Airbus A320 ILS Approaches Made Simple + Auto Land in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 | Tutorial 

The reason ATC is telling you to descend/climb when it appears you already are at the altitude - is because your altimeter is set to standard (29.92). Below 18,000 ft, press B to set the barometric pressure given by ATC. Above 18,000ft, all aircraft transfer to “flight levels”, and everyone sets their altimeter to 29.92. 18,000ft becomes FL180. This allows for everyone to be on the same page on their altimeter. Hope that helps

This tutorial is perfect you made it simple to understand compared to some RU-vidrs videos. Flight simulator needs something like this since the sim only really teaches you to land a Cessna which is very different from the jetliners

Just a couple of things to correct: - The localizer refers to the horizontal axis but vertical is called the glideslope. - The white diamonds would still show when the LS is turned on even if no localizer is picked up. The pink ones will not.

i just cant figure out landing i can never get lined up to the runway when using the auto pilot im putting in every command needed but im always just to high and the plane doesnt seem to respond when its time to descend

How do you get it to descend and land on the runway? I DID put it into approach mode, but my plane stayed at 3,000 feet and flew right over the airport..there must be more to it than just turning on approach mode

Hey, i try to Land the a320. The Same Route and i watched your ils tutorial. But as soon i retract the flaps, the nose rises up and the a320 climbs. Even without AP i cant Push the nose down again. So what i am doing wrong?

Absolutely true what you have said about ATC it can be weird at times, ie climb to 7,000 feet when fifteen miles from touchdown and ILS engaged, cancel flight following at this time ?? why ?? Also when selecting the destination air port how can you select the runway to land into the wind ? Having said that the FS is simply brilliant. One more comment the ground services, ie pushback, connect the walkway can be very odd at times. Finally don't ask the first officer to do anything other than take off as he gets totally confused, well at least he does with me. Has anybody else had issues with first officer ?

Can a real A320 land by itself in ILS/approach mode? I tried it in MSFS by keeping autopilot on all the way. It did show 'flare' on top of the PFD around 30 feet above the runway but the plane took a nosedive resulting in a hard landing.

I've found as recently as this week that the Series X version of FS2020 bugs out when following IFR/ILS; Coms tells you to be at one FL and the FMS tells you to be at a completely different level. As a real world pilot this is quite annoying. As a sim player its extremely frustrating. And the fact that you can't actually utilize the FMS system on the Xbox version... *womp*

That's same problem I find with ATC, I don't remember how many landing I've missed because the wrong reported altitude by ATC. Can you do a tutorial on what to do when you miss the landing and you have to do again an ILS approach and landing? Thank (I can't find how to land again via AP when I miss an approach, don't know what to do then, I'm running in circle by listening to ATC)

I can’t get the air speed below 190 knots, how much flaps do you use before the bend to final?

I have the Xbox version, and still getting used to it. For the Speed Brakes, you can either do "Armed," or a percentage from 0%-100%. If you want to have them engage, should they be armed or set to 0%, with Auto-Brakes set to MED/MAX? I also struggle with the approach and also being at the right altitude at the right time w/ the right speed. Seems like I can never get the managed altitude/speed/etc. to engage, and I have to manually set my altitudes and speed.

My plane doesn't flare on it's own with auto land, it just falls hard at around 50ft. Am I doing something wrong? It does display land and then flare but it still falls hard. AP1: on Auto Thrust: on Flaps: Full Speed Brake: Armed

Tried this on two attempts. As I go to touch down the plane points it’s nose up and lifts off about 20 feet. What have I done wrong? Could it be that my throttle was still set forward even though auto throttle was on?

You didn't reset your altimeter. That's why they kept telling you to go descend etc.

the AP in fs2020 is a BIG SHIT , a lot of altitude bug , you have to use the V/S to solve this issue

Missed to set qnh, wind, mda, dh on fms. And landing at 750ft/min is not exactly a butter lol
