I bought one 3 wks ago in 22 cal. I’ve tuned it down from factory to 1500 psi, also adjusted hammer spring down. I’m now shooting the jsb 15.89s around 850 fps and at 25 yards it shoots one ragged hole. Thanks for all the great advice and videos Rick.

I just want to put this out there: Don’t waste your money on expensive pellets. If you set your Avenger up right you can shoot Crosman Premiers Hollow-points and produce outstanding groups. All bragging aside, with these relatively inexpensive pellets I have mine tuned to hit old dvds lying down at 50 yards. I’m 76 years young- THIS IS ONE VERY ACCURATE GUN. Of course I’m talking the .22 version here. This was accomplished with a 10-40 power scope ( old eyes-lol ). I think it shoots better with the barrel plug removed; I’m thinking pressure distortion leaving the barrel- just my opinion but I see a slight difference. Very informative video- made me purchase one and its now my favorite in my collection.
Okay-Ba-Okay This gun seems to love Crosman hollow points. My gun is maxed out and it still groups under a dime at 60 yards - AND THEY’RE “CHEAP” TO SHOOT. . Have fin!
Chris Henning I’ve tried some old H&N 21.12 grain I had lying around. Wow, this gun loves them. I did this on a whim to just to get rid of them - I just ordered 5 tins; that says it all.
Those Crosman Hollow points, (in my opinion) are the best ad most well rounded pellets for any gun at every caliber they are made in. Regardless what I say though, when someone with 76 years of life experiences gives advice and opinions - I take it above everyone else's.

The Liberty’s are some of my favorite guns and so accurate at 3650 psi fill in .22. I have higher end guns but they are not my favorite...the Liberty’s are. Maybe I’m strange...don’t care. Big Mixx 76 great gun but unregulated sucks. Yes it is accurate but such an air hog and every shot drops a little bit at 50 yards after 6 shots. Just tired of 900$ worth of chit sitting in the closet all the time. And if I regulate it for another 60 bucks then it shoots at 835 FPS and just defeats the purpose of the .25 cal that I want. I will just us a sub sonic .22 LR powder burner and be done with it for a fraction of the cost.
Tim Briggs no sir, it was not at the time I had it. My son said he would take it, so I gifted it to him then he regulated it with a 60$ regulator I helped him get from Amazon. It still gets about 18 shots per fill/ or 2 magazines at around 830 FPS. He’s happy so that’s all that matters. The guns total weight is now 14 lbs. He is 6’10” and 390 lbs so it fits him better. I’m glad he accepted the Bullboss. The Avenger fits me way better and is a better over all gun in every way by far. I love my Liberty’s, and now I basically have them in all 3 calibers. After having worked with my Avenger I am more than impressed. Outshoots my Marauder at half the price. My choice was the.22; cheaper to shoot than the .25 and with the higher weight pellet will match it in power ( “minor” diameter increase aside ) Great gun at a great price point. Anyone on the fence, jump off and buy it.
I just got my Air venturi Avenger .25 cal. with bipod a week ago. I ordered it back in June. It's my first PCP rifle. I love it. I haven't had a chance to shoot it a lot but can tell that it's a solid gun. I see that if I want to shoot a lot I need to eventually get an electric pump. I look forward to shooting it at distance 30 plus yards. I love your video's. Your my favorite.
I have the Air Venturi Aspen in .25 cal a similar gun without a regular... it has an onboard hand pump, so it's a great self-contained pepper gun... pellet on pellet accuracy... cannot beat it for the money came with a 9x32 scope, which was adequate... Another great entry PCP.
This rifle caught my eye few months back,I already have a accurate .22 rifle in my FX STREAMLINE,looking at going up a caliber to .25 and the Averagers ticking all the boxes for me and if it shoots Hybrid and regular slugs would make this rifle a no brainer.
I just found this channel and I am beyond impressed with this guy! I watch A LOT of channels on air guns and no offense to any them, they’re all good… but this guy Rick is so descriptive, the production quality is great and if I had watched this video years ago, this video would have been the one that got me into PCP no doubt. I will be going through all this channels videos it just made top o’ the play list
I went with the hatsan flash at 299 ! $299 is not cheap if your not a millionaire plus the scope and a bipod your well over $500 great 👍🏻 video as usual rick
Well I’ve had mine since December now. I’m not sure which gun I love more, my Gauntlet or Avenger, both in .25. I’m just getting ready to get a chrono so I can start doing some tuning for more power, but as it sets right now, this gun is lethal. Very accurate, I’m not going to say FX, or Daystate, tack driving accurate, but it will stack Hybrids and NSA slugs with no issues. Can’t wait to see what it can do ramped up. And yeah. The trigger shape is different. Took a bit to get use too. I’ve shot powder burners for the last 30+ yrs. So the crescent trigger felt different, but I’ve adapted. I’ll hold off the grip a bit and use the tip on my finger and do more of a light push than a pull. That alone increased my accuracy. Wanting to polish the trigger assembly, sear and hammer, and then the barrel.
I just ordered the avenger .25 .... what a shooter both the gun ,and the guy pulling the trigger are ... i always when possible watch shooter 1721 test a gun out before I buy cause that guy knows how to shoot very VERY ! ACCURATE ! , so I get a better real world - with good shooter test results , very important to me .... SOLD !

