Wow! I just stumbled on this video and im so blown away. Javier this is amazing, I've seen photo realism mostly with paintings and other mediums but to capture this with airbrush is truly amazing :) I'm officially a fan!

I cannot believe 18 people disliked this video. Javier, you're my new professor. I noticed you paint with the air cap off and have to clean the tip quite often. I'm surprised that .18 needle can take all that. I guess I'm asking how you clean the needle the way you do; never could catch a good shot of it in the video.
Thomas Hanson Hi Thomas. Thanks for the kind words. This airbrush is an Iwata hi-line from the Kustom series. I believe it's a .3mm needle/nozzle setup. This Kustom series airbrush comes with a large cup which helps keep the paint from splashing out of the cup when I practice my bad habit of working without the lid. As far as cleaning cleaning the tip I usually blast some paint to wet the tip and then a quick wipe with my finger nail.

I've never before watched a step by step video clearly go out of my reach so fast, as I watch the air brush move I couldn't believe that picture was coming out of that airbrush, at one point it almost looked like time lapse photography, amazing! Now tell me about the white pencil.
What color of flesh tone is used? The closest I can come is using a transparent sand color from Createx and a mixed Orange from a primary red and yellow (both opaque) added to it.
Sir may I say sir your work Stunning bravo Sir Iv'e never yried ABiing bI shall give it ago and I'll myself a cheapdual Action I am very pleased one can mix Media because I only have one hand I was a little concerned but I'll give it ago certainly I hope I'll be able to use normal Acrylics as long as I thithe paint down enough.Well done again sir excellent work You sir are a GENUINE ARTIST...

Awesome technique. I just picked up an iwata hpcp with a sprint compressor. I've never airbrushed before. What paint would you recommend that looks similar to oils (final result realism) but not as harmful with the use of mediums etc. I have tried gouache and I do like the results thus far.
Mr Soto, this was very interesting to watch and informative thank you. I have just started to learn to airbrush and to be honest I'm rubbish. I have bought a infinity CR Plus and it's amazing, but my talent lets me down as I really can't draw. Can you please tell me a good paint to use with it as ready mixed paints vallerio feels to weak?. I also found the Artwork behind you AMAZING.

Hi , Javier can I ask you what is the color your doing the eye with initially, it looks like a Sepia color ? Its not a mix is it , if so what is the mix please ? Not been airbrushing that long , I use Wicked illustration paints with a Badger Xtreme Patriot 105 .
looks stunningly AMAZING to me. Can`t see any need for "pickyness" . The human body often goes against, if there is such a thing as "normality". I think this Artist has done a superb job in the portrayal of AN EYE.
The critics are often people who think they can Airbrush, but in reality, are just plain jealous ,or maybe they are pissed off because no one praises their efforts as much as people praise yours . To me ,this shows how UN professional THEY are ,when they find it necessary to criticize some one else`s work .Or was it the acknowledgement of the above headline that says "one of the world's best airbrush artists" that caused them to throw their toys out the Pram/stroller ? And I also wonder if they are "good enough YET " to have any tutorial DVD`s out ?
