I used the std ones for many years, then upgraded to Milton S-217 high flow. Recently went to Tru-Flate 3/8th fittings 12-680 which had a 21/64 bore compared to 9/32 on Milton and 13/64 bore on std. the Tru Flate has 62% more performance than std. the 12-680 from Tru-Flate is a game changer, never knew my air tools were these monsters....
The full kit is great with the two V connectors, also cause you’ll also want to change the coupler on up the compressor/air tank as well as at the end of your air hose.
Just ordered some brass V fittings for my new California Air Tools 8 Gal compressor, rated at 3.1 CFM at 40 PSI w/ 70/30 duty cycle. Spray gun I got is 2.1 CFM at 40 PSI. I'm trying to get the most out of my little compressor. I know high flow fittings and bigger hose will have the compressor work more. I'll be staining/painting woodwork. I'm not trying to paint a skyscraper here. :P
high flow female quickcoupler , 1/2 hose and high flow luber/filter and compressor -regulator is as inmportant also.. many cheap compressors wont let much airflow thru the rugulator!!
Not disagreeing with added flow but if that smaller fitting does 40 cfm and most tools seem to rated to require under 10 cfm. So is it really necessary?
It's one of those things that has an improvement "in the field", but doesn't make much sense "on paper". It removes a bottleneck and optimizes your tool basically.