Awesome Rick! Great review. I'm looking at picking one of these up later this year. I will probably go with the .22 though to get more shots per fill. All reviews so far have been positive on this gun. A lot of great features for not a lot of money.
Robert Funk better off to get the ATI Liberty in .22 and get the Avenger in .25. I have 3 and I can’t say enough good about them. Always want a .25 version of the Liberty and this is almost it👍
Awesome and honest video Rick on the Air Venturi. It’s an amazing budget PCP Rifle. If I bought one, I would buy a custom stock for it. That’s the only thing I would modify on it. Keep up the great videos.

I just want to add the scope Rick is shooting with is available at walmart 104 bucks , and i bought 1 this morning to put on the avenger , on 12 power it was very clear no distortion ,it also has a glass etched reticle,30mm tube , weight just 0.98 , ballistic MOA reticle..

Ok so like we all already know, the rifle is out of stock. I ordered the Avenger in .25 on June 21st. Pyramid Air estimates a in-stock date of June 30th. My estimated delivery date is July 6th. Can't wait to get my hands on this. Gunna order another UTG 4-16x44 for this one
This is so much better noise control than the Seneca eagle claw in your other review. At least it doesn't make that twangy banjo noise everytime you shoot it. Speaking of which twangy noise reminds me of my Benjamin Bulldog 🤔 . Anyway, great shooting as always Rick and I did candles shot w my gauntlet back then and that was fun. May be I'll try it again w my daisy red Ryder. Thumbs up 👍 👌 guys!
All right I'm sold Rick I just still can't wrap my head around this much gun for that price. I think I picked up my Marauder for the same price when they first came out , but ended up selling that truck driver to a friend of mine.
I’ve been interested in avenger since seeing it at the shot show in Vegas. I’m thinking the reg can be adjusted externally and degassed also the hammer spring is adjustable and it comes with 2 mags. It’s almost Father’s Day a little honey-honey might work. Thanks for the video.
I’m thinking we need to have a gauntlet/ vs. the avenger in .25 cal.... both same price and accurately out past 50 yards. Appolagize if it was said already I gotta right it when I think it or sheee gone
The trigger guard needs to be large enough for a adult wearing winter gloves because hunting season is during the winter months. This one is actually hard for a adult bare finger.
I am so excited I just got mine as of today, with a vevor pcp air compressor, can't wait to try, i don't have any experience on pcps, but i am sure I will get some with time
I have other PCPs, hatsons and whatnot, AArms, this my friends is NOT, I repeat, NOT, an entry level PCP lol, with all the features and it being regulated, its a complicated gun, I love my 25 avenger, it competes and sometimes will out do all my airguns, when I shoot and hunt with it, I let out the same sound, woooo woooo lol, love it😁

