Another very interesting video. The subject another wonderful Hawker brute of an aeroplane. The standard of build is wonderful given the kits issues. Love the colour scheme. and the cowling fix, cleverly done.
speaking of the MIG Killer, she was discovered stored at Hawkers Dunsfold, when the sea furies where being converted as target tugs, fortunately she was recovered and used by the FAA historic flight, but later crashed. You had similar issues to me, nice work.
I must say Gary you coped with the issues very well and ended up with a really good looking build. You should be pleased. Now even my rookie status allows me to see both how stupid the errors are and how avoidable they are. Maybe it’s a bit like football it’s good to have something to moan about! Lol You leave me in quandary I would do wings out but …….. your build looks so good and is so carrier relevant maybe folded is the way to go? ACE Gary Bob England
With that big gap in the engine cowling, could you glue both edges and then put some filler between them with the glue adhering to that? Then when the glue and filler are dry you could sand any excess filler and make the surface flush.
@@garys_stuff Indeed. Yours worked very well. My thought is just another idea to kill that particular cat. NB. No cats were harmed in production of this comment :)
Great video Gary, thanks. I love the Sea Fury. Think this might be next after the Spitfire! Your tips make it much easier for us less experienced modellers.
☕👍 great timing as usual. One question about your preshading, most other people I've seen videos of, put the upper coats on in much thinner layers and build it up with several coats. Was this a time issue for you, or just a result of the editing? Also is it too soon for your impressions of the technique? (Haven't acquired an airbrush yet, it's on the soon list 😜)
Yes, I think I'm used to putting on a more dense layer so the pre-shading didn't work out. I'll maybe have another go on another kit... maybe the next one?
As always , Gary a superb video of a great Kit , and some interesting History to boot . ( . A suggestion for a future build , if I may be so bold . A Gloster Javelin , maybe ? Keep up the superb work , and take care . Kindest regards . Tony .
