The information in this video is incorrect. I have an Evanix Rex BA .357 pcp air rifle. I have recently purchased and tested this product in my rifle and it works just fine out to 30 yards. The biggest drawback is that these airbolts use a LOT of air. I only get 3 good shots from a full 200 bar fill. But as I hunt turkey primarily and the state has a max yearly harvest of 2 per year, this is fine with me.
Why would you want to shoot arrows out of a .35 airgun if yiu can achieve similar energy with pellets or slugs? What is the advantage of using airbolts compared to slugs and pellets in this calibre?
Most of that change comes from grass roots efforts. Arkansas is one of the few states that expressly forbids arrow hunting when propelled from a compressed air system, but write the dept. of game and fish and see what can be done.
I plan on it. They also expressly forbid airguns for deer hunting! May have to make a trip up to Missouri to hunt. Still can't wait to try these though!
For S&G's get Airforce to send out a 24" Texan barrel? If it show's enough interest maybe they can offer it as a special upgrade through PA? As always great video Tyler and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the kind words. We will see. I can tell you right now, regardless of barrel length, the biggest issue with actually shooting these out of the texan would be getting a target/backstop that would actually be able to stop them.
Sadly, that doesn't change the fact that with a stock Texan barrel, there is roughly 8-9" of dead space that doesn't provide enough back pressure to keep the valve open long enough to give them shot full energy.
Question..is there an extension for the air bolt that would allow the installation of a broadhead to be screwed on the air bolt when it is fully seated in the Bulldog barrel which would be at least flush to the end of the barrel. If so...what is it and where do I get them..Thanks..??
Tested in a few Evanix rifles, sadly the barrels are too short to get good accuracy from. They will definitely shoot out of the guns, but accuracy in my testing was pie plate groups at 30 yards. 10-12"
Will broadheads work in the bulldog and I have the ataman mr2 t ype2 357 but the barrel is choked so will the air bolts work in it I did watch your video but I do not know if the MR2 type 1 is choked in the 357 and I also want to know if the broadheads will work for the ataman so I guess that's three questions
The issue with broadheads in both guns has to do with the shrouds and the clearance. It there was a mechanical broadhead with a diameter small enough to fit inside of the shroud of the bulldog, it would be usable. In the Ataman, the barrel ends about 1" behind the end of the shroud, so a broadhead could probably be used without much issue. You'd be sacrificing a bit of velocity since the bolt wouldn't be seated all the way, but it would be minimal. The choke of the barrel is a non issue as far as the bolts go.
I have a bulldog and pondered the same question then I remembered maybe I can extend the shaft by adding weight inserts to end of arrow, yes the arrow would be heavier by 50 grains but also 1.1 inch longer, so broadhead can be screwed in outside of shroud. out of the bulldog Im not worried about the added weight slowing down the arrow more concerened about getting it to seat and allowing broadhead to screw in outside of shroud since the arrow seats in about 3/4 to 1 inch inside shroud against barrel.
if the magazine is in and empty the bolt will be blocked, I take mine out to shoot arrows out of my bulldog. recently though I have purchased a recluse .357 and 909s light hunter 45, the recluse is now my arrow gun leaving my bulldog for rotary magazine fun! and 45 for heavy lead hits. You can never have to many air rifles!
I got those for my Airforce Texan 457. Haven't tried it yet because I don't have an archery stop. Lol Also I can't figure out how to get the field tips off. Lol
At around 150 ft/lb of energy shooting lead it limits size and distance of game being shot, I personally would not want to hunt any dangerous game with my .357 and keep it to medium sized animals. this is where the airbolt changes the world of air gun hunting and puts that same .357 into the department of large or dangerous game. Any where you can use a crossbow or compound you can now use your air rifle....local and State laws permitting... there is even a video of a Cape Buffalo being taken with a Dragon claw .50 and airbolt. Large and Dangerous! After using mine, lots of practicing, I would not hesitate to use it on animals the size of Elk or Moose, shooting faster than the fastest crossbow (The Scorpyd VTEC Extreme @ 440fps), my recluse is fast and Dangerous!
I bought a set and destroyed 2 first time out, one when it went through target and into tree jacking up aluminum tip holder, the other was arrow on arrow hit... very accurate!... good news is I have 4 left for hunting and the rubber ends can be bought seperately! now just need the aluminum front adapter!
I can't really see it being any good it looked like to me you were having to try to shove the arrow too far down into the barrel and if you've got a fixed head or a mechanical Broadhead on the end of your arrow it will not go into the barrel like that so you're going to have to leave too much Gap and they won't fly right if you can't get the arrow to seat like it's supposed to
OK ~1st it days that they are for any .35 Bb PCP With a 21"+ barrel. Well the B.Bulldog only has a 18" barrel so whats up with that?... ...~2nd Should we be concerned about damaging the rifling and/or crowns of our barrels over time or with heavy use shoving long arrows down the business end, carbon fiber or not??... PCPs are too expensive for all that when we could just buy a crossbow for less than a new barrel. (((Not to mention 6 bolts for $100 bucks is insane IMO))) I love the PCP game as much as the next guy but somethings got to give with the prices on everything pcp related. It blows my mind that its less expensive for a new full auto rifle FIREARM than it is for so many PCPs like for example pretty much the whole line of FX, DAYSTATE on and on... its nuts.
Bulldog barrel is 28".....not sure where you're getting your info from on that. As for the damaging of your barrel, no. There is not a concern. The nock on the bolt is made of a hard plastic, nothing that is going to damage a steel barrel, same with the insert...it's aluminum and simply pressing it flush to the crown is not going to damage it.

David thomas well ask yourself... Do you want to keep buying pcps here and there and starting a collection. OR do you want to buy a mac daddy and just be good having 1 gun thats top notch to where you wont need another. If you just want to get 1 kickass gun and be good for as long as you want go with something like a FX. Like a Impact or Crown and youll be good. If you want to start building a collection. A Hatsan is a great place to start for less than $500 you can have a really nice first gun with hulk power
