liked how they Always simplyfied what I tought were complex topics in WT. I love all of your videos man, keep up the good work!
Yea i agree the sm91 is great. Also the AA nords on the g91-r1 are great it help the lack of firepower I personally really like using the r1 I think it's great.
19:12 The Étendard is the best 9.0 aircraft, it can gain energy quickly, can reach mach 1 when diving, it can outrun basically every jet at 9.0, has 95m/s climb rate, when uptier it's still competetive
Thanks you so much for videos like this! Its almost impossible to find videos about low tier planes, but as a new player i find them very useful. Thanks a lot
@@skDoger Yeah..he had quite a few stories to tell. He flew with the French Air Force in both WWII and Indochine. I'll tell you a quick story. He was on a reconnaissance mission over Germany during the Phony war 1939-40 (a common thing) when 2 BF-109s jumped him. He thought he was dead but because this was the phoney war the Germans just escorted his plane back across the border back to France.
Italy is a good Nation, but the aircraft keep getting moved up for no real reason, for me I think the C205s are all equals to the 109-G2 and the Typhoon which are at 4.3, and for a more extreme case the re2005 at 6.0 despite it having the flight performance of a 4.3 fighter(Ie. Spit Mk9 or A6M3 otsu)
They moved the re2005 up because american players were mad that it out turned them or atleast when I looked at the comments on the br change that put it at 6.0. some people said it should go to 6.3 for some reason
@lechardonrouge6172 Yeah, because people try to turnfight one of the best turnfighters. I played it a lot, and most of the time, you'll just die to someone above you, it relies on the enemy being stupid at that BR
Personally I like the M.D. jets for cas lmao fast and the 30’s do some solid work around the 8.0-9.0 ground BR rockets are recommended instead of bomb dropping but so far the alpha jet has given France some solid life and cas work at 9.0
Sweden is mostly made of ultra specialized planes. Want a ground attack ? Fine, but that’s all it will be capable of doing. A fighter ? Same. Overall, I did not have a great time, except a few pearls, grinding the Swedish air tree. It’s kinda similar to the French, as they have pretty situational planes that don’t really like any form of uptiers, especially at higher BRs. However, I’d still recommend the tree knowing the gripen is around the corner, and is a beauty of a plane
As for the french, the F4U-7 Corsair is imo the best 6.0 groundsupport plane. You get more than a 100 sneb rockets and 3 1000lbs bomb. It's funny. Also the Corsair mogs heavily the AD-4
French domestic at rank 2 bad? Well, I must thank my NC.223.3 and Leo 451 for taking me through them at a breeze, since the first can basically turn fight with fighters and destroy them with the turrets, and the last one can just rush 2 bases in a straight line and run away at 500km/h in a straight line or shallow dive. The only disadvantage is that dive speed, but not an issuenif all I need is just to keep my distance and run to my base. Also, the VG 33 C1 and the Potez felt really nice to me, they're really agile and it didn't feel that hard to dodge BnZ attaks and get guns on them. I feel like I could turn sharp while still maintaining 300+km/h.
I think the italian .50 cals are incredibly strong and i'd rather have them then the 20mm mg 151 which is why i prefer the G.55 sottoserie 0 over the 1. The stealth belts pack a punch.
I remembere the time when breda safat was completely useless and dealt no damage, now it is a lot better, but still mg 151 with Minengeschoß is better.
Now, my quick input on the French tree. Early tiers 1 and 2 is not that bad. They don’t master anything, but they are also not bad in anything. American tree is great rank, especially for mixed battles (F4U7 for the win baby). Early jets now… Ouragan barougan are great at 7.7. Not the best at air superiority, but still very much usable. Now, they suffer more than others in uptiers. And that’s the same for all other low tier jets. They scale in battle ratings because they are technically better than the previous French jets, but they don’t scale as well against other nations counterparts. The French equivalent to the mig 15, which I think is the 452C or maybe the muster IV, aren’t even close to being as good as the mig. However, they are still very decent for CAS. Not the best bomb load out, but they can bomb and defend themselves pretty well. On my part, I used to love French 9.0 to 9.3, but like all nations that aren’t Russia or the US, you’ll have to face f104s, mig21 and 30g missiles, which is not great for subsonic aircraft’s without flares. Étendard IVM is solid in ground, and can defend itself against similar 9.0-9.3 (the important bit being similar, as it is, like most at this br, left in the dust behind supersonic f104s and mig21s). The vautours aren’t worth it anymore, especially without the air spawn. Consider this plane dead. Mirage IIIs and 5 now… it recommend only the 3E. The 3C and 5 don’t have flares, which is a death sentence at 10.0. The mirage 5 can be used for CAS in some manners, but the Super Étendard and Jaguar are better at it. The mirage IIIE isn’t the best, but is very usable, after the pretty steep learning curve. The mirage F1s are solid picks I think today. And they should be even better when the top tier will go up one extra BR, keeping them away from to many uptiers against f16s and MiG 29s. The magic 2s are a joy, definitely the best IR missiles below 12.0. The super 530 F isn’t great, but hopefully one day Gaijing will manage to actually implement the counter counter measure of the missile making it much, much better. Mirage 2000s are almost god tier, just below the f16c and MiG 29 SMT/G, and the combination of the 2000D and 5F, one being a bomber and the other one being classified as a fighter, might make the most bonkers CAS lineup. For the very low price of about 1200 SL, you can basically delete the entire enemy ground force, even if 1 or 2 pantsir are sitting around, thanks to a total of 4 of probably the best laser guided ground missiles, 5 guided bombs, and 5 dumb bombs, all of that controlled thanks to 2 great thermal pods designators. Edit : special note on the vautour IIN, which is a stupidly bad, yet fun aircraft. At 8.3, nothing can kill you, and you won’t kill anything either, except the 1 or 2 times you actually wipe someone out of the sky with a lucky radar missile shot. Truly a joy
as someone who mains the Etendards they are a very decent and competent support fighter and not just a CAS aircraft and again like as said for the F8U for air combat but if you give it a try and learn to exploit others speed then it can be a absolute menace to those thinking its a free kill.
Still disapointed with the fact that France is considered a Minor nation considering they remained a great power on par with the UK the whole time besides 1940-44
UK is also considered a minor nation in WT. It means any nation that isn't US, USSR or Germany. It's kinda an old term now as the minor nations have gotten a lot bigger, but when this term was invented only US, USSR and Germany were big and all the other tech trees are small.
I feel crazy, never figured out how to actually get the use out of the SM.91 because I'm constantly beamed out the sky when I use it or 3 people spawn planes as soon as I shoot through their roofs
You know what's not good for me: I'm on console so i get sniped by PC Players almost all Arcade and Realistic air battle, but at least i am good at Tank arcade and sometimes Realistic.
They used to be the vb 10s at rank 4 but Gaijin butchered it put them at rank 3. Also there are alot if planes they could add like the vampire (licence built) or the meteor.
I cannot fuckin believe you skipped over the early italian strike aircraft, those things are funny as all hell. You have the Ba. 65, which is an obscenely good fighter, the p108a, which is the opposite and my personal contender for worst aircraft in the game, and the F.C. 20 BIS, with a 37mm autocannon