Rick what was your factory reg pressure. I got mine Friday, set it at 2200 psi. It came at 2990 psi and within a few minutes the reg creeped up to almost 3000 psi. PYA do not have anymore till September and I can’t wait that long. I may try to fix it with new O-rings on the reg...my Liberty’s never ever had this issue my friend . not complaining about this on a 300$ mind bending PCP...I will most likely fix the reg creep myself but at the moment 2200 psi sends JSB Hades at 917 FPS stupid accurate. I expected nothing less from Nova Vista Honestly! Their guns are amazing for the money. That said...what pressure did your gun come at? The gun is amazing other than the creep. God bless my friend!

Take my money...they did yesterday but since this piece aired, the prices have gone up considerably. In some cases up to $400 but you can find them around $350 as of June 8 2021.
Brother...if you still have the .25 cal Avenger please just give the .25 cal 31 grain H&N Grizzly slugs a try. Holy cow man! This is the only gun that I have that likes them. Brother the whole mag in 1 freaking hole at 850 FPS??? What!!! It loves these slugs! No BS! Stupid crazy accuracy with everything I have put in this gun. Regs at 2300 hammer spring at max for the moment...that’s it. Lights freaking out man. Just like the ATI Nova Vista Liberty’s...a lot of gun for your money.
Shooter1721 / Airguns Brother I’m talking stacked pellets. The only other gun I have in .25 is a Bullboss. It through them to the right a 1/4” at 26 yard sight in. So does this gun BUT! Holy cow! The same dang hole for 8 shots???? What in the world did Nova Vista do to their barrels that they like these slugs? For real? Thanks for your reply and love what you do for us all. God bless. Thanks for all your hard work and effort in making these great videos, I have reconsidered my position about the umerex gauntlet now and have now leaned more towards this gun, I already have a kral puncher pro walnut stock by air Venturi but it's heavy but it is a really great gun in .25 but I'm still looking for that one gun that just totally wows me when I'm out in the field.i would of liked to of heard of any of the cons to this riffle vs pro's but dang for the price it sure is appealing.
People will pay more for a nicer stock too. Same platform in a bull pup will sell even more. This industry just keeps getting better and better. Almost like a computer or iPhone.
Rick...I know the Avenger has been out for about 2 years now. Do you still consider it to be one of the best entry-level PCP rigs to acquire? If not, what other platform would you recommend. Currently, there are literally 1000's of vids published but IMO, your evals are some of the best around--I value your opinion which is easy to follow for a newbie layman like myself to easily follow. Thanks...and keep publishing GREAT content!

Update: Received my .22 version and it wasn’t a disappointment. Adjusted trigger to HAIR as I prefer it. Left the factory setting of 2700 but cranked the hammer setting to max. Shot other ( used) pellets at 50 yards- THIS GUN IS ACCURATE! Waiting for some company to produce a wood stock- this gun deserves it; maybe beech, better yet walnut.

Bought one. Right or is the box the stock was loose and the bolt was stripped. Exchanged for a new one. New one showed up with a scuff in the side and a loose barrel shroud. Once again screw holes were stripped. At $300 I guess you get what you pay for.
I been looking at this gun since it first came out. I like it but it would take me forever to fill it with a hand pump. I didn’t not have a compressor. How many shots are you getting in n a full tank in that 25 cal?
Hello, I am planning to buy an avenger air venturi in .25 and need some advice knowing that I would like to be able to shoot at 100 meters: 1) At what pressure should the tank be charged ? 300 bars ? 2) what pressure should I set the regulator to ? 3) How do I set the hammer? 4) To shoot at 100 meters, how big should the scope be? 5) Can we leave a small bottle connected to the rifle during the shooting to increase the number of shots?
