Literally, the most armor on this tank now is those damn rockets, shot up by .50 cals, the Wirbelwind at point blank range and a nearby friendly bomb and they don't even detonate while sticking out like a Brit's pinky during tea time. That's War Thunder for ya.

Hey Phyl, if you want to effectively use the upper rockets, whilst moving, suddenly brake and your tank will dip in the front and bring your rockets into range. Gotta time it though. The dip is momentary as the tanks suspension tries to correct.

Phly, you can 1 shot a KV 1 with it IF you get the arc right/somehow magically get the rocket to go off above a KV 1 and have rng on your side

A tip about rockets, when you have a rocket like this, you can drive and do a sudden stop causing the tank to lean forward and get the rockets down

You can hold alt while playing, and hover the mouse over the map. Proceed to scroll wheel in and out for adequate size.

Funny, i just replayed this myself the other day. The best tactic is to find a spot in a cap where the rockets are at effective range and hold it down. Also i feel like they buffed it, it felt like I could hit targets closer than before. Wouldn't really recommend it other than a collectors piece though. Think the rockets have only saved me a couple of times and generally I could have just used the cannon instead. Also glad i'm not the only one with the mini mini map. Thought I'd changed it somehow lol. Looks like a couple of others have more detail on them too so i guess they messed this one up when they updated them.

Phly remember this: The upper RP3 rockets hit at 250 meters The lower ones hit at 200 meters If you fire this on a flat ground directly to the target at ranges closer than these then the rocket may fly way over the target. Just be mindful of that.

@phlydaily you don't need to reverse up a hill to aim them down, it's actually fairly easy to hit things close if you drive a bit and tap the brakes. Dips the nose, flattens the initial trajectory and really ruins some people's day 😂

Tip for SMK users: Don't use the 76. No pen, laughable explosive mass, and all of its ammo is stored in that turret tower with only 60mm of armor. Bring the minimum 5 rounds you're allowed to bring, shoot them off at the start of the match, and use the 45mm gun alone to kill everything.

I have a kinda cool and interesting game mode that gaijin could make. So what if they added infantry and vehicle defence where there is a defensive position and you must protect the infantry, vehicles, and even pillboxes from advancing infantry. You would kill advancing infantry with small arms and to put more reason for HE rounds as they would be most effective against the troops. If you were attacking you would have to go through 3 defence lines defending your troops, you must destroy all vehicles and pillboxes before troops move in. All though it would be possible to kill all the defending troops without advancing your attacking troops it would take longer as the defending troops are dug in well and only take place when another troop dies and you would be left vulnerable shooting off your machine guns constantly . Getting the attacking troops into the defensive position would flush out the defending troops for you to kill with HE and small arms then you move to the next position. When all three defensive positions are down the tickets will bleed like they do when capping the point on battle. I know that you want something fresh and new so I'm taking it to the next level with this idea, hope you like it Phly.🤗🙂😏

Just a few days ago I was in my t-34 1942 and I shot at one of these Cromwell’s, and I bounced off and hit the rocket. 😂 the turret blew off... I kinda felt bad tbh..

You finally played it! Also.. why doesn't it have its full armour? Cromwells all had 76.2mm front turret armour in real life. Many had extra welded armour too on the front hull.

If you're moving a decent speed and let go of the throttle the tank will lean forward as it tries to slowly stop. You can use this to shoot at closer targets. Edit: He does this once, but more of a slam on the brakes

Do sharp break and shoot RP-3. It will make RP-3 launcher parallel to ground. So you can do easy shot with this.

I have a challenge for you Phly - try completing the Paulu's Last Tanks mission. Since tanks were introduced to War Thunder bombs and rockets have been nerfed so much it's totally impossible to complete this mission - you won't even come close, even in Arcade mode. Very annoying that the tankers have such a huge impact on the air game play.
